September 18, 2022 - Ultimate Club Duals Fall Championship at Nittany Valley Sports Centre in State College, PA Alicia Tucker {B} of Illinois Cornstars Black defeated Zella Weiland {R} of WOW South by Fall at 2:19
I'm 51 years old this is awesome my wrestling coach back the day had a stroke had to coach us in a wheel chair his fav words where the head goes the body will follow
Once the girl in the blue figured out the girl in the white had a terrible shot defense the match was over. But she didn't need to push off of her like she did after the pin. That's a punk move and she seems like too good a wrestler for that nonsense. Let your wrestling do the talking for you, even when emotions are high. Win or lose with class. Doesn't mean you have to like it, just do it because it's right. I really enjoyed your match though. Nice counter!
I think there's history too. The girl in white is clearly pissed off. I can't tell if the girl in blue is truly saying "good match" or if she is sort of rubbing it in her face. But at the end, the woman in the black shirt is clearly taunting the girl who lost, which ain't classy and which might suggest where that little push off came from.
@@mikeholtzclaw3995 The "push" is overblown. Girl in white is mad because she doesn't think it's a pin. Blue said it was then congrats. Then white's sister cussed at blue, that's why girl in black said it's okay.
@@mikeholtzclaw3995she's saying "yes, it was... yes, it was". Seems like the girl in white did not think that was a pin and was a grump about it so I'm guessing the little shove was a lil 'stay down' for the attitude.
Very exciting to see the strong girls fighting. I felt convinced that the white girk would easily put the blue girl to a defeat, but the blue girl was tough and clever.
Well fought and exceptionally well filmed! And they looked great in those singlets. The white one's stylish and very unusual and the faux denim blue ones are hilarious. Huge improvement on the usual garb.
@@nunya_bizniz I hadn't noticed but I suppose the solution would be to wear a white thong She looked great anyway, they both did, and it was a very exciting match.
It went personal at the end there! I'm pro-Illinoisan, but the Asian dragon motif on the WOW's singlet is cool - reminded me of being stationed in Okinawa & Japan! I wish they have it black. Otherwise, nice match!
Hi, the blue girl was smart and waited for the occasion when it was possible to pin the very strong white girl. Strong and smart, a nice combination, agree?
That push off at the end was no accident. You can hear Alicia's coach say at the end as he points to Zella, "She does it all the time." In other words, I think Alicia was just "giving back" to Zella. If that's the case, Alicia needs to show more class and sportsmanship than that. Don't sink to another wrestler's tactics if they do something unethical.
They both did great! White got caught at the end. Great hip thrust from denim. But she did keep pushing white by the face, I guess that’s the name of the game
I don't think the push was the issue. Z was mad bc she thought it wasn't a pin. But her sister yelled "watch your mouth" and "watch your f****** mouth" right after A made the comment 😂
As an MMA fan, this comes as a little bit of a shock to me. Didn't know that there were any outlets for girls to learn freestyle wrestling. Always thought middle/high schools offered it as a boys only sport, and same for colleges. Majority of successful women in MMA with grappling backgrounds come from Brazilian jui jitsu or judo. There's tons, and I mean tons, of strong wrestlers in the men's divisions. I was under the impression that women in MMA had to learn wrestling in dedicated MMA gyms. It's good to see schools offer wrestling as a sport for girls as well as the boys.
Uhmm no. Miesha Tate is a wrestler, Carla Esparza is a wrestler. Both UFC champions. Tatiana Suarez is an olympic wrestler. Sarah McMann was an olympic wrestler. You are not much of an MMA fan. I reckon you probably only know Conor, Ronda, Khabib, Nate Diaz and just a few more names...
Great match. But the woman (maybe mother) should not be trash talking like that at the end. Beat, then respect your opponent. I even expect that the winner should allow for the looser to pout a little. But there should be no room for the winners' parents to make fun of or insult the losing athlete.
@@zymond8405 did you hear the adult female talking yeah to the girl in white that you got caught numerous times. Apple doesn't fall far from the tree!!!
Didn't understand why the girl in white was so upset, then looked again at how the other girl pressed on her neck after pinning her, that's uncalled for.
@@MidwestWrestle thank you. Sorry for being lazy. I really need to do this on my channel, so thanks for making me realize that. The Sony is beautiful, but the stabilization is really what caught my eye. I wish I could take a substantial rig with some weight out to where I film. It can be limiting. But wow… nice work
A pin in freestyle is just a touch of the back to the mat. Yes she was pinned but white may have pinned blue a couple of seconds earlier. A better referee would have seen it. He also missed some exposure points earlier in the match.
At the very end of the video, there's a woman in a black shirt who is obviously taunting the wrestler who lost. I don't know if that's the winner's mom or some other person, but that taunting is really childish, and it might give an indication of where the shove in the neck came from.
She not happy-at-all about that verdict. Not Happy. Thought a rumble would occur on the mat. She definitely had her shoulders pinned to the mat. Great victory. Wrestling, is just like chess. Keep moving around, exhaust your opponent, and grab the opportunity for victory.
At 3:56, does the winner say "You're trash" or "Good match?" Judging from the loser's reaction, I'd bet on the former. It also looked to me as if the winner deliberately placed her hand on the loser's neck for that "push off" after the pin.
I'm not sure the push off was the issue. Z was mad bc she thought it wasn't a pin. You can see her sister in the background saying "watch your mouth" and "watch your f**** mouth" right after A made the comment
After watching it over and over, i noticed two things. It may have been a pin, but the ref really wasn't in position to call it. The second is, that was really a punk a$$ move to push off on the other girl's neck. I might be old school, but if you have just won a contest, act like a winner, not an ahole. I can see why the girl in white really would have liked to retaliate but kept her cool, even though upset.
Yep, that's exactly what I saw, too. Poor sportsmanship from the victor. I don't blame the other girl for being upset by that push off her neck. It was classless move. And the other lady screaming -- "It's okay. You got caught!" -- thinking she's a poor sport rather than seeing her wrestler (the winner) was in the wrong.
I don't see a problem with the push off. It looks slightly rude, but she was probably just standing up. You're so fired up after a match, probably neither one of them even noticed it happened. Also painless compared to the rest of a match.
Yeah, you definitely misinterpreted the entire situation. Girl in blue was actually an incredibly good sport. I made a post that details what actually happened.
Oh my, girls getting it on in a fight, the girl in blue Alicia did a good job reversing that near fall by the one in White Zella, but that pushing her neck back was a beachy move, sorry.
The girl in the white is way too high when they tie up I can't believe the girl in the blue is not shooting for a single leg or double leg take down. The girl and white is literally standing straight up when they tie up.
"Article 43 - The Fall When the defensive wrestler is held by his opponent with his two shoulders against the mat for a sufficient time to allow the referee to observe the total control of the fall, the resulting hold is considered to be a fall. For a fall at the edge of the mat to be recognized, the competitor’s shoulders must be completely in the orange zone and the head must not touch the protection area. A fall in the protection area is not valid."
As noted in the video description, this was actually filmed in State College, Pennsylvania. Happy to be corrected if I am wrong, but I thought Pennsylvania was considered part of the East Coast family.
Coaches from the blue side were too competitive to notice the opportunity to correct dishonorable behavior, especially important in these formative years. I think the winning side carries special responsibility to not kick a horse while it's down, and they dropped the ball. The push on the neck was uncalled for, the adult lady's screams were unproductive, and the coach was too busy attributing blame to the other side to focus on their own side's behavior. In contrast, the other side's coaches were quick to deescalate emotions of their own athlete.
100% agree. I came to the comments to figure out what was the kerfuffle at the end of the match. That push off did seem very unnecessary. Her coach really should have said something other than "That's awesome" and make excuses. I just watched the 46 kg Girls Freestyle (Maya vs Kara-Lynn) and the girl in red is super aggressive throughout. But at the end when she is beaten, she shakes the opponents hand, give genuine thanks for a good match and even gives her a hug.
I do this to drive my wrists into the mat, which makes it hard for your opponent to get wrist control. If you have wrestled, you know that wrist control is a gamechanger so by doing this, you can't grab the wrist, she may be doing it for different reasons, but thats based on what I do! Hope this helps, sorry if it's really wordy lol
@@RichelleSyer Thanks for the info! I know nothing about the sport except what I have seen the past week on this channel. I had the same question since I see it most every video.
Wow, some of you commenters whine about anything, I watched the ending 3 times and all it looks like is she posted her hand on the opponent while standing up. Damn, such hyper sensitive people in these comments. Being offended by every small thing makes a very weak person.
Push and trash talk at end of the match was unnecassary. We see it at the end of some men's NCAA (reference AJF disqualification) and it looks bad there too.
The girl in the blue was rubbing it in at the end. She didn’t have to push off the girls chest. I can understand the girl in the white being a bit pissed. Bad sportsmanship.
I have been watching a lot of these and there seems to be a little history/bad blood between the two teams. Most of you guys are misinterpreting the video entirely and aren't even hearing the video properly, because you don't have context. I also think a lot of you are blowing the push thing entirely, you guys talk as if she face palmed her face to the floor hulk style. I think she was just getting up and it just happened accidentally. Zella(white/WOW) wasn't even mad about some "push", she was mad because she didn't believe the ref made the right call. She said it wasn't a pin, but Alycia(blue/Cornstars) was saying "it was" a few times and then "congrats" followed by handshake. Right after Zella's sister/teammate Ollie said "Watch your mouth!" followed by "Watch your fucking mouth!". THEN the lady in black said "You got caught, it's okay!". It's interesting how people are saying Alycia was "classless" while completely ignoring the fact that she got cussed out and didn't retaliate. Everybody search Ollie's match on this channel, that girl is aggressive and a bad sport who will show you what a real bad intentional push looks like.
