Well It´s that time...
We are ready to start testing the new setup.. basicly the new build restomod...
SOOO much has happend to this thing in the last 12 month of the two week paintjob...

Very impressed any thoughts on the steering and how to fix it. Car looks fantastic a real credit to your workmanship

Cheers man! Thank you soo much.. I’we been told a few things on the steering.. but right now the anti Roll bar is riding on the frame rails and does wonders for the feel of the car 🙄😬 So I’m gonna be building alot of suspension parts in a future episode.

Cheers… Always wanted an orange… but loved my red soo much I wound’t want to change it… but then I Got fed up with all the faults and then orange it was….

Looking good my friend. 1st drive is always fun. You get to find out what need more attention. Your steering issue, not returning to center is due to caster. Add more caster in your front end alignment. Did you add a switch to be able to turn off the electric powersteering when driving the celica hard? Hope you work out all the bugs so we can see the celica driven under high spirited runs. Keep up the awesome work.

🙏 Thanks man… also right now its riding the anti Roll bar on the frame rails in the front due to beeing so low… I’m gonna da RCA’s, adjustable caster arms, and adjustable lca’s…. Lots to do!

Congrats the first true drive after the tire change is a mix of happiness and :"did all bolts are torque proprely? Is every thing ok?" but it WORTH the pain. Enjoy!

Is it that clear 🤣🤣 It’s true. I was shitting my pants to tell the truth. But It held up! Did rub a little in the back.. so had to change the tyre size

Looks awesome. I'm guessing that's the 18RG. I drove one back when, it was the lower compression 18RG-U and it was about 120HP. Lower gears would have helped a lot. I've got an RA20 with the TRD flairs, but mine are molded into the body. My engine is the 18RB, dual SU type carbs, but I run the Webber and Offy 360 dual port. Fun cars, but pretty nose heavy. Love the body style.

Thanks! 👍 And yeah, It’s amazing how badly designed the Weigh distribution is on theese old things… but it makes them soo much more fun! And the body style is SO cool! Like miniature muscle cars

@@DavidRoadworthyish The 1st gen Celica was a copy of the 1968 Camaro and the 1977 lift back was based on the Mustang fastback. The great thing about the 1st gen Celica was that you got a great looking car, full featured (reclining bucket seats, full gauges, full console, front disk brakes, power brakes, etc..) and got great MPG, in the 70's that was very important. Also, a high quality car. They used to be everywhere, people loved them, but sadly, most have be crushed.
