Walked from patterdale through the valley up to Grisedale Tarn last Sat 6th and I was blew off my feet . Managed to get up and carry on just like you, bent over stop ,start with each strong gust . Eventually made the tarn and dropped down to Dunmail Raise . No way I would have ever attempted to camp out in that ! Or go any higher than I did with Helvelyn on one side and Fairfeild St Sunday crag on the other.

My wife and I first started fell walking many years ago. On our 2nd holiday we were going up to Angle Tarn, at Bordale Hors we met some seasoned walkers who said it was blowing a hoolie up top. Not knowing what a hoolie was we continued. We found out what it was when we reached Angle Tarn. After my wife got picked up and deposited a couple of meters ahead, we decided to shelter behind a stonewall. We could feel the wall move when the gusts really got bad and the wind sounded like the jet fighters you see flying up there. Many years on we regularly revisit Angle Tarn and recount the day. We've since respected the forces of nature.

I went out with dogs the other day to walk part of the ridgeway walk here in the Cotswolds and thought I was completely on my own ( you could see for miles all round so I knew I was alone ) and literally out the blue a cyclist came up right behind me and I might of squealed a bit to loudly 🤣🤣🤣 never underestimate your the only person around 👍

Love your videos Glen, so big thanks. My Deepest sympathy of the recent news. Lovely to see you out again pal. Regards to the video, My undercrackers were brown just watching this 😂 Your forearm must be like Popeye’s holding the camera in that 💨! Had a few camps like that myself when you are concerned walking into the planned pitch area whether or not you’re gonna find a sheltered spot. Always safe to sack it off when you aren’t confident of a pitch & come down. Take care & Stay safe ATB Dave (dicky bird outdoors)

Another enjoyable video and you took the sensible and correct choice to seek out the van and a pub 🍺 those winds were brutal. Quick question if I may relating to a previous walk. There was a villarge that didn’t appear to be dog friendly, where was that.

I enjoyed this video, especially the fact that you showed so much of the path ahead and the different terrain as you climbed up, from the saturated ground at the bottom to the boulders, sharp rocks and scree higher up. It was like walking along with you. It made a nice change from all the shots of people walking towards and away from the camera. Even though you, wisely, didn't camp, it was a great adventure.

Good job Glenn, I wouldn’t have thought of climbing Crinkle Crags from that side. Looking at your map it looks like you could build in Bowfell as well and make it a big circular walk. Sensible decision not to camp; there are enough crazy wild camping vids on YT.

You mad lad! But good to see you back too. I was out walking during Storm Kathleen and the winds were crazy on mid-level mountains such as Illgill Head, Whin Rigg and Green Crag. I chose those three because they're grassy and purposely avoided the rocky mountains where the wind would have been even crazier.

Meanwhile, another RU-vidr (mentioning no names) would be out in this saying how good it is and how he’s very comfortable in such conditions, as his tent folds in half around him. Pleased to have a more realistic and sensible perspective from you, Glenn. Too often we see conditions like this portrayed as ‘fun’. Great work. 👍🏼

Glenn, I’ve watched loads of your videos which are brilliant. However, on this occasion, choosing to go on the higher fells knowing the conditions,, was probably the most selfish thing you have done. There’s a programme on TV at the moment about the MRTs; all volunteers who go out to rescue people who ignore advice and end up injured. Whilst you are undoubtedly an expert, why possibly risk others lives for one video.
