Over the Falls - The Land of Rocks & Waterfalls is a canoe trip through some of the most beautiful landscape Ontario has to offer. Waterfall after waterfall, with nothing but beautiful wilderness and steep portages around. This trip through Temagami sees me and my trusty pup, miss Betty-Lou travel through a series of some of the most spectacular waterfalls I've ever seen!
Making our way from Lake Temagami to Obabika Provincial Park, then up to the heart of the Temagami parks... Lady Evelyn-Smoothwater Provincial Park, where we paddle a section of the Lady Evelyn river before making our way home. Once you discover the beauty of Temagami it's very hard to leave. What an amazing place!

The time it must take setting up for all those shots during portaging has to take a lot of time. Esp the ones where you have to climb up a steep hill,, set up the camera, then walk back down to pick up the canoe only to head back up again. All this effort to make it an enjoyable experience for us viewers. Absolutely top notch professional work. My favorite channel by far. Thank you for taking me along on another journey

Great video, My son and I enjoyed your brief visit, we enjoy reliving our journey as we watch this video. Your comment on the water falls and what makes them special. For me it is very humbling knowing the water has been doing this for a time longer then I can even begin to comprehend. For this moment in time I am able to see feel hear the eternity of its existence knowing it will go on doing the same for ever it seems. My time spent with the natural falls spellbound by its presence is such a very small thing. Your fishing skills amaze us as we caught not even a nibble. Have a great season paddling

Hey Brian. We just got back from our first little trip of the season. It was a pleasure talking to you guys last summer. I was a little bit envious of the trip you two took together through that beautiful park. What a special place. I cannot agree with you more about the waterfalls. Well done! Beautiful scenery and great photography. At age 69 that’s what I have is memories of hikes, camps, boating and water-campfires-beauty. What I fear is when I can’t do this anymore and worse when I won’t be able to remember the memories.

Beautiful vid man. I was here a couple months earlier and it was funny watching you have similar experiences like the falls exceeding expectations or noticing the birch/cedar at the base of cabin falls. Great to see there was a spec in there...I sure didn't find any.

Thanks Jon. Ya that place continually blew me away. I’ll have to watch that video this morning as I’m fresh of out footage to edit maybe can get caught up on some videos. As far as the fishing goes I was fairly excited for the “trout streams” but it was a tough go. Had maybe 4 or 5 on but only managed to get one to the boat. Thanks as always for taking the time to watch and comment. Much appreciated.

that was lovely, thank you! Temagami and Lady Evelyn area was our favourite canoe camping country. We started coming here decades ago when Algonquin started requiring specifying which lake you were camping on each night. We immediately fEll in love with that area, and it became our go to. fortunately living in Muskoka it was not too far away, I'm 71, lost my wife to cancer in 2020, she loved canoe camping as much as I . I love your style, this brings back memories,

Another great video! Did this same route a couple years ago solo in five days, seven would have been better to relax more. Got swarmed by hornets on top golden staircase and camped above bridal falls, alot of highs and lows lol. This is such an iconic route in my opinion, takes alot of work but you’re surely rewarded.

Totally agree Mack. As far as I’m concerned, in Ontario I don’t think there is a better bang for buck trip out there. Those falls are amazing. Lots of tough portages though for sure. I like the 7 day idea. Thanks for the comment and glad you enjoyed the video and your trip to Temagami.

Very nice Keenan. We did almost that exact route in Sept. 2020, just gorgeous. You captured it so well. I want to go back! Bridal Veil Falls was my favourite although all the cascades at Helen Falls were stunning. Betty Lou is so sweet, just love her.

Very nice video Keenan, great scenery as always. Really enjoyed it. There are few places that compare to Temagami. Cant wait for ice out in a few weeks!

Love the video! I'll be getting a kayak soon. We don't have much down here regarding rivers that we can camp, but I do plan on doing some kayak camping on some reservoirs.

Yes this route is probably the most scenic route Ive done in Ontario. Bang for your buck I don't think there is a better route out there. Amazing place.

@@CanoeTheNorth saw that guy you bumped into was in a kevlar swift canoe... people had warned me about taking a kevlar boat on that route but looks like it can be done if you're careful!

Ya I think you could bring a Kevlar canoe on that route. I don’t know if I would run any of the whitewater sections (not that it was really whitewater when I was there late summer). I actually just watched one of Jon’s from lost lakes videos on temagami and he saw a Kevlar canoe wrapped around a rock in some whitewater.

Hopefully you can get out there solo this summer. Having a Betty Lou with you makes it feel like you’re part of a team. Certainly keeps your mind occupied anyways.

Keenan, lol I had the same reaction the first time and every time i make my way around the lovely Lady Evelyn area. Simply incredible! Have you thought about making an adventure one time up to Ishpatina Ridge next time you go back(highest point of land in Ontario)(ya gotta do it at least once right.. right?! lol) You wont be disappointed ..bring Ashley!
