Wow! Such a blessing to come across your videos! This video is so helpful and encouraging- definitely will share! We are praying and in the process of purchasing land in the country. Have been practicing while in the city. Saw a short clip of your fruit trees- Have you tried the Ellen White tree planting method?
@@ormedolugo364 so true ormedo! We have been blessed to leave the city and find a country property to build our own house and plant our own food. The best part of it all is to look back and see how God has helped us with this journey every step of the way.
I resonate with this video so much, and agreed on every point you made about country living. I absolutely love your delineation between living in the country and having a country living mindset. That’s not an intuitive part of moving to the country, but it’s such an important and blessed part of the journey! There are so many lifestyle and mindset shifts as you transition to country living. The frugality, independence, and sustainability in raising your own provisions, heating with wood, using well water, etc. is one of our favorite things about country living. There are many sacrifices compared to modern day conveniences, but every one is worth it. Thank you so much for sharing this.
Hahahaha!!!! Yes! I'm a RU-vid farmer too!! Pay less in chiropractor costs..... Haven't had a bad back since working in the farm. Much more fit and strong.
We bought 40 Idaho acres in 2019. Since we want to stay debt-free we have made slow growth on our infrastructure. I have always lived the "country" life. When I was a child, there was no running water and frequently no electricity, so the issues we've had to face have been only a tiny bit frustrating. Stay the course--it seems like you are a perfect fit for country living:)
Right? In a month I will taste the first fruit of a 2 year old plout tree I grew from seed. It may be stolen by a squirl or knocked off by the wind... So when I will try it I will be doubly grateful.
One of the things that we are trying to figure out is how people afford the equipment . There are endless tools, machines and what not needed to cultivate and maintain property let alone building a home-which we did not do. How do others do it? We are just trying to figure out how to buy a ride on lawn mower for 5 acres.
Great question. I have not been able to afford a riding lawnmower myself. I use a push mower I bought on Craigslist or Facebook marketplace. I don’t buy things till I have the cash. We avoid the debt.
