7 Secret Tips for Super Flavorful Tom Yum | Proven Delicious Tom Yam Goong Recipe
I cook Tom Yum this way, and the result has never disappointed me. It is full of flavor.
Restaurant-quality shrimp Tom Yum soup.

Tom Yum Soup with Shrimp
Servings: 4
Ingredients:
½ kg of fresh shrimp, skinless
5 shallots, medium size
5 cloves of garlic
4 large red chilies, remove the seeds
4 red Thai chilies
2 galangal, thinly sliced
4 lemongrass stalks, cut into 4 cm of length
6 fresh kaffir lime leaves, torn
2 tomatoes, cut into small dice
2 cups straw mushroom or oyster mushroom, cut into large pieces
2 cups champignon mushrooms, cut into 4 pieces
1 cup enoki mushrooms
½ cup of fresh coriander leaves, washed and coarsely chopped
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon tamarind, soaked in 1/3 cup hot water
2 tablespoons of fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon Namprik Pao (Thai chili paste)
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
1 Tablespoon evaporated milk or coconut milk
1 teaspoon Thai fish sauce
salt and pepper (to taste)
Optional: 4 large prawns with shells for garnish
Cooking Instructions:
1. Cut large red chilies and remove the seeds, cut the lemongrass into 4 cm long pieces, thinly slice the galangal.
2. Put the garlic, shallots, large seedless red chilies, red Thai chilies, and vegetable oil into a blender. Blend them until smooth.
3. In a medium-sized soup pot, heat the vegetable oil. Add all the ingredients mixed in step #2. Sautee the ingredients until fragrant.
4. Add galangal, lemongrass, lime leaves, and Namprik Pao. Sautee again about 3 minutes.
5. Add the broth. Boil on low heat for 10 minutes.
6. Add the mushrooms and tamarind water, and simmer for about 7 minutes.
7. Add salt, pepper, and lime juice.
8. Add shrimp and cook them for 1 minute.
9. Remove from the stove and transfer to a plate.
10. Sprinkle with tomatoes and cilantro (chopped into small pieces).
11. Optional: garnish with crusty, sautéed large prawns.
12. Serve the soup while it is still hot.
Shrimp Broth/Stock
1 cup shrimp heads
1 cup shrimp shells
1 liter of water
Cooking Instructions
1. Heat a saucepan and add a little vegetable oil.
2. Sautee the shrimp heads and shells until the color is bright red/cooked.
3. Add water, boil over low heat for 45 minutes, and strain.
Sop Tom Yum Dengan Udang
(untuk 4 porsi)
Bahan-bahan:
½ kg udang segar, tanpa kulit
5 butir bawang merah ukuran sedang
5 siung bawang putih,
4 cabe merah besar, buang bijinya
4 cabe rawit merah
2 lengkuas, iris tipis
4 batang serai, potong-potong sepanjang 4 cm
6 lembar daun jeruk purut segar, sobek
2 buah tomat, potong dadu kecil
2 cups jamur merang atau jamur tiram, potong besar
2 cups jamur champignon, potong jadi 4
1 cup jamur Enoki
½ cup daun ketumbar segar, cuci bersih dan potong kasar
1 sendok teh gula pasir
1 sendok makan asam jawa, seduh dengan 1/3 cup air panas
2 sendok makan air jeruk nipis segar
1 sendok makan Namprik Pao (Thai chili paste)
1 sendok teh minyak sayur
1 sendok makan susu evaporasi atau santan
1 sendok teh sauce ikan
garam dan merica (secukupnya)
Optional: 4 udang besar dengan kulitnya sebagai hiasan
Cara Memasak:
1. Belah cabai merah besar dan buang bijinya, potong serai jadi potongan sepanjang 4 cm, iris tipis lengkuas.
2. Masukkan bawang putih, bawang merah, cabai merah besar tanpa biji, cabai rawit merah, dan minyak sayur ke dalam blender. Blender sampai halus.
3. Dalam panci sup berukuran sedang, panaskan minyak sayur. Tambahkan bahan-bahan yang
telah dicampur pada langkah # 2. Tumis bahan-bahan yang telah dihaluskan tersebut sampai harum.
4. Tambahkan lengkuas, serai, daun jeruk, dan Namprik Pao. Tumis lagi sekitar 3 menit.
5. Masukkan kaldu udang. Rebus dengan api kecil selama 10 menit.
6. Tambahkan jamur dan air asam,Didihkan lagi selama sekitar 7 menit.
7. Tambahkan garam, merica, dan perasan jeruk nipis.
8. Tambahkan udang dan masak selama 1 menit.
9. Angkat dari kompor dan pindahkan ke piring saji.
10. Taburi dengan tomat dan daun ketumbar (yang telah dipotong kecil-kecil).
11. Optional: hiasi dengan udang besar tumis yang berkulit.
12. Sajikan selagi sop masih panas.
Kaldu Udang:
1 cup kepala udang
1 cup kulit udang
1 ¼ liter air
Cara Memasak:
1. Panaskan panci saus dan tambahan sedikit minyak sayur.
2. Tumis kepala dan kulit udang sampai warnanya kemerahan / matang.
3. Tambahkan air, rebus dengan api kecil selama 45 menit, dan saring.

Tom yam itu rasanya asem 2 seger gitu kan ya. Anget juga. Pertama kali makan Tom ya itu di Thailand pinggir jalan. Enakk bgt. Warna nya Persia sama kayak ini. So delicious
