I think the 9-pointer is better than two card-killing wonders. These two are the worst. You rarely need that extra shield, and the elimination of brown or grey card is rarely vital. I'm not surprised the losing player in this game chose two worst wonders.
It depends on the progress tokens and the already chosen wonders. But for me it's overall clearly the Great Lighthouse. At least vs much weaker opposition. The The Great Library, The mausoleum and The Colossus are I think mostly better but it is situational. Like all of these 3 can be game breaking strong wonders but sometimes utterly weak wonders depending on progress tokens and other chosen wonders. In some games The Great Lighthouse can be very strong though. Especially if the opponent holds The Great Statue of Zeus, which I think is a very strong non extra turn wonder nearly every single game. The Great Statue of Zeus greatly helps in both civil and military paths. The Great Lighthouse is a strong all in kind of wonder for a civil approach. But it lacks all the attacks and defenses vs green and red which is a huge downside.
After that weird double wonder play in the second age I was like “this guy is going to lose. “Idc if he has the military progress token or all that science and resources. It’s like I could see how he had the upper hand but after that misplay i honestly can see why he lost. The underdog honestly just had to build his wonders at the right time and keep up the attack and boom he got a win especially with that double wonder play at the end. (Not one of the players just thought it was cool I could see how this was going to play out before it ended) would love to play with some of these people sometime.
As much you say green is a good strategy, I've seen the best players all have a higher than average win rate with Military Victory than science but conversly, science is the favored of the 2 win conditions among average players
@@WonderfulPlays Military breaking coins at key moments is an alright great pivot out of military. I won't win in military but atleast you have 7 less coins and now something really important is coming that I can afford but you can't. Really wishing for more 7WD content from this Channel!
