I agree, the B7 A4 is not just the best looking A4, it's the best looking compact 4 door saloon ever. Back in 2008 I wanted to buy my beautiful wife a new car and suggested a Camry or a Volvo S40 but she wanted an A4 and insisted on the B7 even though the new B8 had just arrived at our local dealership. It was over my budget even after a hefty discount on the 'old' B7 2.0 TFSI model but I bit the bullet. Today I'm glad for her choice, such great taste. She still loves and drives it today, 150k km on the clock with no major problems.
I own a 2007 A4 1.8 T and absolutely love it. Great sound, Ton of boot space, simple design, powerful engine. Speedo inching toward 200k kms but still packs a punch even if pressing the accelerator at 120 KM/hr.
Good video. Miss my old 2006 B7 2.0 TFSI! Had it until 315,000 km or 195,000 miles. It was bullet proof for many years but once it got past the age of 15, small problems seemed to appear ever more frequently. O2 sensor, thermostat, blower relay water damage, small oil leak with the vacuum pump, exhaust pipe holders. And the damn rust, not just in the arches but also in the rear and small rust dots appeared even in the doors. The car was on the original chassis parts so that was going to be expensive sooner or later and didn't feel like throwing in more money due to the rust.
I have a b7 a4 cabriolet and after 110.000 miles still beautiful to drive and looks incredibile, I'm planning to keep this car for a very long time. Ciao
Yeh agreed. As soon as Audi switched to that bit corporate grill with the B7 it bought it bang up to date and has aged very very well ever since. I also took someone out in mine and they commented that they thought I only had really old cars. I was like this is an old(ish) car!
I have a 2006 A4 B7 2.0TFSI quattro SE. 157000 miles on the clock and climbing. Ive had it since 67k in 2018, its never broken down but I've spent a fair bit on maintenance, like cam follower, and carbon cleaning. Also upgraded with stainless exhaust, high flow cat, gear box recon, upgraded clutch, Bilstein coil overs, anti roll bars, and remap. Its just had a new turbo as was getting some under boost codes and WOW! This thing flies now. Best looking A4.
Its not bad for an old girl that's for sure. Plan was always to replace it with a B8 S4 but now not sure! We'll see. We're not using it much so for now, for a £3.5k car it's a bargain keeper.
sorry to be so offtopic but does anyone know a tool to log back into an instagram account..? I was dumb forgot my password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me!
@Johnathan Harley thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
i have a b7 and i have same opinion. Best looking, feel more exotic, when im in the car i feel in a sport car. Interior is nice and well made and the entire car is well made and handling is top.
B7 - A4 Avant Quattro with 1.8T and S line suspension, legend car. With chip tuning 200HP and 7s to 62 mph. This engine is the best 4 cylinder engine petrol ever from Audi.
I absolutley agree b7 is just perfect all rounder car to use every day, Iam looking for b7 with 3.0tdi manual version for best compromise between power and fuel consumption, and also comfortable transport (traveling 2-3hours) , wish me luck 🙂
I bought a B7 2.0 tfsi, five days later I got a low oilpressure warning light. I have not yet repaired it, I suspect it to be something with the pump, well, I bought a spare engine to either pick for parts or do a engine swap. But I cant say my B7 ownership is of to a great start. but I can tell you this, it feels so freaking nice to drive, and it moves for sure.
@@damos_cars yeah, so do I. Seems like a great car, unfortunately the previous owners have all done long life services only, I'm defiantly gonna change the oil way more often then the long life service says you can drive in between services. If I get it up and running again that is
I have a 2006 A4 B7, TDI 2L, Cabriolet. I love it. S- Line. A mechanic I spoke to, said it was a great engine and the last great one they made in that line up
I was gonna buy a Volvo C30 but I got the B7 A4 Quattro for a better price and no regrets. The B7 line is amazing. I hope I can maintain it appropriately.
HI I am agree with you : french and have one since december 2006 ( B6 avant between 2002 and 2006 ) for the design don t forget that B7 was first audi car to have new style single frame .......in october 2004 I went to see B7 on Paris mondial car . when you compare with other model different brand it is sure that B7 is not so older look than a bmw or mercedes or french brand .
My only gripe with mine is the rear seats don't go completely flat, yeah a huge issue lol The 1.8T with a tune is amazing, nothing like the B7 these days!
Looking to get one of these for my next car as I have a little one on the way and need more room, upgrading from a vw polo. What’s the 2.0tfsi engine like I’m after something nippy but for reliability would you recommend the 2.0tdi ?
I'm the wrong person to ask about diesels. The TFSI in this with 118k miles on has been brilliant. Never missed a beat. Just keep any eye for the cam follower.
@@damos_cars The B7 2.0 TDI actually has a 70 litre fuel tank, which can approach 750 miles + or 1000/1100 km range, making it still one of the longest range cars around. I remember filling my 2006 Avant S-line in Bordeaux and driving back to Lancashire and still having one quarter tank left. At almost 228,000 miles/367,000 km it still runs like new on the original Turbo and clutch. I've spent a bit maintaining it but it is a car that returns the favours and it still looks very good, only needing new wings to shine, with no other rust anywhere and a hard wearing still hardly faded interior. Effective Sat Nav with wireless Android Auto and front/rear cameras has transformed it into a very modern tractable car too.
No the b6 is best 😁 I’m slightly biased being on 4 b6 owners clubs and owning 2 of them. However both the 2.0tdi and 2.0tfsi were inferior in re,inability to the 1.9tdi and the 1.8t
I think I was slightly biased by having a B7! I think the softer lines of the B6 were very of their time. Both nice cars really that moved the game on for Audi in this sector. Cheers. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@damos_cars no problem I always like to support fellow creators I enjoy watching. And thanks for the reply and great comments about the b6. I do like both to be honest and often get tempted by a b7 avant to replace my b6 avant but I can’t sell out my b6 buddies 😂 got the cabrio b6 too just a saloon s4 b6 to go
@@thedetailingdoctor5746 Yeh, stick the B6's then! Sounds like you have all the bases covered. As a detailer make sure you don't watch my latest video where I attempt a DIY paint correction... You might be appalled! Cheers
Any thoughts on the very tappety sound the 2.0 TFSI makes when warm? Pretty awful and apparently 'they all do that, Sir.' Undermines the cool nature of the car.
@@damos_cars I take that amusement in the spirit intended :) but in all seriousness, its a premium motor and sounds awful when warm. Not great- in fact downright disappointing. Still, thanks for the reply.
Subjective opinion here but I prefer the more modern look of the B7. Think it still looks fresh amongst modern Audi's even today. Personal opinion though! Each to their own. Cheers.
I have my B7 2.0 tfsi since 3 years ago from 147.000km now 240.000km 0 problems, but i speend 10.000 eur in tunning and look. Now 281HP But in January i will make 400HP+ on it, so is a demon 😂😂😂
@@damos_cars im thinking the tops mount be be a little past it, something i will be looking in to very soon. the roads are terrible where i live but ive defiantly had comfier riding cars.
@@nodwaa9227 Definately not a pillow sort of luxury. It fits more crusing/track needs and not so much the gravel and dirt roads and side-street potholes of daily life. I don't mind the spring rate but I'm planning on smaller rims (high-profile tires) and a bit more ground clearance. Whomever had mine last bottomed it quite a lot!
This car will go down as a classic when it's old enough! But for now this is the choice of people living on wellfare, living in shitty houses, being behind on rent... Nothing the Audi can help about but if you turn up with a B7 A4 today everyone thinks you are Riff Raff 😂
It has some flaws... but the B7 has aged well and it looks more like the modern car generations. black S-line interior is a must! and some 19” wheels give It the proper stance. 😍 stay away from the 2.0T and Multitronic models!
Yeh, I agree. Ours is a bit tired now and other than routine maintenance its not had lots of love. It is a 2.0TFSI though! So far, it's been ok. I really do enjoy driving it. Cool cars, without any over engineered bits you don't need but still with the bits you do need. Thanks for watching.
nochocolatemuffins4u *2.0T and 2.0TFSI up to 2011. biggest problem is the Oil consumption... and the direct injection creates carbon buildup at the valves. They also use a K03 turbocharger from the smaller 1.8T engine, those break at 230hp. 200hp is almost the upper limit. a later 1.8T with 163hp is the better choice!
@@nochocolatemuffins4u get the 2.0 way cheaper to mod, and better in my opinion. Certainly is fun tuning and modifying a 4 banger. Some drink oil however but mine doesn’t. Get the 2 bro it’s way better trust
