Dear Antonio! Shaving tip: you need to work the lather more, until it gets as thick as whipped cream. This isolates better than the thin layer you applied, and thus keeps the skin and hairs warmer, for a better shave. To get a better lather with less work, aquire a shaving cup, bowl or scuttle, with an uneven surface, like ripples or dimples. Also, you should use more time on applying the lather, as the brushing too helps lifting the hair into the whipped cream lather. Always great to see a video on shaving! Sincerely Jeppe Schultz

Hi Antonio! Over the last 11 months I have gotten into "traditional wet shaving, " i.e. safety and straight razor shaving. Some people in the "community" use the One Blade while others have their own preferences. The one thing you could add to these steps is "building a good lather." To help get the shaving cream or soap under and around the hairs (also lifting them some), face lathering is a great technique. By taking those few minutes, you add better protection in both cushion and slickness. A good reference on RU-vid is "Nick Shaves".

Great videos! How are you able to create so much content while travelling? Anyways I have always loved the idea of using a safety razor or even a straight edge, but knowing how clumsy I am, the notion of using a straight edge is slightly unappealing. So I have been sticking to normal razor blades for my shaving. However I love the notion of actually taking a little time out of your day to swir that brush around and carefully applying the cream to your face. Almost like a good morning meditation. Using a "real" razor-blade just adds to that a certain suave-ness, and the oneblade gets a plus for not being dangerous for old clumsy myself.

A few months ago I bought the one blade advertised by Rick Harrison of the show Pawn Stars. I like that razor and it came with a year's worth of razor blades. I bought it at Walmart, in the products as seen on tv section.

Any suggestion for a Safety Razor? I use the Fusion Cartridge and looking into a safety razor. Was looking at the Merkur 34c or the Parker 99R. I did look at the One Blade but it is too expensive and you can only use a Specialized Feather Blades for it

I moisturize just after shaving, when my face is kind-of-dry. I experienced that technique to moisturize my skin way better than if I did it in the night or a longer time after shaving. And I don't even use some fancy expensive product, Dove creme works completely fine (maybe I'll try some other brands out).

How much longer does something like OneBlade take compared to a traditional razor? I follow the steps above, like shaving after a shower and letting the shaving soap sit on my face, but I use a normal 4 blade razor and can get my whole face twice pretty quickly. If it is longer, is it worth the extra time?

I wonder if it is easy to disassemble the OneBlade. When I want to make a full cleanup of my safety razor I just need to take off the shaft and then I have three pieces. The OneBlade has screws as far as I see it.

Hi Antonio, big fan and great video! One question... First you say to be careful not to shave the same areas as you may get razor burn then you lather up and shave again? Isn't that the same thing or no because you lathered again before re-shaving?

Would you recommend this style of safety razor over a traditional safety razor for starting out? I bought one of those Van Der Hagen razors from Wal Mart and some Cremo Original shave creme applied with my hands a while back. I bought this because I was getting bad razor bumps and rash on my neck using cartridge razors. I started using it and was not happy. Shaving only with the grain was basically pointless, and I would get irritated even worse by going against the grain because I had to go over it like 3 times. I reverted back to traditional 5 blade razors and I shave once a week ( if I shave any more than twice a week I will be bloody and in pain and look like an idiot). I still have basically permanent razor rash and bumps on my neck that I live with from shaving once a week. The only way they will go away is if I leave my beard grow for probably a couple months, which I can't do because I can't even grow a full beard. Can anybody help me? Antonio- I just read your free ebook, and am thinking about investing in that razor you linked to in the article, and all the equipment.

Been shaving with a double edged razor for years, an excellent and cheap way to shave. The razor baldes cost next to nothing, and I can get at least 6 shaves out of a single blade. Picked up a feather all stainless steel about five years ago, it shall outlive me easily.

I think if you're using even a cartridge razor, taking the step from pre-bottled shaving cream to using a shaving brush and lathering up your own is gonna make the biggest difference. I use a shaving soap that comes in a plastic bowl, you add a bit of water, lather it up using the brush, and then apply to the face with the brush.

Just go for a DE razor, merkur or muhle with feather blades or astra. Also for shaving cream proraso/pacific shaving both have natural ingredients. Synthetic brushes are softer and are great too, no need for badger hair and animal abuse. For lather need a bowl which he didn't use in this video.

The problem I've always had with shaving is the fact that the shaving cream I use (Barbasol) has never had any slickness whatsoever. Now while it's thick and provides protection, because it's not slippery enough, the blade tends to drag across my skin rather than glide more. I've now just started putting lotion on my face after a shower and then put the cream on and got a really nice, smooth irritation free shave. This is the way to go!

Shaving with a DE razor was one of the first steps I took towards improving how I present myself. Now I'm moving on to the clothing of a gentleman, hoping to set myself apart from the rest of the college students. You have been a great influence for me. Making your own lather as you do is a wonderful way to start your mornings, and I especially like the new idea you have given me to brush my teeth after applying the lather.

Is there ANY WAY to shave without getting your face "grey"afterwards? What I mean is the part of your skin where you shaved becomes more greyish and different color than the rest of the skin. Any way to prevent that from happening?
