I would include Scott McTominay. In his earlier years he played as a free attacking player. Against Leeds last season he did that and got 2 goals in the first 10 mins. For Scotland he plays as a CB and he looks far better there than in midfield. Basically I think that he could play almost anywhere else on the pitch apart from in the pivot and we’d see a massive improvement in his performances.

The reason why De-jong does not feature as a DM with in a double pivot system is Sergio Busquets. Busi does not feel comfortable playing in a double pivot role, recently sacked Kouman tried doing the same when he first arrived, but it was not succesfull. No manager has the guts to drop Busquets and play De-jong as his successor, this treatment towards senior players and player power is the reason of sqaud with poor depth.

I was kind of expecting Torreira to be here. His entire career went downhill after he was changed position in Arsenal.

At the moment, CHO playing in any position is a good sign for him, let alone the correct position tbh. He is showing why LW is the best place to play him, but the great thing about him and why he is so useful for Tuchel, is that he can play these other positions to a decent level. It's having 1 player cover multiple different spots for when different starting player get injured that makes him very handy to have.

I’ve always thought that bielsa’s football would work very well in a 3-1-4-2. Having Rodrigo up top with bamford, and sort’ve wingbacks/maybe wingers that can put in a shift up and down, would work very well. Plus the defensive cover of having 3 CB’s, and kalvin Philips right in front of the back line seems appealing, considering on the ball it can lineup as sort of a normal 4 back, but kalvin would be used in that “quarter back” role of playing dimes out to the wing backs / wingers that are busting a gut to get into free space, or the 2 men up top that can easily drop back, and then once getting the ball, can link up the play. Plus it allows for players like klich and roberts or Stuart Dallas and Shackleton, etc etc, to go ahead and play those box to box roles that they excel in. It also works with the way he plays in terms of the whole team going up the pitch when attacking, and the whole team going down the pitch when defending, as a unit, that he loves to do and have as his sort of tactical example of what he bases his team off of. The pressing and other things he thinks is necessary in order to play his football, essentially has this formation at his favor to compliment it. He has the players for it, and clearly Rodrigo is better as a ST than anything else.

Ngl CHO has played as a lw more often now and gets playing time more often. He's been really good

I never understood why Barcelona signed Dest in the first place. He always was the second choice right back at Ajax, but played a lot due to an injury at the first choice right back. i think you're a bit harsh on dest because you don't really watch barcelona week in week out. dest is very good defensively when needed but he is usually deployed as an attacking option because he is a very good chance creator, maybe his finishing is bad but his passing, dribbling and connection with other players are very good

In the minority, but Poch is overrated. Has a better squad than what Tuchel had at PSG but he's playing a dreadful football, scraping wins from individual brilliance and doesn't seem to know what to do with Messi. The way PSG have been playing this season, it should be a sin for him to still be in the job considering the squad he has and he's being outplayed by less talented sides. No way they're even close to getting to the semis let alone winning the UCL. Poch is a good coach, but not a great one. They're levels to this and so far he's proving that he's not ready for to deliver major trophies. So for me I've seen more than enough to think PSG should sack Poch, his football is dreadful

I'd say Hudson-Odoi playing out of position is mostly because of Thomas Tuchel's commitment to sticking to that one formation. Chelsea have so much attacking talent and only play three attacking positions so there is rarely any space for him, playing him at rwb is fine because he doesn't have to be too defensive. Imo Tuchel should sometimes go to a four at the back and pick an XI with 4 attacking players, like a 4-2-3-1 against the weaker teams but he seems pretty set

6 out of 7 ain't bad. When he was a kid Zinchenco was rated as one of the best young left backs in the world by some. That was a registered position for him although one of his strengths was he could play a number of positions. He is like Daley Blind in the roles that he could play and like Daley he was primarily a left back early on.
