Jesus is the firstborn among many brother and sisters; we have been adopted by God through Him. ❤

Great series! Will you please explain the timeline of events? I’m a little bit confused. If you count from Friday to Sunday, that’s only 2 days 🤔 and the Word says 1 Corinthians 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Again, thank you for your teachings!😊✨

This is an ongoing discussion in the church and isn’t a straightforward puzzle to solve. Early church tradition chose Good Friday as the day to commemorate Jesus’ death because of the mention of Sabbath approaching when his body is taken from the cross (John 19:32). Here is the best explanation I’ve found to reconcile the timeline: -Jesus celebrates the Galilean Passover on Wed evening (start of Jewish Thursday). This Passover was an overflow Passover created by the religious leaders in order to accommodate the large number of temple sacrifices taking place (my source - John Stott ‘Cross of Christ’, note that Stott still supports Good Friday in his book). This Passover Jesus takes with his disciples (Mark 14, Matt 26) - Jesus goes to the garden Wed night after the meal and is arrested. He is with the religious leaders all through the night and into Thurs morning. - Jesus is sentenced by Pilate and crucified Thurs, the day of Preparation for the Judaean Passover (John 19:31). The Judean Passover would occur at twilight (just before Jewish Friday began at dusk). Jesus probably died about the same time as the Passover lambs (Deut 16:6, Matt 27:45-50). His body was certainly removed when the lambs died. - Thursday was Nissan 14 and Friday Nissan 15, the first day of Unleavened Bread. This was a special Sabbath (John 19:31, Lev 23:7), the leaders wanted Jesus’ body taken down. He is laid in the tomb Thurs evening (start of Jewish Friday). - The hinge of this timeline is that both Friday (1st day of Unleavened Bread) and Saturday (sixth day) were Sabbaths. - Jesus is in the tomb our Thurs night, Fri night and Sat night. That is Jewish Friday (dusk to dusk), Saturday (dusk to dusk) and Sunday (dusk to dawn). - Jesus rises on Sunday, the third day, at dawn (Matt 28:1, Mark 16:1-2, Luke 24:1, John 20:1) I hope this helps! Good Friday is one of those things (like Jesus being born in a stable) that we’ve come to accept as fact, but is actually rooted in Western culture’s reading of Scripture.

@@edon5873 Thank you! In South America Holy week starts on Thursday. Though I never understood then, how this was connected with Scripture.

Ty for your reading. But do you no hv concern teaching your children to celebrate Easter? I'm not asking this to be offensive at all I'm literally asking it. I quit the fake helladays several years ago diligently honoring the Holy days. Though mind you I absolutely was raised celebrating Easter that was actually my mother's favorite holiday cuz she's a junkie food junkie LOL but seriously as well I'm a December Baby my birthday is 6 days before Christmas so leaving those pagan holidays go was challenging for me personally or not really challenging but they were days I enjoyed celebrating before I came into the truth. So I'm curious about that because you obviously are a woman of God and you do your research so trying to figure out you know what are your thoughts on this? Now i raised my children the same way and unfortunately they were still little when I was still confused about certain things so I passed on this stuff as well

This woman is mixing paganism and with God's truth. Jesus resurrection was NOT on Sunday. Sunday is the first day of the week .
