Some years ago in LoL they classified champions by role: "top", "mid", "adc", and so on. But recently they've changed that classification system and they've renamed it as MMO-esque classes: tank, fighter (warrior), slayer (rogue), mage, marksman and controller (support) ; and more over they've divided these classes into subclasses: so tank has vanguard (offensive) and warden (defensive), fighter has Juggernaut and diver. Slayer has Assassin and skirmisher. Mage has burst and Battlemage. Controller has enchanter (healer) and catcher (cc), and while marksman is undivided they could divide them as ranger and gunslinger. So I think that's the system they could use... Or alternatively champions in LoL are classified as having a primary class and a secondary class, so for example Ahri is primarily a mage and an assassin, or Sona is a controller and a mage. And in LoL you find champions of every class in every race and region. But then moreover they might implement a spec system with more limitations. So if you want to role play as a mageseeker you might only be able to if you're a human from Demacia
Yordles are the most magical (spirit) , Vastaya are a hybrid race of half-humans and half-vastayasharei (spirit), I think magic can be divided in elemental magic, spirit magic, celestial magic and void magic. Vastayas are allowed in Demacia but they're very magical beings so they tend to avoid Demacia because of the petricite. In theory there shouldn't be any vastaya in Zaun but if Arcane is 100% canon there were bat vastaya in the show, so that's something that could (or could not) change in the future... I think they're going to want to homogenise that you can create a character of any race in any region and be any class, while keeping classes mechanics unique, so that only controllers can heal and so on
I think any race should be able to play any class, but I think your region of origin should determine the classes you can play. This obviously only works if they actually let you pick where you are from, which I hope they do (even if you can't explore the entirety of the region at the start).
I think every faction should have access to every class, but there should be sub-class faction-based specs. Like there are mages everywhere but freljordians have ice magic and shurimans have sand magic for example
Smite is a MOBA that is like a 3rd person shooter. Your character has 4 skills and you have to aim all your AAs and skills, and itr sort of works. I think a hybrid system would work better but it would be interesting if they decided to go down that road.
Where did Riot confirm this post their Oct 12th announcement? Here is what I got - Some cinematics canon, some are not - Arcane is canon - Song of Nunu is canon They never mentioned LoR
LoR is canon. The head of IP confirmed that everything riot make going forward is canon to open singular universe. LoR is the only thing carrying the Lore forward at a steady pace. Everything that happens in LoR is canon. We also know that the IP team is working closely with ALL runeterra based games. Including Project F and the MMO, LoR is the lore foundation of what all runeterra games will be built on.
