Tip 1: Hydration is key. Before entering the steam room, drink a glass of water.
Tip 2: Start slow. Begin with short sessions of around 10 minutes and gradually increase the duration as your body adjusts.
Tip 3: Take a towel to sit or lie on inside the steam room. This provides a barrier between you and the hot bench, ensuring sanitation and comfort.
Tip 4: Breathe deeply. Inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth to fully experience the benefits of the steam.
Tip 5: Create steam by pouring water on the heated rocks or surface. This will intensify the heat and humidity, providing a more therapeutic experience.
Tip 6: Be mindful of your body. If you feel lightheaded, nauseous, or uncomfortable during your session, listen to your body and step out for a break.
Tip 7: After your steam session, cool down gradually by placing a cold towel on your forehead or splashing cool water on your face.
Bonus Tip to take your steam room experience to the next level. if you have your own steam room (not to be tried at a public steam room) bring your favorite essential oils inside with you and place them in a dish to evaporate with the steam. My personal favorites are eucalyptus, lavender, and peppermint.
