Hi Nick, Good advice BUT, some of us cannot help ourselves, Tomatoes I will not be sowing until after the first week of March lesson learned on that one, Thanks for sharing Take care and stay safe.
Thanks Ronald. Yes tomatoes are plants that I’ve always experienced problems with in the past. I’m as guilty as the next gardener to be keen to get growing . Time to sit on my hands for a bit though😃. Take care. Nick
I used to put the seeds into containers with dry soil mix and water from the top, but then the seeds would swim around and the soil column would take forever to soak up the water. I found that bottom watering before seeding was the best solution too. I hadn’t thought about the problems that might be created with stored water - thanks for the tips 😊👍
Superb video, great information and easy to follow and understand! A perfect beginner's guide and not a bad reminder for the rest of us!! Thanks so much Nick!! Have a fabulous day, my wonderful friend!! 💚
Hi nick just come over from Steve dig wells site and I agree with mags the video had some great tips for a relatively newbie gardener like me and the format as she said was really succinct and enjoyable, thanks for sharing and stay safe David 👍👍
fully agree with not being too keen. should be No 1. You see so many people and youtubers sowing early ok with heat and grow lights but otherwise you are just wasting your time as other sowings will easily catch up it’s so tempting though!!!
Thanks Simon. I’m as guilty as most gardeners to try and start things growing as soon as possible. However I know from experience a plant started off too early in the season will get leggy and not do as well as one started off later with plenty of light. Take care. Nick
Aaaaaaaand that's where micro greens come in handy!! We all want to see things growing, but many, most, all of us...start far too early with main crop seeds1! great tips, I may have to try this growing thing one of these years:))
Cheers mate. Yes micro greens are a great idea at this time of the year. Glad you liked the tips. I’m as guilty as the next gardener in starting things off a bit early. It’s hard not to scratch the itch! Speak later my friend 😃👍Take care. Nick
Ryan A certain person (Wont mention his name) william his name is says you copy everything he does. Looking forward to see how many plants you get in your new tunnel.
Nick, Number 7! This is the hardest thing for me, to not begin something in January, then it just cascades into a forest of plant trays. I am holding back this year, as my grow room has shrunk in size and I have to be a bit more careful of what and how many to plant. Thanks for the great tips. Be safe and stay well. Catherine
Thanks Catherine. That tip is the hardest thing for most of us gardeners to follow! I have learned from bitter experience that tomatoes started off too early in the season don’t do too well. Micro greens can be grown indoors at any time of the year if you want to get something growing. Take care. Nick
Hi Stew. Certainly is . Thought it was worth a mention because there are loads of full water butts at the moment and there’s the temptation to use it on seedlings. Take care. Nick
Thanks Cara. It’s definitely one of the most difficult things to follow. Particularly when you are itching to get started for the new season! Take care. Nick
