Fun fact about siamese being talkative. I read somewhere that they don't just talk to anyone, you need to be considered "worthy of conversation" by your cat. And this is absolutely true with my Runa, she absolutely won't shut up around me and my boyfriend, especially when she wants something. But if there are guests in the house (obviously, not during quarantine), she will be the quietest cat ever, not a sound!
Siamese Cats are the ultimate cat!!! As a young female I had a seal point female (named Sana) and as a young Mother I had two Siamese, 1/2 siblings. Jackson, a huge Blue Point (8kg) and Bella, a tiny Seal Point (3kg). Jackson and Bella were absolutely pivotal in both my daughter's and my life. I called them my Hu-Cats, because they were more human than cat. They were loving, loyal, intelligent and engaged. Bella, the little cat would just talk and talk and talk. Meanwhile, huge Jackson (when placing his upper legs drapped on my shoulder, his hips reached my pelvis, he was the size of a small Maine Coon), had this ridiculous little effeminate meow. These cats slept with both my children and I. They preferred human company, they would not only sit in your lap, but stretch their little paws up and softly place and pat out faces. They also played catch and were such an incredible delight. More dog like in their company, they just wanted to be with my daughter's and me, 24/7. Unfortunately they passed about 6 years ago, and it still causes me considerable grief. Siamese Cats are incredible!!!! I thoroughly recommend to anyone having Siamese Cat, if you have the emotional capacity to have a Hu-Cat. They will become an integral part of your life. Kind Regards Catherine
We got our boy almost 14 years ago. Actually, he picked ME and - boy - did I fall for that! BIG personality from the beginning; smart, didn’t talk much at first; now it’s “feed me” at 3:00 a.m.! Have taught him to sit, shake (both “hands”), roll over, + ring a bell. Such a joy in our lives tho’ now he’s quite attached to his dad (who gets whacked in the face for those 3:00 a.m. feedings).
😂 Ok get ready for some real advice: stop feeding him at 3:00 am 😂 Momo used to do the exact same thing and it was starting to drive us nuts! Eventually we read up on the issue and talked to our vet and were recommended to ignore the behavior until it goes away. It was a tough few days but I'm glad to say that we don't get up every night anymore!
My meezer started bugging me for breakfast earlier and earlier-- eventually I wound up with a dry-food dispensing robot that gives her a dose at 4 so she'll let me sleep and one at noon while I'm at work. Her strategies to wake me up have since intensified 😂
we adopted a siamese one month ago. he came from the worst situation the rescuers had ever seen. unbelievable filth and neglect. he is 8 years old. immediately after his rescue he showed a calm and loving disposition.from day one he is everywhere we are !! I get up in the middle of the night he instantly gets up too. he did need vet treatment for 4 issues but is fully recovered. zooms around the house each morning.how he survived with a wonderful demeanor inspite of his mistreatment says so much about the breed. his owner died with 20 full seal point in her house. they did not even have litter boxes. we named him Mr. Chu which is Thai for uncle.
I had a Siamese named PAWS for about 18 years. His name was short for Pretty Adorable Wild Siamese (PAWS) Siamese cats also have a crook in their tail that is about 1 inch from the end. The story behind it is that an Indian princess was going swimming and didn't have anywhere to put her ring. Her Siamese crooked his tail so he could hold her ring while she swam.
My mother's Siamese Queen Lucy would awaken the entire family at dawn, when the birds outside would start singing. She would approach us purring loudly, and rub her head into our faces. It was impossible to ignore her, and she got what she wanted, which was food. Four decades later, I still miss that intelligent and communicative cat.
Sounds like Lucy was a lot gentler than Momo 😉 He will paw at my face and start using claws if ignored. Never dangerously but enough to make his point.
Well he is beautiful. My Siamese looked exactly like him, except he was a snoeshoe. Sadly he passed last October. He was 17. I had him from birth, as his mom was my cat also. His name was Ezekiel 'Zeke'. He was the love of my life. I used to sing to him and he loved me to sing 'Will you marry me' by Neil Diamond.
Proud Meezer Mommy of six years! I adopted my Lulu as a 5-month old. She was born in the winter and boy did she get toasty! She looks like a totally different cat now. My favorite reason to have her is that she is so smart, empathetic, and engaging. She plays fetch and tag, does hi-fives for treats, and is currently adjusting to being strolled in a pram. Her vocabulary is always astonishing me, and I always have to wonder how much more she knows than she lets on! I could not have asked for a more complimentary companion. When she's older, I plan on getting a ragdoll kitten to be her companion because they are so cuddly and gentle, but still have the Siamese intellect and fashion sense. But Lulu will always be my puppycat, my baby, my Chocolate-dipped Primcess ❤️ thanks for sharing Momo and his exploits with us-- he is a charmer!
Thank you so much for your comment and for telling us about your Lulu! There is something so special about siamese. I've always had and loved cats but Momo... He's got a hold on me I didn't think possible. So I'm 100% with you!
Our Heidi was what I call a Siamese mix; half Siamese half something else. But she was built like a Siamese and had the Siamese personality- when she wanted something she wanted it right NOW!
A friend of mine had a siamese who loved to be picked up at the root of his tail. Until he showed me, I didn't believe it. But he " Banzai" did love it! He got all limp and droopy - and he purred. It was the most bizarre thing I'd ever seen. No accounting for taste, eh?
I've had 7 Siamese cats throughout lifetime. I'm 69 now and I acquired my first Siamese at age 11. Ever since then, for most of my life, I've had Siamese cats. I love all cats, but the Siamese breeds, by far, my favorite for all of the reasons you've mentioned. My Siamese kitties have been great companions for me when I needed someone to talk to when my human friends weren't available. Granted, they probably didn't have a clue what I was telling them, but they have been great company when other people weren't around. Their intelligence, sociability, and comical antics make them the best cats to share your life with!
Our blue point Sparky is exactly as described in this video. He has adopted ways to tell us what he wants. He came to us from a neighbour after they got a puppy. He is fantastically intelligent, and we call him out intergalactic cat person.
Hi! I have a Balinese, long haired Siamese and he is so loyal, loving, bossy and talkative🐾 We do have to brush him daily and his fur is so fine and lush. I call him my little boy. We did adopt ours from a shelter and are delighted😊
This is so true !!! Mimi has proper conversations with me , another reason to adopt Siamese cat is they are wonderful companions no matter what you do , from watching tv , to sitting listening to the music they just vibe with you .. sending lots of love to momo xx
I always said if anyone stole my Sonny Boy (blue) they would bring him back! Even the lady on desk when I picked him up from spaying. Lady was haughty to me and said "oh him! Way down at the end because he was so loud he was upsetting all the other cats"..that was my son! Still missing him ♥️
My two Siamese were very socialized almost to the point of being annoying..they came into my house with a 4 yr old and they were her play mates..my daughter used to carry them around like fur collars. They loved it. most nights we were all in my bed..♥️
Greetings from Atlanta, GA! I have a baby snowshoe named Fox Mews that I found in my driveway at 4 weeks old. He is very special, almost 15weeks old now, and has a big sister named Khloé that I got from our local shelter in March. Khloé looks like your Alice, so your stories give me hope that they’ll be best friends some day, it’s off to a slow start ;)
Hi Suzanne! Thank you for joining us all the way from Atlanta! That's really awesome! Cat relationships can take time and some relationships are stronger than others... I don't know why Alice and Momo love each other more than the others. I am sure that your babies will learn to get along and be family in no time!
Hi, I recently stumbled upon your channel and really identify, I too am a South African but live in Thailand, and recently a little cross Siamese-Burmese kitten came into my life, he has all the traits of a siamese (talkative, loyal, intelligent, etc. As said he is a cross with a mink coat with definate points but with mittens on all fours, this is something I've not seen in any Siamese-Burmese. PS keep the videos coming
I'd love to adopt a siamese I'm a senior citizen and they are very expensive. Soooo all I can do is listen to your blog. The rescues are expensive also. Plus they are fanatical about how they will be taken care if. Non profits want to much. They make you feel like you are a criminal. So unless I can find someone who will help me find one I'm just looking at you tube. My first of four was a siamese who lived until he was 18 years old. He was declared and an indoor cat. We all cried when he died of kidney failure. I had three others farm cats who also lived until they were 18-20 years old. BUT as much as loved They could never meet up to my siamese cat. Now that I'm 80 I'd like an adult siamese male but I don't think I will succeed.
they are the best that's because their attitude and pride some people hate them that's their problem I love my Siamese I had a lot when I was growing up and I got lucky to get my angel Susie keep it going
Siamese cats are very loyal. All of my friends that come over to my house don’t believe that I have a cat. My cat will hide when other people are over and only come out when they leave. I’ve had friends over for 3 days and she will hide the whole time. Just coming out early in the morning and sneaking to grab her food.
We just adopted a seal point Siamese and he’s so sweet and intelligent. All the same personality traits as mentioned in the video. Not a great cat if you’re looking for an aloof cat that keeps to itself. Siamese are all up in your business and need to know what you’re doing all day long 😆
That's true! Perfect example of this today: I was working at my desk with Alice, Luna and Maya sleeping in the same room and Momo screaming bloody murder at my feet because I dared to ignore him 🤣
Been a cat owner before but never a siamese... its a differnet animal compared to most cats. I just got my Lady Whisper this past year during quarantine. Couldn't have found a better friend to ride out the pandemic
@@MomoSiamese yeah, its pretty neat seeing how different she is. Im always surprised with what else she gets into just like a child (good reference btw) i almost have to anticipate her sometimes
Do you sell them? I live in San Diego. I’m interested in a seal point. Or open really. Love your kittens! I grew up wit one. She lived until she was.21.
We are getting two siamese-mix kitten siblings in february! They were so small when we met them for the first time - I'm excited to see how their fur changes ^___^ A question I had is, if siamese are more on the picky food side? Dont find anything particulary about that ^_^
To our experience not really but as they may be more sensitive towards UTC, proper food is a necessity. We give them Royal Canine Kitten 2nd age sterilized. We have our 3rd siamese (actually Qiara, our last is an Oriental longhair( bicolour torti) which are 98% siamese) and what we did notice that they can really crave for human food. Not that healthy but they do anything to get some, wether it be pork chops, smoked sausage, tortilla, omelettes etc etc. Careful not to turn your head else it may be gone. We really have to secure the kitchen and clean the sink & pots as they are fast, agile and excellent climbers
That is exciting! You must be so impatient to get your babies! With regards to your question regarding food, we currently feed Momo the Royal Canin Siamese food for adults. We used to feed supermarket brand (I know... horrible) to all of them but had to switch because Momo got sick every time he ate it. Turns out that Siamese cats tend to eat very fast and sometimes "forget" to chew. This can lead to them throwing up and not keeping any food down. The Royal Canin siamese food consists of bigger chunks which force the cat to slow down and chew properly. We've had no issues with this food since switching and it was recommended to us by our vet. Otherwise, we also supplement with wet food so they get additional hydration. I hope this helps. When in doubt, ask your vet what they recommend.
Our siamese Blue is not a purebred. We actually found him on the side of the road as a kitten. I did some research on siamese and their temperament and etc. He has all the traits of a Siamese.
We give attention to all our cats pretty equally. Yes, Momo is special and the reason we started this channel but behind the scenes, everyone gets the same amount of love, or rather, they get as much love as they want (since some want more than others). Momo is the alpha in our clowder so he does impose his rules on the others but there is never any serious fighting. Just some grumbling to get his way 😉 They all get along well with each other but like with humans, they have their favorites.
I am glad you noticed! We are slowly looking into branding and possible Momo merch (maybe including autographs now that you mention it 😉) but we don't think we are quite ready to launch anything yet.
All cats are different and have their own personalities of course. Especially with rescues, it's possible that the cat has not learned to be cuddly and trusting. We have one of those too: Ryuu is very independent and really just tolerates us and the other cats. He will occasionally cuddle and sit with us but mostly, he's just happy to live his life as he pleases.
The best channel for cats. I also have a Siamese cat. Greetings from me to you from Morocco. I always watch your news. I subscribe to your channel. My respects to you
Done fullpack support this channel you what i have cat seamese butsa sad cuz drop in may madam house so am very sad n depress untill now from lebanon but am philippines
We have a 4 year old siamese cat, he looks very similar to Momo. Indeed, he is very loyal, talkative, lovable, he is a great cat. He gets annoyed if we don't let him outside when he wants :))
We are working on it I promise! My hubby (the photographer/videographer) is away on business right now so I'm doing my best to get enough decent footage so we can post as soon as he is back!
First, I've owned a siamese since I was born, always had one and always will have one in my life until I die. With that said, I feel myself to be a master owner of Siamese, because first of all I love them irrespective of their quirkiness and bad habits, I overlook all that, because it doesn't matter. First, to those who are not a Siamese owner yet, let me tell you right now, never, absolutely never punish or otherwise spank your siamese, why, because they will never forgive you if you are dumb enough to pull that nonsense. Just never spank a siamese, no matter what they do or don't do, do not spank, ever! Once, I had a Siamese that got really angry at me because I refused to allow her to go outside. As you may imagine, Siamese do not like to be punished or told NO under any conditions because they just hate that! But..., I had one once that decided to knock off all the 500 books I had on a wall bookshelf, so one at a time my Siamese knocked everyone of my 500 books on the floor, then stop everything and look at me, then knock off another book and look at me, telling me how angry she was at me for not letting her go outside. Well, I knew better then to yell at her or correct her in any way, so after she finished knocking off all 500 books I picked her up and petted her and talked with her about how much I loved her, which seemed to calm her down a bit. In conclusion, if you want a life long partner, that is capable of showing you affection and real love then a Siamese is for you, if you want a cat that can talk to you, then a Siamese is for you. The other day, I went in the bathroom, my siamese jumped up on the counter, walked over and went down into the sink, and stared at the water faucet. I looked over at her water bowl on the floor, saw it was empty, and knew she wanted a drink of water, so I opened the water faucet up 1/4 turn, and she stood nearby, and licked the water coming out, until she was satisfied she'd drank enough water. You see, that is a clear indication or statement in fact, that she was thirsty and wanted a drink of water, a cat doesn't have a voice box, but the message they are sending you is unmistakable and crystal clear, you need only listen to them to know what they are telling you, that much is simple. Good luck with your Siamese, BTW, if you own a Siamese you automatically are my friend for life! God Bless you and yours.
I have had 3 modern Siamese and I'm sure they are much noisier and nervous than traditional Siamese. 2 of mine were absolutely one person cats, the 3rd was everyone's friend to the point he'd get really annoyed if visitors ignored him.
Yes! Momo also always needs to have the last word and talk back... It's unbelievable. Yesterday, he was being naughty so I scolded him and he just made eye contact and complained at me 😂 He sounded like a bratty teen going "But moooom"
Oh boy this is number 7 for me the Siamese community I love animals. My ex-fiance died from cancer she would taking anyting otherwise I'm more of a cat person I don't have to let it out to go to the bathroom I just got make sure he has plenty of food and water I might be gone for a day or three otherwise you talk about a Siamese cat everybody wants to know a lot of people want them and the best thing I tell them is to study the breed because there are extremely demanding males worse than females my angel Susie is not the first Siamese in my life are males they want outside really bad their territory like my yard guard p u r r my tuxedo
Hi there! We currently live in South Africa but both my husband and I are technically pavement specials 😉 Tobias was born in Johannesburg to German parents and I am French with a German mom and a French dad. I moved here about 12 years ago which is when we met. We both adore South Africa though and don't plan to leave anytime soon!
They are very dog-like. I trained mine to walk on a leash. We would take him to a park and people would do a double-take when they realized he was a cat and not a dog walking on a leash. Most cats will lay down and not walk with a harness on. Not him! He loved to go for walks!
just look at him he is the king as my angel Susie is Queen if you don't watch them you don't notice what they're telling you and don't tell me he never yelled at you told you you where are bad people human bad human now now
Super good information Siamese demanding and maybe you need to learn more they expect you there for them 24/7 your they're human there's a lot more to it and maybe if you go through a proper book before you do this I want feel so bad although you're taking your time and trying to teach people about a Siamese cat is completely different and most other cats you have man Coons that's not spelled right by the computer and lots of other cats I just love my Siamese they're sitting on my lap because I'm not giving them enough attention the picky about their food shrimp not cooked shrimp the list goes on and on another cats that are free particular also thank you for sticking up 4 my Siamese they are my favorite breed I'll go Thailand and see if I could import some proper Siamese I know it's doable and then you have the papers passports and did you get a Siamese that has been properly bread my mutt surprise I have five kittens otherwise 223 will be Siamese her bloodline as in her mother always had a Siamese and she was a tortoise shell
What do you mean by mean? If you mean aggressive, then no, not as far as I have experienced. They are however high maintenance and can get difficult when not looked after carefully. Have you watched our video about 10 things to consider before adopting a siamese? We outline those issues there.
It's a popular belief that circulates in some countries (Russia for example), that Siamese are mean. I'm a second time Siamese owner (my previous cat was and my current is a mutt Siamese like Momo) and I can tell you that they are mean only if you don't look further than surface level. They have less tolerance for things they don't want than other cats. For example my cat doesn't like to be picked up often and will bite if he doesn't want to be picked up, whereas many other cats will tolerate it. Generally they are very affectionate and sweet pets. I think the misconception stems from the fact that people often ignore some their pets' preferences or character traits.
There are good conversationalist you work too long Angel Susie will tell me in the tone I love meow that she is not happy with me being gone otherwise when she wants love she has a different tone of voice that's number 5 number 6 she snuggles with me under the blankets she was raised and a cold household I lived in a tent had propane BBQ for heat at night I would turn the barbecue off for safety otherwise when she has a little snuggle paws I made sure she was underneath the blankets on my right side that is still my Angel Susie's spot purpura usually sleeps up by my head
Thank you for admitting he's not a purebred I tried to send you a picture I don't know how to do it I hope it came through my angel Susie her mother was a tortoise shell I think she was part Siamese because every second or third letter she would have a Siamese or two some ran away some got hit on the road breaks your heart like always lightning p u r r wow like Lightning McQueen had a lightning bolt down the middle of her nose yes that was a road she had two little yellow topped Siamese Tufts as an ears Tales feet they ran away otherwise the corporate of all the Siamese look down the road about six tenths of a mile I could see him cross the road towards the ditch and my little turtle shell will be gone across the ditch towards him I seen dad on the road one time that broke my heart I know that's their dad that might even be my tortoise shells father that was my Goldie girl Brown basically with gold and orange coloring she was a beautiful thing reason to prefer Siamese yes there are more demanding I call that affection because they do listen more than a normal cat and they will tell you how they feel my cats love people food my Siamese just looks at me really human you're eating that stuff because they're smarter than us even dog people usually like a Siamese I know some that likes also and what comes to the food you can get tuna in water at your local Dollar General or grocery mart salmon and the can if I can sneak in chicken without them eating it I get the skin and chew on the bones otherwise they like pizza otherwise they get chicken chunks out of a can don't be afraid to cut up a little steak form I don't get steak very often so when I get some they get some I'm glad that they left me in their family and I can come up with more reasons the keep orphans ditch line dumpster doggie chew toy here comes the queen Angel Susie she's just an offspring that happened they keep me alive that's best to get one not just a Siamese any shelter animal big dog or cat maybe a bird everybody is different please support your local shelters thank you you can share this if you don't mind
why me I am desirable and I'm sophisticated that's all need to tell you human now let me give you a papyrus and snuggle and when we sleepy I might call you up a little bit didn't know that you didn't get away from me you're good human or bad human and everyone has their own little per hyperlow / hyper Loper
OG they're trainable can you imagine you training a cat without breaking his spirit the cat trains you my angel Susie which has Tiger stripes down her the back of her neck there are not pronounced you have to look to see him why do you love Siamese because they tell you to are the put their claws into you lick you and give you little bites on the end of your nose and if it's anything like my angel Susie what's it gets called she snuggles under the blankets with me and she is getting older she used to always talk to me she would prefer a little bit when she wanted under the blankets anymore she just sniff three times sniff sniff sniff of course I don't sleep very good I still love my little lady why why do you like Siamese because they are sophisticated well the computer doesn't get the pride how they like looking in a mirror at themselves yes they are sophisticated sophisticated cat and they own you I would save everyone that I could if I had the means I don't how to show you a picture of my big mutt black and white cat and my angel Susie Angel start with Angel and Susie capital a Susie has two s's in it SU ssie my angel Susie another savior cat thank God I found her and I love their attitudes this is not my first Siamese I don't think it will be my last I think about getting her bread I just need proper Siamese with too much paper I'm not paying for her get pregnant because I heard her attitude will change a lot after that so if you know more than me please tell me about getting my Siamese impregnated because I know she doesn't like normal cats sure, what counts and their cat Hood if you got an old man he don't want you to call you up there so take a while to get adjusted to each other already know that we need people from different parts of the country with different siameses keep the brand and breed strong
All poopy you got a tortoise beeline I had to tortoiseshells and a neighbor's which is where I think Angel Susie came from I do expect to get 100% Siamese they will have the attitude I know that and I love tortoiseshells awesome which Pride do you live in yes I had that many I had 2 price of felines on the farm that's called a pride not a piece and yes they all fight and is more about communication and it's about what you look like other Siamese yes they definitely have an attitude you don't look like me you are below me I guess that's why I am her human
they're not man-made dear Kitty made oh yeah he's pretty handsome you're not as good as me but he give me love and attention doesn't want to jump me bite my neck and think he's happy that's part of a Siamese also I see my little lady Angel Susie wait till the last minute when the man thought he had her she's rolling her eyes back put her front claws in his cheeks amda tear up his manhood with her rear claws after three attempts it was over was kind of funny I don't know if she would let a Siamese looking male do that you know they are self-centered and love looking in the mirror it doesn't look like her it doesn't have a chance
purebreds are really hard to find my angel Susie has little tabby Stripes stripes down the back of her neck into her fur and we have to study further if they infants when they're in cooler weather they will not turn his dark as fast two more studying don't let the people of piss you off about true-bred Siamese they have too much money to spend on a feline that I got for free and it has just as much attitude and More Love purr purr purr I want to snuggle and eat the blankets with you Dad
reason number two you are a bad human you will learn how to treat me with dignity and respect I'm either a queen or the king depending on the sex of the feline
reason number three human you work too long today I got to yell at you because you got home late you went in early got home late bad human restricted hours the best what I heard so far
fancy that is a Siamese attitude I am sophisticated beeline as in beeline a computer is messing up as in a cat I noticed a lot of Siamese moron Facebook and RU-vid they're making their cat back you have the purest do I I know mutts anymore they have all the characteristics and are more friendly the ones that need the pure ones going to pay fur something with papers and you are price those I need a half-breed for free and if you study Siamese they do have medical conditions show start out with a mutt try and find a good breeder to breed it with and eventually we'll get rid of them medical conditions dog breeds have a lad that also when it comes to breeding animals you need to put a different DNA stream in there every now and then when you have something that stands out in this solid you take your $2,000 cat and kiss my ass all I want is to get my lady pregnant and if it doesn't look Siamese it'll be more Siamese cuz my little lady is not that long compared to a proper Siamese I've had them when I was young she is a mutt did I got for free she doesn't cry as much especially when she's in heat do you want papers you're not worth my money Roy love what you have as a companion might be better than you human companion sometimes
