@2:06 Fasting for short periods of time is actually very healthy, and there is research suggesting that it prolongs a person's life. Also, you can't say fasting for 7 days is "medically harmful for most people" because humans are evolutionarily built to fast (especially when you take into account our past as hunters and gatherers, which is why our bodies are so good at holding onto fat). Also, humans can fast for months as long as they get a supply of water. With that said, Momo only lost water weight for a specific purpose... her debut. You can make the argument that excessive cycles of weight loss is harmful to one's mental health (and a risk factor to eating disorders and depression as a co-morbidity), but you can't conclude that fasting itself is harmful.
it could be fine if its correctly assesored by a nutrional professional, and isnt recomended for everyone, forthermore its worse if you are in constant physical activity like dancing or excercicing for hours like most kpop trainees
@@mishoalcachofa the weight cut is tough, but it’s not unique to kpop. It happens in acting, professional combat sports (like Boxing, MMA, wrestling), modeling, etc. It’s also a reflection of the societal values. If fans didnt gravitate to skinny bodies, idols wouldn’t need to cut weight that much.
