Yeah everyone says that there, either she didn't drink in the Philippines or she's looking for a literal exact translation, which is not always possible as seen in other languages here. google translate "cheers" & you will probably get "tagay"

If were being technical, “tagay” doesn’t mean “cheers. It’s often used in shot-glasses like “Shot” or “chug”. Also, In every “tagayan”, a glass is shared by members of the group, which would then be passed to every member of the group to drink. So the lady is indeed correct.

In Russia, we don't have a generic "Cheers". It's always specific. Like "to your health!", "to our parents!" etc. etc. Hence she said we have a few.

Fact: we don't have a direct translation of Cheers but rather a close one which is "Tagay". There's google gurl check it, its free, and tagay is not informal I mean gurllllll.
