I hope it makes sense in the story (as every decision should), but I don't have much faith. I enjoyed all the new movie (Rogue One especially) but once I turn off the hype and turn on my brain things get disappointing.

Cognus was infatuated with Bane for the few moments she was around him. And when Zannah upheld Banes tenets she too knew, just KNEW, it was the correct way. The Mutant Sith started out so well, and his abilities is what drew the Ikotochi. Her power was rare outside her race. But of course, she was so hell bent on upholding her idols methods like her master before her, she wouldn’t tolerate even a thought of modifying it. Which when you think about it, she was right to be so hell bent. The Sith failed because they refused to follow the way exactly.

Clash Gamer the Nightsisters relied on the Dark Side in Legends canon. Most of them were Dathomiri "witches" who fell to the Dark Side after being exiled for using the Dark Side in the first place.

I'm also curious about why they are classified as Dark Side. Their abilities can be replicated via telekinesis and virtually all Force Sensitives, Dark, Light, or Grey, use that. So why are the Shapers considered Dark Side? Is it because they primarily used their abilities for battle? Or could it be something else?

They are actually originally neutral and even leaning light side, they were part of the Saga rpg but were mentioned in the secrets of the sith book as dark side for some reason. I play one actually, they're really damn cool

I know this is all EU but the "Black Guard" sure sounds a lot like Kylo and Snoke, what with Snoke telling Kylo how he is "unbalanced" as though balance between light and dark is his goal (otherwise, what an odd thing for a dark sider to say?!?). But also the use of those weapons, and the location on Mustafar (seen in Rogue One), shall I continue?

I think in retrospect Snoke tried to fool Kylo with the comment, to keep him conflicted and that´s why he wasn´t so happy that he chased after Han. While Kylo killing Han backfired at first it gave him clarity and ultimately made him stronger, because he finally realized who his real enemy is. A Kylo that is obsessed with killing Han won´t plot to kill Snoke and Snoke would be free to use him until he was no longer useful. I mean the moment Snoke mocked Kylo´s helmet might´ve been his biggest mistake, because it gave him the push to reject Vader´s legacy.

Cronal use to be a member of the Sorcerers of Rhand until he left the group to join the Prophets of the Dark Side and eventually the Empire. The Sorcerers of Rhand taught him Darksight, a ability they use to foresee various possible futures and then use that knowledge to manipulate certain events in order to achieve their desired outcome. It was his use of Darksight which ultimately led him to leave the Sorcerers of Rhand, and the Unknown Regions, and go to Dromund Kaas where he joined the Prophets of the Dark Side, and eventually the Empire for Emperor Palpatine.

There's also the Bando Gora, a cult lead by Dooku's former apprentice, Komari Vosa. Sidious tasked Dooku with destroying this Cult, and he placed a bounty on Vosa's head, hoping to find a suitable candidate for the Clone Army. Eventually they were defeated by the Mandalorian, Jango Fett.

This deal was by no means unprecedented, it sounds more like a non aggression pact, major powers in the galaxy could get on despite having wildly different philosophies provided that neither posed a direct threat to the other, there were deals with pre rule of two Sith empires.

In a back story I had created for Snoke. I had him as descendant from the original Sorcerer's of Rhand. The use of the Ren as a title was a play on this.

What a big surprise! I wonder if there were a few other Dark Side cults that rivaled the Sith or were similar to the Sith. Heck, it’s possible we’ll learn of some Dark Side religions in the new EU that believe in the Dark Side and the ways of the Sith. Were there any orders of the light that rivaled the Jedi at all too?

The Knights of Ren are basically just the canon version of the Blackgaurd. Both being inspired by Medieval knights, armor, weapons etc.

Without knowing more on this sect of dark side users, one has to wonder if the Kanzer Exiles were some far distant ancestor of the Ssi Ruuk. Both are a malevolent, reptilian species and while mass mind control doesn't sound exactly like "entechment", the two practices are vaguely similar in ideology at least (enslavement). Perhaps the mass mind control was developed into entechment over the ages, as their technology also developed. An interesting idea to ponder anyway.

I LOVE the Shapers of Kro Var. I think they are SERIOUSLY underused and I REALLY want to have them play a bigger role in Star Wars. Any good books or games to look into?

Thank you EE! Vulta Daanat is a pretty increasing character. Although we don't know too much about him, he was the former Brotherhood of Darkness member who formed The Blackguard. Jacob Soltero fr those motherfuckers enslaved the whole galaxy and only died out because of a plague. Plus their machinery is still probably the most powerful one in Star Wars lore

The Blackguard were probably my favorite, founded by the apprentice of Skere Kaan, trained with lightsabers, and believed that gaining knowledge made them more powerful in the Force. After them it's either the Prophets or the Mecrosa.
