And for me it was your comment, Eric. Thank you so much! I had simply assumed that it's not a function since I thought why would it not be the primary function if it were an option. But to my surprise it is there in settings. It would have been such bad user experience without it -- it should be active by difault.
I find quite suspicious that most RU-vidrs sponsored by paperlike actually don't have a paperlike installed on their iPad. In this one, you even say that you installed as soon as you got your new iPad and there's actually no paperlike screen protector installed during most of the video. I call BS.
Made by Campfire, I tried to like and enjoy the PaperLike screen cover while lettering in Procreate. I took it off and replaced with a glass like cover. Ahh, much better. PaperLike was just too rough.
Before buying the Magic Keyboard case for the iPad Pro, I was going back and forth on if i was going to buy it or not. What tipped me over the edge I will have to say are videos like this. Ever since owning an iPad I have always tried turning the iPad into a traditional laptop, or at least get a traditional laptop experience out of the iPad Pro. With this keyboard, it offers the most laptop like experience over any keyboard I have tried. These keyboards would include the logitech folio rugged keyboard case, the original Apple Folio keyboard case and lastly even though its not a case the Logitech Go Keyboard. Out of all of them, the Logitech folio case came close but in the end it was just too bulky. So, again, after several keyboard cases later and back and forth thinking, I ended up picking the Apple Magic Keyboard case. Since owning the accessory, the Magic Keyboard case offer the best typing experience for the iPad. The case also offers the most laptop like experience because of the multi touch trackpad. The trackpad, although small, changes the entire game on how you interact with the iPad Pro. Using it, the TrackPad is very precise and fast. The case is sturdy, and I do not notice any type of a extra drain on the iPad Pro battery. As iPadOS matures, it will make that much more easier for the iPad to become my primary laptop.
Tek Minion Hey! I just got one! I actually got an open box from Best Buy! Really proud of the $50 I saved haha! I love this devise! I agree with all your comments. This is great!
I traded in my MacBook Air & switched to an iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard. I Absolutely love this combo but I was saddened when I had to click the trackpad in order to click an item. I had no idea there was a “Tap to click” Option for the trackpad 😱😱😱 Thank you so much for bringing this to light ❤️
Yessssss, I had no idea there was this feature either but I KNEW there had to be a way to tap to click! So glad you found this! Make a WORLD of a difference
You saved my life with gestures. I felt so limited having to use the command + H keys to go home. Now I just *three finger* slide this thing and I’m set. Haha thank you!
Brilliant, just got the keyboard and not being able to just tap the trackpad was frustrating me! Didn’t realise it was a setting that can be toggled, thanks for that.
Thanks for the good clip, bro. 👌Known and used all of it, except one and very handy point - The Escape key.👍 As said, "never stop learning" is true. Go on and keep doing such a good work! 🤟
Excape is just cmd and period. You say that, however, you are pointing at the control and option keys and I think many do not know it is as easy as cmb and period. Why loose the functionality of remapping the others, because you will occasionally need those as well. But thank you for a wonderful and informative video. Great job. 👍
Coming from a Logitech Slim folio pro. I recently picked up my magic keyboard a couple of days ago. It’s really nice so far and a huge improvement over apples 2018 keyboard folio. I traded the keyboard folio in for the Logitech back then as the magnets weren’t strong enough back then. So far the Magic keyboard seems to have addressed that issue by adding more stronger magnets. I also love the flexibility of the hinge for viewing angles. However I do miss the volume function keys so far, So I am going to attempt to remap the + and - keys to mirror that command. Great Review and tip video.
I never knew about the hidden USB-C port on the Magic Keyboard!!!! Thank you for pointing it out!!! I wish there were a way to just disable the trackpad but I guess there just isn't, so maybe I'll learn how to use and appreciate it! It would be nice if the emoji keyboard would stay put and let you select more than just one at a time. It used to be that way! I do wish the screen could bend back a little more because when I type the numbers or the delete key I always hit my fingers against the bottom of the screen! I do have a question that I would love to know the answer to since I can't find it anywhere. You know how if you hold down the Cmd key a little too long it pops up a UI menu showing what all you can do? I sure wish there was a way to disable that! Is there any way all? If I don't use gestures to get a screen shot, while I search for the magic keyboard combo of cmd-shift-F4, that stupid menu comes up and often ends up in my screenshot. I wish so much that the UI pop up menu could be completely disabled!! I also agree that there needs to be a solution for portrait mode. It would be nice if the USB-C port at the right could be at the left since I always tip the screen to the right if something will not display in landscape mode! Or better yet if there were a port on each side! And the last thing is that I really wish Apple would make it possible to close all open apps at once instead of having to swipe each one, or maybe two at a time..Thank you very much for this video. I had no idea there was that hidden port!! I wonder what else I'm missing out on?
When it comes to speed, there are 3 things u don’t wanna fuck with: Me when I hear an ice cream van Fucking computers And me when I see an AppleInsider vid
Thanks for the video, very helpful as was your other video on the Magic Keyboard. I’ve been in a wait see mode on this and your video is pushing me to probably pull the lever and pay the $300 for the 11” model Magic Keyboard. I wanted to see what a variety of people’s feedback has been on this device since it’s not cheap but for me I think I’m getting more convinced its worth spending the money. Question where did you get the very cool wallpaper/background desktop picture that’s on your iPad?
Oh my goodness thank you so much!!!!!!! I’ve been trying to figure out how to pull up the emojis when I’m using my magic keyboard I didn’t use it much because of that!!!!! ☺️
In some applications we use the function keys to perform certain different tasks rather than just adjusting brightness and volume. How would it be possible in this? Please guide me through.
I’m curious what do you do with your iPad when u need to read an article on it. Do you just use it still in the landscape mode or you have to remove it and leave it on the table? So what would u do with the Magic Keyboard then😅
Hey, i just got this, thanks for the keyboard and track pad info. I almost returned this because of the tap to click issue. And I can’t get the arrows to work, or the space bar for like pausing and such. Thanks
I am trying to figure out the control period as an esc key. This is my 1st magic keyboard and I see you hitting control and option key. Thank you for any help.
Although I have the 2018 iPad Pro (bought in 2019 though), I literally just bought the black Magic Keyboard for half price from UK John Lewis online! 🤩 Half price! Brilliant video for me Andrew thanks 👍🏻
great vid. was wondering if there's a way to get the magic keyboard to act as a piano keyboard when im in music apps? it used to work on my old apple laptop. anyone know how to do that?!
I just don’t like that it cannot be used as a normal type of keyboard such as arrows for skipping forward and space bar to pause. If this is a setting please advise but I other than that its great
Hello, I just got my Ipad Pro and Magic Keyboard and I am not sure how to put the short cuts that are present in the MacBook on to the trackpad, so I can use it like one. You showed it in your video and I was wondering how do I put them in?
Thanks for the review. Question: with the iPad taken out of the Magic Keyboard case, and with the cover closed, if you put the iPad Pro on top of the closed case, will the magnets somewhat latch on to pull in the iPad Pro? I ask because if it does, that’s a probably good way to put the device into note taking or drawing mode. Curious to know and thanks for replying.
what do you think of the viewing angles? is the max angle the same as the max angle on the Smart Keyboard (if you have that)? very tempted by the awesome design but I find the Smart Keyboard angles to steep sometimes
Oliver FP if you’re sitting at a normal desk, the viewing angle is no problem. I find myself not even using the fully pushed back angle when I’m at my desk. Unfortunately, i never owned the first folio keyboard, so i cant reference it, but from what I’ve seen, it seems to be mostly the same
We love our paperlike screen protector as it hides fingerprints. Back to the video, where our iPad has tons of fingerprints! Irony. Awesome tips none the less though! Can’t wait to get my keyboard in and use them!
Just use the web browser to watch RU-vid because then you can have ad-blockers enabled and watch everything ad-free as well as use the space bar to pause/play, hit M for mute, among others. Make sure to uninstall the RU-vid app from your iPad so the “watch in RU-vid app” bar isn’t always at the top of the browser window. This is how I watch everything on my iPad Pro and it is far better than using the app.
Hans download Ad-Blockers from the App Store. Such as kablock, 1blocker, AdGuard, Ad-Blocker, and Ad-Blocker Pro. Then go to your iPad safari settings and enable the blockers.
this may be a stupid question.. but it makes sense to me.. what if i wanted to switch the trackpad off and use a bluetooth mouse? is that an option? i just don't want to accidently press anything if i'm typing a lot rather than using the trackpad
I just wish there was a keyboard shortcut for controlling keyboard brightness, screen brightness, and volume! The whole point of having a keyboard and trackpad is to not have to lift my finger up to the screen to do everything
