We did a no-gift Christmas and did a trip instead between the holidays. It was really nice!

I completely agree with your approach to art on walls. At one point I have removed everything from my walls and my eyes and my brain felt instant relief. I don't have anything on my walls in bedroom since then. Only in the living room

I love having mostly clear walls at home! I agree that it is such a brain relief!

To my husband , minimalism comes naturally. He just doesn’t buy things that he doesn’t need. But to me😨…not that much. I love shopping, and seeing something on sale and not buying it seems like a tremendous loss. I want to stop, I want to de clutter (especially my wardrobe 😟) and I need to start NOW!!🙏🏻 Thanks for the tips and advice! God bless!🤗

Test No. 1 "Box up the maybe items..." is brilliant. I have a lot of stuff I have kept for years as a maybe, but I can't get myself to let it go. This might do the trick! As for the last one, I wish I had said "No!" to hand-me-downs years ago. My dad wasn't much of a stuff guy and when they'd visit, he'd dump a box of their old stuff on us seemingly as a joke to see if I'd take it. I wish I had said "No thank you" or just donated it right away. Now I have boxes of stuff to deal with that I've never used.

Yes! Box that stuff up for a season and you will likely see that you don’t miss it at all! :)

Thank you. Im practicing no impulse buying and saying no. I’ll start boxing some thing. I have a hard time letting go of good-enough-things! This might help me 🙏🏼❤️

I like the tip especially about taking First -baby steps ....and can attest to that going slowly Does works , and doesn’t seem overwhelming . That’s what we did & now our pace is a fast walk , eventually a minimalism ,’run’. I like the box up ‘extras’ , date and not access for a set amount of time then donate without looking in the box again & be tempted to remove something . Thank you for the advice & encouragement.

Am exploring your videos. Where can I find the video about meal planning and just buying those ingredients? This could be a place to start for me 🙂

Hi there! The video is titled ‘simple meal planning tips’ - If you type it in the search bar on my channel page it should come up right away! ❤️

@@ArrowHillCottage Found it, thank you. As a couple with none of the family responsibilities you juggle, we are trying to shop less frequently and plan meals and ingredient lists. The PDFs you shared will be very useful.

Rikka, if you’re content with your life as it is now then I would suggest looking into regenerative practices so you are prepared for when you need to buy new items. Regenerative agriculture has a huge opportunity for growth, and I’m sure that extends to the textile, clothing, and household goods industries as well.

Hey friend, really enjoyed this video! Such great ideas! I have been pursuing minimalism for 7 or 8 years now and my biggest struggle is clothes - both the in flow and out flow. I did try a capsule wardrobe for one month and I really didn’t like it. But I know there is an in between. I have started adding items to the donate pile if I don’t absolutely love it, and I think that is helping me to make progress. Thanks for sharing!😊🤍
