Land of the lost ,7 foot monsters in underground tunnels, dinosaurs, I was only 6 - 9 years old, now I'm 52 , it's good to see these commercials, brings back good memories, thank you for this.
Dang, I was 4 when these commercials aired. That Weeble Wobble racing toy looks so familiar but I can’t remember if I had one. That Krofft Lost Saucer show looks hilariously insane. lol Also, lolololol @ “King Ding Dong”.
Hell yeah 70s commercials! One day I’ll get lucky and I’ll find a Betamax or VHS tape older than 1980 out in the wild. (Or a V-Cord or VX tape if I really get lucky) Too bad pre-1987 content is harder to come by in my area.
I wasn't around 1979, but I remembered the Stop N Go convenience stores, Northtown Mall, which both are now gone. And of course, this channel as a "SuperStation", which is now a sophisticated CBS O&O affiliate.
@Lance Lanny Agreed! That's my one complaint about the retro channels. I wish they could include some of these classic commercials in their broadcasts; maybe 1 or 2 ads each half-hour that aired during the original broadcast of that particular episode. I think there was a cable channel that did something like that a while back.
Thanks a million for all of these. I have been trying to find the OPENING to Cartoon Carnival for ages but still no luck. Does anybody at least know what that theme music was from. I can still hear it in my head 50 years later.
@@TerrickTerran Oh, lots of anime got terribly censored in our youths. Have you ever compared the original versions of Dragon Ball or Sailor Moon to their original English dubs back in the 90s?
@@yusakug That Sailor Moon dub still makes me shudder to this day. Sadly I've never had a chance to see the original Dragon Ball but would love to see it.
It was both, 70s costumes and sfx were hella cheesy, and were genuinely creepy. The stuff they used on the early 90s remake were technically better but it actually induced more disbelief.
Battle Of The Planets-U.S remake coming soon from the Russo brothers Kellogg's Raisin Bran-"Aaahhh."(nice freeze frame imitation at the end) Hostess Fruit Pies & Twinkies-they just dont taste the same nowadays :( StarCrash-first known appearance of The Hoff..plus one of the most epic lines ever:"Imperial Battleship..HALT THE FLOW OF TIME!!!"
I would have to agree on the creepiness of Kathy Burke's puppet show but the ad BEFORE that with the *disco kids* getting frozen drinks kind of blows that one away! I think they should be re-doing that Pneumococcal Pneumonia vaccine commercial for *another* sort of thing going on right now, sounds awfully familiar.
0:00--Esmeralda may not be the most popular character on "Bewitched,", but I love her because of her odd little quirks--like causing strange things to happen when she sneezes. 1:32--Wow, the CLASSIC Golden Grahams jingle! They used several versions of it, with subtle lyric changes, from the mid-1970's to the early 1980's. If you're close to my age (born 1971), there's a very good chance you still get this tune in your head when you think of Golden Grahams. Interestingly, it is based on the 19th-century minstrel song "Oh Dem Golden Slippers." 4:36--That "Two scoops" jingle for Raisin Bran is also a classic. 7:09--I don't think I ever owned the "Weeble Wobble Race," but I thought it looked pretty cool (and I still think so). 9:10--Twinkie the Kid--an iconic advertising mascot of the day! 11:43--Great news for Looney Tunes fans! They are now on Me TV for an hour on Saturday mornings, and as part of the "Toon In With Me" weekday morning show that debuted the first of this year.
Kind of sad to hear that he passed away not too long ago. He couldn't have been very old. And BTW, "Alice" (in which he played the title character's son Tommy) is one of my favorites.
