I consider Hiroshima as my second hometown because I stayed there from 2014-2016 as a foreign student in Hirodai. And i proudly say that I've visited all the places that is featured in the video (you forgot to include hiroshima castle), surely hiroshima style okonomiyaki is one of the best japanese food its a personal favorite! There are also interesting and beautiful places outside of city of Hiroshima that is also worthy of visiting just like kagamiyama kouen and sake breweries in saijo, sankeien garden in mihara, yamato museum in kure and the 1000 cherry trees in miyoshi.

Love Japan the food, the people and most of all Hiroshima. From being a child of 7 in 1952 and seeing the devastation for the first time I have felt a yearning to go and now I just keep visiting . Your Video is great to watch and covers so much so well.

Very insightful presentation (omedetou!). I recommend you include the Aioi Bridge in your description of Peace Memorial Park: it was very close to Ground Zero and a plaque on the bridge describes what happened during the attack. I also offers a very nice view of the park and surrounding areas.

If you’re in Hiroshima, you got to check out Hotel Xcell ! It’s in the heart of the entertainment district and has jacuzzis, sauna and lounge on the roof !

This helped a lot in what I wanted to do and see when I get there. Just not sure how many days I need to set aside for most of this. The city seems very laid back compared to other cities in the North.

I say at least 2 full days. 1 day in Miyajima, and the other in the Hiroshima city including the peace memorial park.

Sandankyo.... is also great place to visit for relax, Specially in Autumn, The trees so colorful, , the river so clean, and the water falls of course .

Hi Japanesquest! Love your videos. I've been to Sandankyo before and there's a beautiful hike there but like Kampusra said, I too would recommend going in Autumn because then it'll be a little more special with the Autumn foliage :)

I went for the first time mid August. Towards Tokyo it was hot, but nothing devastating. Kyoto was extremely humid and hot. But boy I didnt prepare myself for Hiroshima, and the island. The sun was scorching me, that I had to carry around an umbrella. Then again I am from Chicago, where our winters can hit wind chills of below 0 F degrees, and well I to the low -60 F.

Great mix of places. If you come again I recommend checking out the Mitake area. A little hidden gem in Hiroshima.

I quite enjoyed Hiroshima Castle when I went last year. It's more interesting than Osaka Castle and nowhere near as crowded.

haha, I was just going to make that same comment... Love Hiroshima, it was my life time goal to go there. I was two months old when they dropped the bomb, I saw the Children of Hiroshima when I was very young , that and the original american footage has stuck with me all my life.

The museum is sobering, but Miyajima was a good counterpoint later in the day. I missed Okonomimura, too bad, as okonomiyaki is my favourite thing that I knew nothing about before going to Japan.

I wish I had seen this before I went to Hiroshima (well, we only had a day and had to take the Shinkansen back to Osaka). But at least, I had the chance to have an unhurried stroll around Miyajima and the Memorial Park, the latter being the main reason for the visit.

Hi, glad to hear you like the video. I am not good with the film terminology, but I think it is just called fast-forward. I recorded it regular speed, and played it 15 times faster when editing.

Does the rainy season really make it worthless to go to japan, during june to mid july? I can't go in another period.

Good question! Actually, I will be making a video "when to visit Japan" next month :) As for your question, Even though it is still enjoyable, I would not choose the rainy season if I could avoid. Tokyo and Osaka are probably okay since a number of tourist destinations are inside. Kyoto, Nara and Hiroshima are not so much. One exception is Hokkaido. They don't have any rainy season :)

YES! There is a JR ferry to Miyajima, and it is covered by the JR Pass. There is another ferry company running, which is NOT covered by the JR Pass. So make sure you ride the JR ferry! jr-miyajimaferry.co.jp/en/

It depends on where in Japan yo visit. Most of the places are hot, but not too hot to ruin your trip. Hokkaido and northern regions are the best in Summer :)
