Business wise, their assuming that once Brexit is done and a new deal with the US is done, a new type of products will have more ease of access into our market, such as this type of cars. Therefore, best things best for them is, stay ahead of the game.. marketise, marketise and more marketising...
707 horsepower, 196 top speed for $80,000. You can't get that from any other factory stock car in the world. Sure Mercedes and BMW might be faster but they're also $120,000+
@Im Rosin Not even close, the only reason why ANY European car is a show stealer is cause when people look at them the only thing that comes to their mind is the price, so practically theyre just status symbols. European car brands have demonstrated multiple times that they have no idea (or simply dont give a shit) to make a proper car for the average person. Europe makes nothing that competes with the Charger. 4 door V8 sedan starting around $40K. Take your pick, for the same price, let that be any price, the US brands simply kick the ass of Eurobrands in all performance, quality, maintenance. The only people that disagree with this are the top gear uk brainwashed fanboys. And you heard this from a European who lives in the EU.
@@DesertStateInEU Much needed wake up call here. The average Joe in Europe does not even for one second consider buying a V8 sedan that consumes two Iraqs per mile. People here buy hatchbacks or compact SUVs for the most part. And with the fuel cost here, your 40-50k muscle car actually needs to compare to a 70k Benz due tot he massive difference in efficiency. (And we do calculate cost of ownership before buying a car)
I pick up my kid from school with a Daytona 345 Destroyer Grey color. Not the Hellcat but close enough - at least for the school part; everyone knows when we are around.
Damn, this is a beautiful car. I don't think I mind the interior too much as others are pointing out. The leather and stitching looks pretty good as well as the instrument cluster. That's all that really matters, and the 700 hp. I think I'm in love.
I actually think the front and rear of the Charger looks amazing, especially on the Hellcat. Also, I would really love to see Mat drag race the Charger Hellcat against the Mercedes E63 S, BMW M5 Comp, and the Audi RS7 Performance or Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio.
Dodge Charger isnt that a Chellenger. Charger was GM. And the Hellcat is actually the Demon with 4 inches added to each side to make it a Hellcat but a Hell Cat is a Dodge Challenger. So this guy is telling u about the right car wrong Name. I no mine cost me 94,000
@@ARDEN440i M5 destroys the Demon in terms of straight line performance look up M5 Competition vs Dodge Demon by Throttle House. Hellcat is MUCH slower than the E63S or M5 on a straight.
There's something endearing about American cars like this. Cheap interiors, handling that's okay at best but with massive horsepower. It's so irrational to like something like this and yet I absolutely love it!
I love it too, in a world where everyone is so serious about emissions, driving tech, EVs and luxury, its nice to have a car brand exist just to make me laugh
Plus one more thing. Wait four years and you will be able to buy this same car for $30,000. There is no better automotive value on the planet than a used North American vehicle. Period.
@@CHETINIS-fs6rk Too True Chetin PETROL is £1:26 Per Litre and DIESEL is about £1:30 Per Litre but can vary 😭 Scotland has all the oil fields but gets 20% of the revenue lol
My mates: Lets go window shopping for tvs and tech as the winter sales! Me: Nah lets rewatch Mat talk about my dream cars and laugh while I wipe away the tears of poverty from my face
Good review Mat, but I wouldn't say forced induction with a turbo is free energy, as each cilinder needs to work a bit extra during the exhaust stroke to overcome increased pressure drop over the turbine, but compared to a supercharger definitely
Hey Matt & CarWow team! Great idea on reviewing US cars! Looking forward to see the Lincoln reviews (Nautilus and Aviator) and see how they stand up to the German luxury SUVs.
Don't forget you can't buy these in the UK unless you have the money to import these so M3 owners won't have to worry about coming up against these very often
@Daniel Hernandez I grew up with the metric system and its hard for me to learn another. Actually I bought a car in GB so it's got miles and mpg on the tachometer but I still got no clue 😂
I'm from Canada and we (not officially) use both KPH and MPH. Just multiply miles per hour X 1.61 and you get KPH. "Jeez Bye, she ain't rocket surgery"
Had an SRT (not hellcat) version one of these in the States this year and it is a genuine beast. That car has around 300bhp less than this and that still sounded amazing and went like stink, I’d love this car. Great review too Mat
People fail to realize that if u want a 707 horsepower Benz or BMW or anything, will cost you $100,000+. This car is unbelievable for the price tag. They buy it for the power. Not the dashboard plastic
Thank you for reviewing muscle cars as well...looking forward to seeing a dodge demon review....muscle cars are All about the V8 and the horsepower, the rest doenst matter 🤣
Matt! Comparing the charger hellcat with the BMW M3 or Merc. c63 AMG is not fair at all This car is a mid-size saloon and based on the mercedes e-class chasis and wheelbase So to be fair this one should be compared with BMW M5 & Mercedes E63 AMG
This is probably the only car in the world that i would really want to drive before i die and if i never drive this car until i die im not gona die peacefully
how can you not complain about that interior? it looks like it's 10 years old. inside is where you spend most of the time with it. otherwise it looks cool af outside.
I love this car so much, it is new but yet he function of it looks just classic but still modern, also very powerful and awesome looking! great job Dodge, i wish i could buy one...at least in the future
This thing will smoke the M5 competition, E63 S Amg and Maybe the RS6. Almost 800hp beast. Imagine if it had been an AWD. No car on the road will even come close enough to race it.
Christian Haselwanter- Grasl to be fair, Dodge on average more reliable than BMW, cheaper to fix, and has a larger after market supply for mods. But no way in hell it comes close to the cornering ability of BMW, also the interior materials are much nicer and the design layout is better in BMW cars.
@Yusuf Bulbulia no, most proper car enthusiasts are broke and don't have a lot of money. They want a fun car that is reliable. Trust me, if dodge put their mind and money to it, they can make the charger become much less heavy, add all wheel drive, improve handling etc. and still remain reliable because they will not overcomplicate the electronics like how germans do and will keep their already reliable hellcat engine.
Yusuf Bulbulia Not everyone likes miatas. Miata has its own way in being fun, while the charger also has its own way in being fun. The miata is fun to toss around, while the charger is fun to accelerate in. And who said that a car has to be completely unreliable if its expensive? Do you have any idea that in most industries that as price goes up reliability and quality goes up? Why is it that german junk can’t be built properly? Why do I have to be so rich to enjoy a fast car? The hellcat exists for car enthusiasts who don’t have the money to spend on a mercedes. There is a reason that you almost always see tuned japanese and american cars dominating a car meet instead of tuned german cars.
It would get stolen in less than a week. lol but seriously, no rear arm rest in the back seat for an 80k vehicle?! That is just ridiculous. Def not for saving weight because it weighs as much as a yatch.
Luxury🤢. A muscle car isn’t for going around tracks and being comfortable, it’s for being heavy with a huge and loud engine and being able to burn rubber all day. The Hellcat represents modern Muscle Cars!
Damn one my favorite muscle car forever, i would like to say these muscle cars looking good and aggressive. Please i want to see a drag race from this car.
If you rebuilt it with new tech you’d have something like an AMG engine with ten times as many moving parts. The engine would cost 50k by itself and would be far less reliable. There are good reasons why Chevy and dodge stick with pushrods.
