LOVE your content. I'm turning 39 this year and I'm so over clutter in my life physically, digitally, socially, etc. I've been editing down my possessions, my digital footprint, my schedule, work hours, social commitments, even friendships that havent resulted in mutual respect and authenticity.

I am a minimalist and yet I know no one in my personal life who is too. I have my mindset and they have theirs. I don't care if they understand or approve of my way of life. It is my life and I live by my values. I don't judge them and really don't care if they judge me. I feel I am helping the planet by living intentionally and not contributing to waste. The way I live makes me happy and feels purposeful.

Yesterday my hubby and I picked cherries and today we made squash of them. Nice to see that you help to garden with your grandpa. Your thoughts are very fresh and relaxed, and that's in line with one good point: to have less stress & overwhelm, and find freedom from the rat race, which comes with consumerism and status-cravings. I’ve never liked labels. I’ve always leaned towards minimalist lifestyle. But I don’t like to pigeonhole things. One saying I’ve seen, that’s made a big impact on me and I never forgot it, is to live simply so that others can simply live. I don’t like to waste anything I can avoid. And I don’t like consume more than I need.

I realize that it's still winter in Finland, but seeing you in a wool sweater in the middle of July gives me the heebie jeebies. Nevertheless, I will say that you look like a very normal ordinary person, but we all know that you possess the superpower of minimalism. Thank you for using your superpower for good, and sharing your insights to help others. And thanks to you and your grandfather for allow us to appreciate the beauty of a Finnish raspberry garden. @@SunnyKindJourney I am an American, though used to be a travel agent before forced retirement, so not geographically challenged as your average American. It was a joking comment as I know that winter ends in Finland on July 1st, and doesn't begin again until August 1st. Kidding, always kidding. However, the average American might think of Finland as the Land of Ice and Snow because you grow the world's supply of Reindeer. Thank you for the temperature conversion; however, again, travel agent superpowers, one of which is being able to convert temperatures. Nevertheless, when the forecast high temperatures are reaching 100F degrees (38C degrees) this week and last week, watching anyone wearing a sweater in the Northern Hemisphere provides a heebie jeebies moment. Please forgive my judgment. Be well and happy.

I love your content! I’m so ready to simplify my life and completely see the benefits it could bring for my free time and mental health. I have young children and work outside my home so I’m not progressing to where I would want to be just though lack of time without sacrificing time with them. They don’t understand what I’m doing they just want to play haha but I’ll get there ❤

the social situation applies to everything, quitting smoking/drugs/alcohol, or wanting to live a different life, like eating healthier or sleeping earlier or quitting clubbing or heck, even working or having kids whilst your pals aren't. change in relationships is normal and should not be feared just because of decluttering/minimalism, however as you are doing, should be noted.

I can't fathom living in a way that you can only buy the absolute necessities. If you're in a rough spot financially, that's one thing, but I couldn't live like that long term. It must be an absolutely smothering existence.

I completely understand, as also I feel OK with having possessions that bring positivity into my life in a profound way. I call my kind of minimalism "simple living" and I'm not much for rules which make life complicated. But for those who enjoy and need that, I think it is OK, because we are individuals after all. One learns to look at life and oneself more calmly when not being dependent on having the same norms and arrangements as other people. I wouldn't do a smothering existence, either. I love to feel independent, creative, stress-free, healthy, generous, caring, mostly glad, and content with much less than what is needed to "keep up appearances". Sometimes I'm inspired by Blue Zones, or my older relatives and their DIY ways of organizing life, sometimes by vegans and people homesteading, sometimes by frugal or minimalist RU-vidrs. How do you yourself fathom a decent, good life long term?

Smothering! Not at all! It is liberating. And life feels much lighter, easier, and simpler. Not for everyone, I know, of course. I’m 69 and trying now to have only the essentials. I would like to be an extreme minimalist but not quite ready for that! 😊

Sour charies 🍒 , do you make marmalade from them? It is simply delicious 😋, I do it every year if is no frost when they bluming. I have a question, do you buy anything for your soul? I mean, if is any that you don't need but you buy it anyway, not nessesery expensive stuff, just a couple of €? e.g I bought myself fountain pen for 15€. I like your chanel and simple explanations.

I usually eat them just like this straight from the tree :) And of course I also buy things that are "wants" and not just "needs". I think we all do, just be intentional with those as well and you are good to go 🤗

I think that minimalism is the wrong name, I think that it should be intentionality. How I chose to live my life is very different to how you chose to live your life but we’re both living our lives intentionally.

I'd say that's quite accurate. I talk a lot about intentional living on my channel. The same principals could be applied to many different lifestyles and values. For me the intention is about minimalism so I choose to use those words that also resonate with my audience better 🌿
