Sunset Overdrive's Bad Medicine mission! You get high so leeches can suck your blood to heal a dude. However, after losing some blood, you have to chase Fizzy, while the floor is literally lava.
Definitely won't forget Fallout New Vegas' Honest Hearts dlc where you'd get a special quest if you had the Wild Wasteland perk. A man in a cave would send you to take some local herbs and then fight a bear which was on fire... Edit: You don't need the perk to do the quest but having it triggers unique dialogue from the quest giver
One of the new vegas dlc has you eat trippy flowers then has you fight a ghost bear for a sub par weapon the guru guy preemptively guilt trips you for selling.
No mention of Skyrim, where you meet Sanquine, black out, trash a temple, steal a goat and sell it to a giant, and marry a hagraven? And then you get a cool demonic staff.
Still haven't experienced that. If I don't experience everything in The Witcher & The Witcher 2 Assassins of Kings, it's because it's one choice cancels out another. With The Witcher 3 The Wild Hunt, there are quests I still haven't found

Killing nearly a hundred gang members in Saints Row 2 Shooting your way through a sex club in Saints Row 3 Escaping an alien simulation in Saints Row 4, which doesn't explicitly state you're high, but you're vomiting and struggling to walk so you're definitely on something. And strangest of all, none of these are even hallucinations. You're just high while they happen.

In Oblivion, you take a drug (sap of an ancient argonian tree) during the end of the Fighters guild quest that makes you see your enemies in the quest as goblins but in truth you were slaying a hole village and their farming animals.

I'm okay with not having a tiger. Remember when Roy Horn of Siegfried & Roy got mauled by a tiger? Yeah, that tiger wasn't trying to hurt him. It was trying to protect him. Some lady in the audience spooked it, so it grabbed its BFF and took him backstage away from the perceived danger. Tigers are just so powerful that they can accidentally break us fragile humans without having a shred of malice or ill-intent.
Someone forgot about Fallout New Vegas in the Honest Hearts DLC when you take a certain quest from White Bird with the Wild Wasteland perk. "TAKE DRUGS! KILL A BEAR!"

There was also that time in Farcry 3 where you were hallucinating a battle with a giant fiery smoke monster. Boy was I surprised by what Jason was *actually* doing when he woke up halfway through.

@@BruderEngel Same...I would kill all the others, but spare Faith. IIRC, she was forced into it, unlike the others, who took joy in their role in the cult. Which is how great FC5 is; I am scorched earth with cults, but Faith? She is one of the few I would spare.
None of the events of that quest have you actually playing while drunk, and it's a sidequest anyway so you're not being forced to do it, so I don't think it qualifies.

The chest of a thousand grogs from Sea of Thieves comes to mind, returning your hard-earned loot to the safety of your ship, and staying steady enough to even sell, is made somewhat more difficult while under the effect of... well, a thousand grogs
Yes and in the Honest Hearts DLC of Fallout New Vegas, you can take a drink for a Sorrows Tribe's Shaman. Your character, the Courier starts hallucinating and ends up fighting a mutant bear whom the Courier is hallucinating as being on fire.
Maybe not that weird, but there was that dungeon crawl in the Shivering Isles expansion for Oblivion that punishes you heavily if you do it sober. You have to continuously eat the insects that live there to avoid withdrawal symptoms.

I think the end level of hotline Miami 2 deserves a mention with it being my favourite drug trip in video games. After popping a bunch of pills you end up: destroying your own criminal organisation, getting sucked into your own text box and fighting hyper versions of animal masked vigilantes like a two headed swan in various scenarios
I've always wondered how they made the Touch Fuzzy / Get Dizzy level from Yoshi's Island work on the SNES. It just seems like this low-key impressive technical feat but I have no idea if it was actually hard to do.
You don’t experience it first-hand, but the recap of your escapades in Skyrim’s A Night To Remember quest is insane! You’re suddenly on the other side of the map, sold a goat to a giant, and even married a witch thing! Definitely a trip down lack-of-memory lane
Oh, not a witch (that'd be okay, since they're human), but a hagraven (half bird, half woman...all psycho). You also forgot a few steps (including a bet made to another drunkard that dealt with stealing someone's hat), but trying to untangle it all seems like a fantasy version of the Hangover movies.
The entirety of Assassin's Creed Valhalla's Asgard section is an extended drug trip, a chemical version of the Animus where Eivor relives her past life as a certain person with a penchant for trickery and a missing body part
Winning Sam's little 'drinking contest' in Skyrim isn't weird by the standards of these examples, but the first time it happened to my character I checked my map and "why am I in Markarth!?" (I was previously in Ivarstead) was the only thing I could think of. Apparently your character: - Fondled the statuary in Markarth's temple - Sold a farmer's goat to a giant - Got engaged with a Hagraven - Challenged a drunken Argonian to steal the hat off a bandit leader
Made that point myself. Then there's peryite's questline that has you inhale some incense and trip balls on deathbell, vampire dust and crushed up rubies, all so you can talk to peryite, who puts a hit out on an elf. But, sanguine's line is far crazier.
It was definitely drunken jackassery, but the list is about the weirdest things done while high. That was totally normal drunken jackassery, not weird at all.
I would suggest the one from Batman : Arkham City (or origins, not sure) where Bruce gets drugged by Mad Hatter, and has to fight, do platforming while wearing a ridiculous mask and hearing creepy Alice in Wonderland fanfic of Hatter
Moonside in Earthbound. You wander into a deeply strange warped version of Fourside City where no means yes and art wants to kill you. Only to find out later that the whole experience was actually you wandering around in a storage closet while being hypnotized by an evil statue.
I can't remember if it was Earthbound or Mother 3, but when you go to the village full of Mr. Saturns, the coffee (I think.) gives the kids you play as an acid trip.
@@rjfrost7090 You get some weird coffee breaks in Earthbound. In Mother 3, there’s Tanetane Island. The party has to eat some wild mushrooms to heal up, and it results in a nightmare acid trip while they explore the island. All the enemies are horrible shapes, you run into mailboxes that tell you everyone hates you, and the team happily takes a bath in a landfill, thinking it’s a hot spring. It’s a bad time.
In Oblivion, you get high AF on hist sap and kill goblins. Also, the entire Shivering Isles questline is probably the result of eating the wrong kind of fungus and completely tripping balls.
One benefit for Ellen working on these videos from home and not in a studio with the rest of the team. She can bring the Pun power without the rest of her colleagues booing her :P

It's not so much a weird thing that you do but in Outer Worlds, on Max's mission, you come across this lady and essentially get high to find out 'the answer'. It's such an odd, confusing conversation but I continue to love it.
How about Assassins Creed: Valhalla? The hallucinogenic mushrooms in Viking occupied England were apparently so strong, they created full puzzle segments!
I noticed Peter Parker looks different in the newest Spider-Man game, even in the recap of the previous game. Heard they were changing the face for a remaster, but was surprised at how the face was also different for PS4. It's like Sony expects you to just play it all on PS5, but that system is harder to get than the covid vaccine. Although I think I prefer the original face, would also like a consistant face. Perhaps they should have a title update for the PS4 version, or give it an optional face selection

Resident Evil Village has the House Beneviento section. If you pay attention, you’ll realize the entire thing from the moment you step onto the forest path until you deal with Donna was a drug trip.
That part in fallout 3's point lookout dlc where the lone wanderer eats a plunge fruit, gets super high, and has a breakdown. Also new vegas during the honest hearts dlc when the courier gets high and kills a radioactive ghost bear.
It does not explicitly include drugs but I would also mention what happens when you chill out with the ghost in Undertale. Probably a contact high from the carpet.

My first thought when reading the title was Saints Row 3 where you wake up naked in a BDSM club, drugged and nauseous, and then have to kill a bunch of gangsters.
Struggling has a really bizarre sequence where the twins inhale mushroom spores and float through a field of singing rainbow mushrooms featuring unicorns, get to be basketball all-stars, speak in real words for the first time, give a speech to wild applause, and other madness. The whole game is weird tale about mad science project rejects, but the high-on-shrooms levels are special.
Seeing Yoshi again brought back some very fond memories. Has OX ever made a video about the characters that made them fall in love with playing video games? It would be neat to hear the origin stories of what characters inspired and sparked their passion for games.
I love Assassin's Creed Origins attention to Epyptian mythology in that fight. Apophis (sometimes referred to as Apep) is a giant snake representative of chaos that wants to destroy Ra. The Egyptians believed that the sun god Ra would die each night and travel through the underworld. He sailed through the Twelve Kingdoms of Night on his barque, and at the end of the journey he would emerge reborn in the realm of the living. Ra is represented as a falcon headed man, which would explain Senu turning into a bow made of light (this might also be a nod to the Greek myth of Apollo fighting off Python). The bit with Bayek's heart, the giant scales, and the sarcophagus is also related to different myths. In the mythology, Anubis would weigh the hearts of the dead. If the heart weighed more than a feather, then it would be consumed, and the owner would be sentenced to Egyptian Hell. If the heart weighed less than or equal to the feather, the owner would have a peaceful afterlife. The sarcophagus in the river represents Osiris, God of the dead. He was set to take over being head god, but was tricked into a sarcophagus, torn into fourteen pieces, and the sarcophagus was sent down a river.
Spoilers for Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box: . . . . Wouldn't the whole game count? I mean, the mystery of the Diabolical Box is that there are fumes in it that cause hallucinations, so a large portion of the game could be considered done while high.
There are quite a few OX missed that I'm aware of. In the Point Lookout DLC for Fallout 3 during the main quest the Lone Wanderer is drugged and hallucinates his/her abandonment issues. In the Honest Hearts DLC the Shaman of the Sorrows tribe offers a quest where the Courier drinks a concoction whose trip had him/her fight a flaming mutant bear. In Oblivion the hero apparently gets drugged during a fighter's guild quest and does some questionable things under the influence. Also during the non-mania choice quest line the hero gets high and addicted for a time. It's been a very long time since I did them. In Skyrim the whole Sanguine quest is about figuring out what the Dragonborn did whilst drugged and making up for it all. I mean planning to marry a Hagraven... no amount of booze will do that. Sanguine had to have drugged him/her. I suppose you could call the "Dreamstrider" thing done during Vaermina's quest in Skyrim as under the influence too. In Outer Worlds the companion Max has to fight an illusionary version of himself under the influence to resolve issues he was having. And having a drinking session with Dr Chakwas in either Mass Effect 2 or 3 is worth noting. Again it's been a long time and I just don't remember which game it was in.
Assassins creed Valhalla. There’s an entire quest type that consists of eating random mushrooms you found in the woods, tripping your head off, and either completing a weird door puzzle or fighting a thing from Norse mythology. My favourite is the glowing hedgehog-boar made of red-hot metal.
Witcher 3: Taking shrooms and being able to talk to Roach and going on a buddy cop adventure together. And also slaughtering a bunch of taxidermy animals
Based on some people's preferred playstyle, the whole of Postal 2 is one week-long "weird thing" done while high -- including, mind you, an apocalypse.
