Today we're starting to delve into the the mechanical issues of the 1970 Triumph Spirfire with the GT6 engine conversion we have in the shop. The GT6 was available with three difference versions of the Zenith Stromberg CD150 carb. When taking a closer look at these we find some minor fuel leaks in addition to the suspected oil leak at the needles, as well as discover that we have a mix of two of the three versions. We walk through the differences between the three types used and the tuning challenges they present. Then we take you through the process of replacing the O-ring and discuss the importance of having oil in the dash pots of both Stromberg's and SU's and how it affects the carburetor's performance. Look for more videos coming up as we continue to work through the list as we sort out the kinks in this prior restoration.
