Even though this game may not be perfect, the swinging is the best it’s felt since spider man 2 (the movie game) and it’s easily the best out of the series in terms of its gameplay. I have so much fun playing this game that it’s ruined the previous 2 spidey games for me, which is a same considering those games have great elements too.
Yea a game doesn’t have to be perfect. I think people are too obsessed with the whole master piece, perfect thing. If you like it that’s all that matters. Personally I think it’s a 8/10. Gameplay is more important and I like the gameplay.
I can definitely understand the critiques (particularly when it comes to how venom was handled overall), but it still doesn’t really hamper my enjoyment of the game. Sadly, I feel like gaming culture has gotten a lot more cynical as of late and it’s unfortunate that games like this can get quite a bit of unwarranted hate for stuff like reuse of assets. @@jingleballs9935
no version of this game put out wouldve been perfect anyway, its all subjective to the individual, this game is an masterpiece and a staple in spiderman games for history, this sets the bar and will pass it again and again, they be cooking in that studio with these games and im all for it
PLUS, this game has APPARENTLY been developed in 3 and a half YEARS. That is SHORTER Time than the FIRST GAME. The fact that they managed to pull off an 8/10 or a 9/10 game in less time, is freaking impressive and shows how incredibly talented Insomniac are. But im MAD At sony. This game could've VERY well been a Masterpiece if they let Insomniac make it for atleast 5 years like we thought they did. But since Jim Ryan left Sony, this gives us hope that the third game will be a Phenomenal game.
What i absolutely LOVE about this game is that you can endlessly swing and fight crime without getting bored. Even the glitches are fun to play around xD

A few additions to this game would’ve made it perfect to me For each suit Tasm1/2, Sam raimi original and black suit, No way Home suit add their theme songs to it Add in the option like web of shadows to go into the black suit whenever you want BUT whenever you are in the black suit after let’s just say 2 minutes of using it have Peter turn more aggressive. Bring back the little gadgets That should make the game feel more better and fun Add in each Spider-Man suit *specifically raimi, TASM, and No way home swing styles. Give US COOP
I saw some videos saying that this game is a downgrade in terms of gameplay compared to Spider-Man 1 which I find just incredibly stupid. Like with the web wings, increased speed, sling shot, corner tether and loop de loops I just can’t see myself going back to spider-man 1 or miles morales. Hell even the combat is much more satisfying for me with the abilities and parrying. However I do wish we still had some of the gadgets from spider-man 1. The game was a downgrade In terms of story and post game content.
