My favorite place to travel to. Couple more weeks...Love the city! Been going since I was 4 I am over 40 now...Ty for doing another St Augy video Awesome as always!! ;)
Been going there since the late 70's (58 now) and still have family in the area. They have allowed the area to be way over-built; the Embassy Suites on the beach is a perfect example, you actually used to be able to see the ocean. The drive on beach is like 1-4 at rush hour. St. John's County is one of the fastest growing in the state and it shows....
Love your videos... My family is looking forward to using them as a guide for day trips once the world is fully open again. I have a note on this one though -- At 4:29 you mention seeing "turtles"... What's on the screen is actually an endangered gopher tortoise. People sometimes mistake them for turtles and put them in water (thinking they're helping). Unfortunately, they can't swim. Just want the correct info here to help keep them safe. Thanks again for all the great videos and fun info!
M y dad was a professor at UF and had summers off. So we spent the whole summers in Crescent Beach. I grew up in Gainesville but when people ask where I'm from, I say "Gainesville-St. Augustine." My dad bought a condo 1st at Coquina in Crescent Bch, then sold it when the Sandpiper was built next to it. Then he purchased a condo at the Tradewinds, which ended up being our main summer home. After he passed, my mom kept both condos until recently when she sold the Sandpiper condo. My 3 siblings and I are inheriting The Tradewinds after my mom passes. I don't know if we will keep or other sale it. I live in New York and my brother lives in San Francisco. Our 2 sisters are both still in Gainesville. I hope we keep it. every time I come home to visit-I try to go to 1 home Gator game a year-I spend a few days in Crescent Beach. I feel at peace there. So many family memories, of my childhood, my dad...It replenishes and recharges me. It is such a beautiful beach, so different from most of Florida.
