The 7 pin winch switch can seem daunting or confusing to wire up because of all the posts but its actually very simple and can be wired up very quickly, this version is for permanent installations. All the connections are soldered to spade clips, making it both solid and easy to replace the switch should it fail.
I also include an internal view of the switch so if you have accidently opened the switch housing and are unsure where the pieces go after they scatter you can easily put it back together

Great video. What modifications to the wiring need to be done if I want the led’s on the rocker switch illuminated all the time…even when not activating the winch in or out?

Thank you I appreciate that a lot :) you simply isolate which post runs the LED ad put it to the power source that is on at the times you want the led on. ie if on 24/7 you run it to a source from the battery that's always live if you want it on only when the ignition is on you wire the LED to the ACC on the ignition or other such source that's only live when the kes on :) that help?

Ok, i see how you do this from DIY kit. My challenge is connecting a 3 prong LED light switch. Prong 7 goes to car metal to ground? Thanks. Good video very clear presentation

I just bought a momentary 7 pin switch for my kolpin winch. The kolpin winch just has 3 wires, red, black, and blue. There was a rocker switch on it before. I hooked the 7 pin switch up the way you did with the jumpers and like how it says to do in the instructions, but it will only wheel the winch in and not let it out. Any ideas? I’m at a loss.

I have the same switch trying to use for turn signals do you know how I could wire it with a flasher I have it half way working not sure if I need two flashers any help would be great thanks it’s on a four wheeler

This is exactly how I wired mine I have been trying to find a video to explain the problem I'm having is it works fine to winch in but blows the fuse as soon as I winch in

Has to be a short somewhere you could see if the winch works when not using the switch jump on that hot wire to a power source if it pops another fuse it a short in the winch which can happen in motors if not it's between the switch and winch crossed wire or a short

The music absolutely killed the video. Don’t put background music on. You alienate people cuz they may not like the music and it gets very annoying. Had to stop the video

thanks for the feedback I have addressed that in my newer stuff this was old using freeware lol limited in the options and my experience was lacking :) cheers
