Love the channel, I tried to get crushed coral from my LFS and they can't find it anymore because apparently hardly any of it's harvested environmentally sustainably. Just a heads up might be the next thing we try phase-out of the hobby for the health of the great barrier reef which I know you'd support. I found it thought-provoking when I found out how they harvest the coral.
Beautiful guppies!! Since you were covering a lot of beginner tips (they were great 👍) you might add, at some point in a future video that salt and real plants do not mix well. 😉 Thanks for all your hard work!
Thanks Nick! It was a very good video... I feel like I knew all of this before hand, but a beginner wouldn't necessarily, and it's still nice to have it all summed up neatly, in one video. Great job! 😃 Stay awesome!
You can also use garlic for worms. Cut it as fine as you can and bring it almost to a boil in a pan with water. Give those soft tiny pieces to your fish. Worms hate garlic and will leave their bodies by themselves.
Went from two shop bought guppy's that had some fry before they died to over 200 now me and my wife love looking after the fry. You call them mutt guppy's but we love them cos there ours 👍
I added 4 Guppies and Two Platy Fish In My Outdoor 5 gallon Pond yesterday.. My pond is also having a Waterfall, River Stones and Some Pothos.. What kind of 'medication' and 'Aquatic plants' Should I Give to My Guppies so that they stay healthy..
Not really. It might survive I dont know. What you can do is get a 3 gallon. If cost is a factor just use a cheap plastic tub. Guppies are very lovely fish. They will be swim on the top throughout the tank all day long. You will enjoy it.
Hello!!❤️ I have a question, I bought a single black molly from a fish store and didn’t know she was pregnant so she had like 20 babies. I didn’t know what to do so I bought another tank for them. But I know they’ll start reproducing eventually and I have no more space. What should I do?
He he. But it means your tanknis properly taken care. My fish died I am so sad. You are lucky, luck gave those babies to you since you got only 1. Jackpot 😃😃
I have a guppy tank and took out one of the males bc he was picking on all the fish, I separated him and am gonna wait for the others fins to heal, what should I do if I put him back and his behaviour doesn’t change
When I was a child, my mother bought us one guppy. It was a very fat guppy. In fact it was the fattest guppy inn the store. We did nothing for the guppy other than feeding it. Two weeks later we had a lot of guppies. By the end of the school year, we had too many guppies and we had to buy another tank to put half of them in. We have hard water where we lived, so maybe that was part of it. They weren't any kind of fancy guppies, but they sure were fertile. Our tank wasn't planted and it didn't have any hidie-holes. The bad part of it was that no one wanted our excess guppies. We couldn't even give them away to pet stores. We finally gave up on rehoming them that way, and took them to an animal shelter, where they laughed at us and told us to flush them down the toilet.
And surely as pet lovers we cant flush them 😀😀 Better to keep them in a plastic tub and let them live on their own. Guppies are many times self sustaining
@@happilysmpl We couldn't leave them outside because it freezes hard here in the winter. It's not at all unusual to get temps of -20 F and that's not counting the wind chill. This was well before the advent of plastic totes (think early 1960's). My mom eventually sprang for another tank, but only on the condition that we separate only the males from the females so that there would be no more babies.
Why you should let young males and females grow up separately. You can separate young guppies 2 weeks after birth: the females already have a dark spot on their belly that pregnant females also have. If you do not separate the sexes, males can fertilize females at a very young age. And once they mature, the females will immediately become pregnant. And then you get a huge bulge. Then suddenly you are a millionaire... Millions of guppies... Females that grow up virginally for five months grow larger and have more young per female, if you let them be mated by the male you want young from Door jou verzonden
f you want a strong stock of guppies, have a permanent breeding group and put all the offspring in a different tank. If you let the sexes grow up separately (separate by sex within 3 weeks after birth!) you will have virgin females. This is useful if you want more offspring from a particular male (new or from your breeding group). Because you put them with two or three virgins... And only when the females are pregnant do you put them in the breeding group with the male.
Hey guys, I have a weird case, wonder if anyone can help. I got guppies 3 days ago ,4 girls ,3 boys. But 1 male after a few hours started to swim against the stream near the snap back filter. I have the 6 gallon fluval edge . I had the water there over a month before getting them, added aqua safe and live bacteria. Water tested, the shopkeeper said it is text book perfect. So I’m confused. I didn’t overfeed. Only fed once. And that 1 male literally swam up yeh stream 24/7, not exaggerating, I watched it all day and he spent past 2 days swimming fas up the stream. He was very lively, looked really healthy,no deformations or spots, looked very health. Shopkeeper said he was only 3 weeks old. Anyone every experience this?Should I be worried for the other fish?
Some little fishies love to swim against the pump. In my case a tiny platy was constantly fighting against the flow of the water pump. Its ok 😃 They would not do that if it was hurting them

Actually you should separate the babies from the mothers and father and once they reached the age that you can see the gender separate them they grow faster
