I have a health condition that isn't covered by my insurance and it would take several years to get to where I need to be via the NHS. It took a lot for me to pay for additional private appointments (I could afford them but they seemed ao expensive), but within two appointments my issue was properly medicated for the first time in four years and it was life changing. I'd never scrimp on health again.

Yep I agree! So many “experts” list it as a want but to many it’s a need! I cut my membership temporarily bc I wasn’t using it, and I decided to just walk during the warmer season, and will add it back in the winter! Health is super important and should be considered an investment!! So many experts get that one backwards! Now I guess if you are paying for it year after year and not using it well then that’s a different story.

You don't actually need a gym. I worked out at gyms for over 25 years only to realize there are countless exercises you can do at home. Negative push-ups, planks, burpees, jump rope or just jumping jacks, etc., etc. I bought a smaller treadmill and walk on that while using my phone or playing video games. Targets my body and mind at the same time!

Hello Nischa thanks for this insightful video. The one thing that I would upgrade in the future from your list is the Nespresso machine. That IS a loss leader business model which is why 1) The machine is so cheap and 2) They give you free pods precisely to get you in the habit. You’ll be much better off getting a real coffee machine and grinding your own beans. Not only will you save so much more money, you’ll have access to a humongous variety, plus get so much more value per cup as each pod is just a paltry 5g of grind. With amazing quality coffee about $15 per 500g bag, you’ll get it back in no time. Plus, you’re not killing the environment with so much waste.

I learnt the things which you need daily- I use that motto buy once, cry once So, like if you know you need a bed, choose the one you want and wait for the sale Long term assets - dining table, bed, sofa, spend once that's it Short term - writing books pens, you need to keep buying depending on your work so no extragence there Food - that is your health, if you eat shit like junk food, you are not doing anything good But fruit and veg and cook at home

Thanks so much Nischa for all you are sharing- it is very inspiring and I love that it is so practical. I would really appreciate you sharing the harsh realities or reality people don’t talk about of owning rental properties. It seems like a ‘common’ avenue to build wealth but I’ve heard several times “it can be a headache” but that’s about it. Can you speak to your experience or what you have learned being ‘in the industry’ that would help us decide if it’s a goal worth pursuing (or not)?

Yep go the Kindle paper white water proof and had a Nescafe Dulce Gusto on sale for 40 quid and bought pods in bulk on Amazon turned out to be 28p a pod for espresso, did that for a few years than eventually upgraded to a second hand Gaggia machine and separate Eureka grinder , I do not suggest the latter option, I'm just a massive coffee snob that once worked in a previous life as a Barista and struggle to settle for less. Did solo travelling for the last several years, totally agree with everything with you said on that, also I quit alcohol this year, saved a ton of money and improved my health substantially!

It is always good to have a financial plan. I work with a portfolio manager and fixed income planner in the USA. The fixed income portion of your portfolio won’t simply serve as a buffer to the volatility of the equity portion of your portfolio, but will provide legitimate income.

A lot of people downplay planners role, until burnt by their mistakes. I remember just after my layoff 3 years ago amidst covid outbreak. I had to stay afloat, hence researched for licensed fiduciary advisors. Thankfully, I came across someone of practical knowledge and decades of experience. My stagnant reserve fund of $225k has yielded nearly $1m after subsequent investments so far.

The solo travel one is particularly overlooked I think. I have gotten a great deal of good out of my solo travels over the years, whether taking my 1st trip ever to NYC, which I did as a solo traveler, to brief overnight visits to different cities where my NHL Hockey team is playing (Let's Go Blues), You can learn a lot about self-reliance and personal/time management through those experiences. You also learn a great deal about these places through research & planning for all to be done there & on the way.

Been traveling alone for a decade or so. My ex wife didn't like to travel and that was probably our undoing. When I was freed from the confines of making a living I wanted to see the world. I had already been several years in Europe, Asia and many domestic locations in the US when active duty military but I felt like I was just getting started. Anyway, post divorce I had some fun years with a sociopath. That ended about how it had to end. The last decade has been all me. I went back to Switzerland a couple of times. Spent four ski seasons in lake tahoe. Traveled extensively through California, Colorado and Utah. I'm rambling I know but the point is that traveling alone teaches you so much. You learn self reliance without a wingman in the form of a wife, husband, friend. I've had some of my best experiences and met so many interesting people whom I never would have met if I had a traveling companion. You have a lot wisdom for someone your age which I could only guess at but I think I have an idea.

Hate getting up? Cause: Caffeine can make you overwork and can ruin your deep sleep even if you do sleep and you end up needing antidepressants and therapy. Avoid addictions even if minor and legal. Chocolate, tea, etc., can all disturb sleep and reduce total sleep. Keep it to once a week or just mornings and only if you have a leisurely lifestyle not overworked already. We have huge heart disease trouble here because we WORK TOO MUCH with caffeine as a fuel. Take health seriously.

Awesome video! Love it! Another good purchase I made was a mixer. Now I make every morning a fresh smoothie ☺️ and it’s a cheap investment ☺️ you can even use frozen fruits ☺️

One of your best posts. Loved it the most. I have already spent far more time on earth than you and I am learning a lot from you. Getting some validations too, like in this one.

I'd consider abandoning coffee for nicotine patches since nicotine doesn't interfere with sleep as much as caffeine - it's half life is a few hours whereas caffeine's can be as high as twelve. Caffeine is an overused psychoactive stimulant in the west and people drastically underestimate how interruptive it is on your ability to reach the deeper stages of sleep necessary for full cognitive functioning whilst awake.

Definitely agree with the investment in a good bed. One of the best decisions I ever made, spending good money on the best mattress. Good sleep should never be under rated.
