Recently found this channel and oh man, excellent stuff. For years I've come into the same old stories of crassus but this gives a LOT of cool details that fill in a lot of blanks and background. Cheers from Canada

I just found your channel recently-it’s awesome! There just isn’t enough historical content like this (particularly around Rome) that I can get my hands on. The late republic/transition to empire and the third century AD are my favorite periods.

Fantastic story I learned a lot! I love how there is no bs it just jumps right into the story. It is very immersive. It helps me be able to picture the scenes in my mind.

Absolutely thrilled at finding your channel. May I suggest/request you make some playlists, please. Youre only at 73 at this point as of today... so while definitely a task not as overwhelming as it could be in no time.

Am I the first? I like the idea of serving meat by publicly slaughtering, butchering and roasting the animals. How many chickens whose livers provided a glimpse into that day's events then became breakfast? "Spartacus" and "The Vikings" are among my favorite growing-up movies.

Where was the money kept? This was before banks. Before banking. All that gold, silver and…. .?

Well they did have banks actually; State bank in the temple of Saturn, and then there were private bankers. Crassus' net worth was mostly in income-producing assets. But what cash he kept on hand (probably a lot), my guess is that he kept it in his own secret secure place(s).
