Simon Terrode is the german equivalent to those players. Scored 30 goals for schalke on route to promotion while not being able to score more than 5 goals a season when playing in the Bundesliga.

great video but to even suggest Pukki I think is wrong, what he’s done this season in a side completely devoid of goals and attacking output (14 g/a out of Norwich’s 23) has been incredible

@@jmfoxall7230 Dude, this season Norwich scored like 21 goals in total and Pukki scored 11 goals alone. This video is stupid imo. If you had a player like Pukki or Aleksandar Mitrovic playing as a striker for a team like Manchester City or Liverpool, they could honestly score that 20 goals/a season. How can you shine if your team is so bad? Playing in a bad team doesn't always mean you're a bad player or not worth being a PL player.
@jmfoxall7230
@jmfoxall7230 2 года назад
Stick Pukki with good service and he would be 15-20 goals a season. Mitrovic I'm not to sure about given he hasn't really shone in his attempts in the Prem.
@-RunninNGunnin-
@-RunninNGunnin- 2 года назад
Exactly. For strikers good service and good players below are everything. Even my 86yo grandpa would score many of those chances a team like City creates in almost every game. Mitrovic is a beast. He scored like 43 goals this season in Championship but unfortunately Fulham will probably not be a strong team in the PL so he'll probably end up being 10 goals/a season player 😂

As a Fulham fan definitely seconding Tim Ream, he's absolutely brilliant in the Championship but a complete liability in the Prem. I think Championship sides aren't used to those kind of front-foot centre backs and afford him way too much time on the ball which lets him play almost as a 6/8 at times whereas he gets absolutely destroyed by the more intense pressing systems in the Prem

That's mad !! I remember watchin the lad at United in their u18 & reserve side back on MUTV a decade or two ago. Which is pretty impressive considering I was only born in 97 lol ( Gotta be the first player I actually specifically enjoyed watching play football ) but i was convinced that he'd end up playing for the first team back than. Would score most games I'd tune in that year. & If I'm not mistaken to he shared the role in Uniteds reserve squad at the time with a young Fraizer Campbell who ironically probably would have made more out his career if he stuck to the championship to. That name brings back so many memories for me ! Lol I was so disappointed when he left the club

I'm a Newcastle fan, mitro unfairly gets labelled not good enough for the PL. His debut season as a 21 year old, he had 8/9 PL goals. Pretty decent at any age for a striker of a club that got relegated. After that benitez just didn't like him. For Fulham he again had to play for a club fighting relegation. Just about to sit down and watch this. This calibre of player has always fascinated me, even across multiple sports or even non-sports, like professional wrestling (Jeff Jarrett is the ultimate "not good enough for the main event but way too good to be below the main event" talent of all time). Seems in the English game there should be room for promotion specialists as players; of course it's highly unlikely a professional athlete will not back themselves to go on to the PL, but players who routinely don't end up doing well at the top end of the game could benefit by marketing themselves as a gun for hire to push a team into PL glory before moving on to the next Championship title contender. Maybe someone like Mitrovic.

Just a point I'd like to add. In the days before the Premier league, Lower leagur players often made a BIG step up the the old First Division and were stars. Kevin Keegan springs to mind. Liverpool signed him from Scunthorpe, and he went on the play for England. Then in the 80s, Liverpool signed John Aldridge from Oxford United when they were a third Division team, to replace Ian Rush. He was also an excellent striker. This concept is super interesting to me because I wonder if it comes down to things like overwhelming athleticism, personnel and tactics. These guys are obviously talented in that they can find the back of the net by beating goalkeepers but this is a 22 man game we're talking about. I cannot help but feel in hypothetical perfect conditions (tactics, athleticism, teammates) , all these players mentioned, as well as a few other hidden gems would at the very least be average in the premier league. We've seen what happens when (an albeit older) Ronaldo gets played on a weaker team; he's still good but not as much of a problem as he was on better teams. I think a lot of these kind of players could benefit from playing overseas but whether or not they are open to such things is another thing entirely. Good vid.

Some of these players should try to get a move outside of England to a top tier European league which is on the intermediate level between E.F.L. championship and E.P.L. so they can get better exposure at the global level but most of the players (other than foreigners) who play in England rarely move out to play in a different country due to family or not wanting to adapt to living in a different country mainly due to language issues.

@Andrew-eo2cw
@Andrew-eo2cw 2 года назад
Each club will usually release 3 strips each year. 1) home shirt, which will most likely stick to the club's 'original' colour and pattern. E.g Red and white stripes for Sunderland and black and white stripes for Newcastle. 2) away kit. This will be a different colour to the home shirt. 3) 3rd kit. Incase there is a colour clash in a match... (And to make more money from shirt sales) Some clubs will have a similar home colour. E.g West ham, Aston villa & Burnley. Or, Sunderland, Southampton and Sheffield United. When the play eachother, the away or 3rd kit will be used.

I remember Peter Wittingham having a particularly good season at Villa early in his career where despite being nominally a wide player at the time, he was moved into centre-mid so that he could have more influence on the game. I was a bit baffled when we sold him, this was a period where Villa made a bit of a habit of selling promising British players who were obviously going to do well elsewhere (see also Gary Cahill and Steven “most capped British player of all time” Davis).

A lot of it has to do with play style and quality of players, some people play better and thrive with bad teammates because they have to play harder other play better with quite exceptional teammates who expect a lot from them. The way the team plays matters too. Formation and individual discipline a lot of factors go into how well someone plays with a team. Like ones play style and yes the argument can be made that a good player adapts but we can take a look at man united this season and see the perfect example of good players not playing good together for one reason or another.
@YoiAmGucci

I kind of always disagree with a bunch of these "too good for the Champ/not good enough for the PL"... I mean come on in the Championship they play for dominant teams that create chances and then collectively and understandably they come up against better opposition and get less of the ball, less corners, less penalties, less free kicks, less chances. They become the team they enjoyed smashing by 4,5,6 or as many as 7 goals the previous season. Mitrovic has just torn up the Championship but how many chances has he had per game? Vs. how many chances he'll get next season in the Prem; there will be a huge difference. His international record as of right now is very respectable with 44 goals in 71 games... Clearly he has the ability to be a top PL striker but will he get the chances? Ivan Toney has just had an impressive (proper) debut season in the Prem 12 goals scored. If he stays at Brentford they could have a tricky second season, maybe only scores 10 goals and becomes added to this list. I think he'd be a great fit for Arsenal where he could net 15-20 goals with the extra chances he'd likely get.
@h4vehart
@h4vehart 2 года назад
I'd say it's easy to criticise strikers on goal contributions alone but half of the difficulty of tranisitioning to the Premier League is the lack of opportunities you're going to get as a striker. Promoted teams often change their entire game plans to sit deep and hit on the counter and the quality of the chances a lot of these guys were getting in the top flight were no where near as plentiful nor as high a quality as they would have previously.

Fair play for not going for Mitrovic, like the majority of people who don't seem to realise he barely played last season and that he actually hit double figures for Fulham in a poorly-assembled and struggling squad when they first returned to the top flight.
