I have a whole video covering natural disasters in the area, please feel free to go watch that! - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Hyf0CnPX4Bs.html
Interesting to watch. I’ve grown up here as well. In snohomish county. I feel like things are expensive compared to other states I’ve visited. Although we do have 4 seasons I hate the weather, there are waaaay too many gray dark and gloomy days even if it’s not technically raining. If you struggle with depression especially seasonal, I do not recommend coming here. Also as far as people being friendly, I don’t really see that at least here where I am located. I’ve travelled a little bit to Oregon, Idaho, Montana, South Dakota and Florida, and people there were much more friendly and personable in my opinion. Seattle and it’s suburbs are a complete shit hole with tents and homeless people and addicts shooting up and leaving needles everywhere. This side of the state is a liberal hell hole. The one thing about natural disasters that scares me here is “the big one,” a huge earthquake that is bound to happen at some point due to all the tectonic plates under our area, supposedly everything west of I-5 will be destroyed likely in the next 10 years. We also have a lot of huge active volcanoes that could cause complete havoc. The good things to me.. If you’re a tech person there’s plenty of work. The scenery here is so beautiful.. when it’s nice…. Which is like almost never, but for a couple months of the year there is amazing swimming and hiking and camping. The water also tastes super fresh and yummy. No need to worry about droughts. That’s all I can really think of. Been wanting to move away for awhile.
Oh, well I am sorry to hear your experience has been negative. I also grew up in Snoho county (Lake Stevens) but I don't feel the same. It all boils down to opinion....
I agree with everything you said here. More and more I am thinking about moving sooner than later. Also, Washington weather during summer time (May to October) is probably the best in the world. Trust me, you do not want to visit places like Japan during July/Aug/Sept. It is beyond hot and humid.
Great video Hannah, yeah your in gods country pacific north west, unlike Florida seen taxes on upkeep on property there it’s nuts , keep up great work 👍👍👍
Good thoughts about PNW and thanks for the presentation. One item is similar to Connecticut though. Both places tout that they do not have state income tax, but their property tax rates and other taxes can be quite high. Either way, states will get their revenue one way or the other. But PNW is a beautiful place.😊
Thanks for watching! I believe Connecticut has some of the highest property tax in the nation. Here in Clark County, we are at right about 1% of the assessed value of the home (which lags behind fair value) so I can't say I agree with what you're saying, but I do thank you for watching and commenting! I would consider our property taxes more middle of the road. The state recoups the loss of income tax with excise tax for property transfer (when you sell a home, you get taxed)
1. All 4 seasons and not that much rain 2. No income tax 3. Clean weather 4. Affordable 5. Diversify Jobs 6. Safe from natural disasters.. mostly.. 7. Friendly People..
I'm a petitioners I've me lots of nice people but people are very far from chill especially drivers everyone competes with each other instead of actually working together but overall ok
other videos say that the people who live around here aren't that friendly... but you said the people are friendly... hmm... I don't know which is true 😅 because I'm thinking 🤔about moving from Southern California to Vancouver, Washington
I dont think there is really anyway to get that number. Its not really worth the time for most people for small savings such as grocery or supply trips. Most people will do it only for big trips (furniture, electronics, tires, costco etc!)
lol! Regarding Portland, Many people like to be close to Portland for the social and food scene, however Vancouver is self sustaining and you would not need to leave the county for most things if you didnt want to. Thanks for watching :)
