Interesting to see the ways knockoffs cut costs and differ from the originals. Loved to see it. Through admittedly if the price difference was to the tune of 90$ to 4$, I'd be tempted to go for the cheaper one.
Buy a new one each year for 20 years vs the original? Or every 6 months for 10 years? 🤔 Or, just buy 10-20 at the same and hope your needs/expectations don't change
@@K03sport I did that, lol I bought 4 secrid knockoffs in 2019 and I'm still on my second. (I kinda ruined the first knockoff for educational purposes haha)
Here's a thought...if the genuine/original wasn't astronomically priced, there would be less room (at the bottom) for the knock-offs/imposters. With less separation in price, I'm hoping ppl would choose the original. This is also proof intellectual property rights mean absolutely nothing to Chinese companies. I get why Ridge, Ekster, Dango, etc. ask high prices to recoup development and production costs, but do they really need to be as high as they are? The market seems to be flooded w/pricey wallets.
I agree that we get what we paid for in most cases. However, when it comes to lifestyle products, marketing is often a big component of the price. I’d gladly pay more for better material and craftsmanship, but I’d rather not pay their advertising and influencer sponsorship if I can help it.
I love my trayvax element knock off ! Cheap (10 times less than the overpriced _real deal_ !), lightweight, handy... and has not been bent for the last 3 years that I've owned and carried it daily.

I have a couple of knockoffs in this list, and I'm quite happy. It is the best way to test if I'm going to like the wallet or not. I bought the cheap Secrid, I liked it and I bought the original.
I had the Dango M1 wallet knock off & the company I work for gave me a voucher to purchase the Dango. my difference between the two is the knock off one ID slot was a pain to take out my license & the Dango was smooth. other than that was my gripe with the knock off.
I bought a wallet about 5 years ago for about $65 which to me is a lot of money for a wallet considering to me it's a $10 leather shit box from Walmart. I forgot the guy's name but the guy who makes these stitches them by hand and was a map maker or something like that in the Navy his wallets are very nice very quality made. I bought a straight vegetable color wallet no coloring whatsoever now it is after these past years a beautiful weathered honey brown color still held together by the handmade stitching and would still back the warranty if anything got messed up on the wallet. He even guarantees if you bust a couple stitches in the scene the wallet will not come apart they remind me of a well made well worn baseball glove I wish I could remember the name of the company but there's a lot of guys here on RU-vid but endorse his products if I ever need another wallet I will definitely buy it from him again
I don't care that they knock off Dango, their products are overpriced and their quality control has gone down the tube. I own both the DO1 and DO3 Dapper and they both have several issues. The elastic band on the D03 has become loose and useless due to the cheap material they use, plus their rail system has the same issues as the Zeeker knock off. The DO1 came with several imperfections on the machined aluminum frame and ionized paint. Plus their customer service is horrendous.
As long as my wallet can hold my cash and cards I don't care where it comes from. And I certainly wouldn't pay £50 for it! Quite honestly,these wallets are becoming an expensive racket,the Internet flooded with them now.
I see knock off as an affordable alternative to the proper products as not everyone can afford a minimum of £60.00 pound for a wallet especially when you can get a more affordable alternative that looks similar for around £15.00 to £20.00 recently myself I got a Chinese knock off of a Ridge that they market as a vulkit that was like 1 sixth of the price of the cheapest Ridge it may not be the same quality but it was affordable I think only China understands that which is most Probably why about 95 per cent of knock off products are made in China I even a few years ago saw a video on u tude about a whole shopping centre in Hong kong that is dedicated to selling fake products because it is not illegal in China to sell a fake version of Someting if the customer knows it is a fake.
wow, secrid looks so cheap and weird and costs 20+ times more. OK, it's fake leather on the knockoff, but with real leather it would cost about 10-12$, definetely it's so stupid to buy secrid wallet
I wouldn't ever buy a knockoff. Why would anyone support someone who stole idea? You wouldn't buy Chinese car either, looks same but isn't same. Cheap is never good. Brands are often good but overpriced. That's how it works with cars too. But with good brand, there's quality in everything, starting from the smallest screws. Buy less items, but pay for what you want/need
Here the thing it cost about 1/10 the percent for about 90 percent the quality. Most people don’t care about ethics. People alway virtues signals on social media but in real life they would rather buy the knock off. Why do you thing that their more fake Rolex in circulation than real ones because of the time they provide about 90 percent of the quality for 1/10 of the price. Most of the value in globe original is marketing not build quality.
