Schitt's Creek is so deserving. Too bad it took the academy AND this country so long to recognize it's brilliance. One of the best comedies to come along in years. Where has Dan Levy been all this time? He takes after his father: comedy GENIUS. And a huge congrats to the entire Rose family cast to win Emmy's in all 4 of their amazing roles. BRAVO!!
This just in, Eugene Levy just won another award. Dad of the Year. The way he gushes about Dan is just lovely. He's so damn proud of him, as he should be.
I saw him in person at a public event a few years ago. Didn't approach him as I figure leave him alone to enjoy some private time with his family. Although hordes of people approached for pics and autographs. Never did he refuse anyone. Lovely, gracious man. Truly deserving of all life's blessings he has achieved 🙏
@@anyal1987 The entire Levy family and the cast of Schitt's Creek all love and support each other. Dan and his family and everybody in the cast have always condemned homophobia. After a TV critic called Dan "fey", the entire Levy clan called this guy out! I kid you not. Dan's mother and sister chewed this guy up like a steak tartare.
In the 72 year history of The Emmy Awards Schitt's Creek is the first comedic show to: Have swept all four of the major acting categories. Have a father/son duo win Emmys at the same time And Eugene and Catherine have both won their first-ever acting Emmys. Won the most Emmys in one night, 9 in all, beating the previous record held by The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
I just finished the show. Freakin brilliant. And I know I missed a lot, cuz with four teenagers in my house and under lockdown, it's chaos so I can't wait for a rewatch.
it's also one of three tv media to win all the "big" awards (the 4 acting, writing, directing, Outstanding X) in a single season. The other two are Angels in America and The Crown.
@@mitchmiecielica5017 Actually The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel won 8 awards in the comedy categories in 2018 and then Fraser did that in 2006 winning 6 awards.
@@CelesteKTheNewWaveRevue The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel did not win Best Lead Actor in X and did not win the best supporting actor in X in 2018. So it is not a counter example to what I said. Frasier was off the air in 2006 and thus didn't win anything that year. If you are referring to 1996 while it won Best X and Best writing in X it won no other major category. Frasier never won best lead actress period. So no this isn't a counterexample to what I wrote. The Crown, Schitt's Creek and Angels in America are the only media to win all the major categories-meaning Best actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Writing, Directing Outstanding X-in a single season/ceremony at the Emmys. Some films-Silence of the Lambs, It Happened One Night-have won the "big 5" at the Oscars in a similar feat but picking up casting, editing while missing out best actor is not.
“Oh, yay, David, yay!” Fucking FINALLY. This show deserves every success and I’m grateful to anyone who’s involved in it. I’ve never laughed and cried so much in my life as I did for any other series I binged. I’m rewatching it now and it’s just as good as the first watch. Thank you, Schitt’s Creek fam! ❤️
Finally, two comedic geniuses, Eugene and Catherine, get their just rewards for 6 long years of hard work. As well as two young CGIT. Comedic Geniuses In Training, Daniel and Annie getting their just rewards as well.
Dan Levy is the real deal, just hours before this he was online with thousands taking a course called “Indigenous Canada” . He walks the walk and doesn’t just throw out meaningless talk. So proud for all the cast and crew of Schitt’s Creek 💕 ❤️❤️
Dan has the calm patience of a saint to deal with the people who don't like him or don't like his dad or don't like Noah for some reason? I think that Schitt's Creek is a really fun show to watch so I don't really understand why it is that some people don't like the show or don't like the Levys?
@@calisongbird I don't even know the answer to that question? Some people just have some sort of blind hatred towards Dan, his dad, or Noah. I know why some people don't like Noah. I think it's because, sexually, he's straight and he played a gay character. And some in the gay community think that this sort of role should only go to actors who are gay. But I think Noah did a great job with the Patrick Brewer character. They don't like Dan because they think that he's just pawning off of his family name Levy. They don't like Eugene because he's not playing the very same deadpan characters that he played on SCTV? IDK how people can just expect Eugene to keep right on doing the same stuff he did when he was 30 years old? He's 74 now. Not 30. So people just can't keep right on doing the same things that they did when they were younger? It's something that I don't really understand.
@@CelesteKTheNewWaveRevue I haven’t really heard of anyone not liking them either. There are many discussions about people not liking the Patrick character, which I don’t get because I absolutely loved Patrick. But none of it had anything to do with Noah being straight playing a gay character. That has been done by many many many people, Michael C Hall did it brilliantly in 6 feet under and I do mean BRILLIANTLY!
It's very moving to him. His family has always condemned homophobia and so has the entire cast of the show. Dan loves his dad and he got into acting and film production because of his dad but he knew that he didn't want to use his family's last name in order to get somewhere.
@@xxshrekthedestroyerxx8008 Why? They made history by sweeping the Emmys in major acting categories, a father/son duo won Emmys on the same night, and Eugene and Catherine both won their first acting awards. What the hell is wrong with that?
I was happy to see dan win but turned off when he mentions voting... not the place. This is an awards show For entertainment. The us politics is for people to do their own research . Not to be influenced by movie stars.
@@essenestephanie He did not ask or advise you WHO to vote. He just asked the American viewers to vote. Does that bother YOU? Then you have underlying problems, not them.
Every person on Schitt's Creek cast deserves an EMMY -- and I guess they get it with the Outstanding Cast win, but truly an amazing cast and its a shame they were overlooked originally because it was a Canadian show not on a major or minor US network.
I think for many of us who watched the show from its premiere on the CBC, this was “our” show which for years was a best kept secret. It was flawless from beginning to end and I am so proud of them all. The little Canadian show that could and did!
Gotta be honest if it wasn’t for lockdown Schitts Creek would’ve passed me by. I binge watched it back in April/May and after rehydrating because of all the happy crying (Simply the Best will never be the same) I immediately rewatched my fave episodes. So there was one positive out come of this enforced isolation.
I dont usually watch sitcoms but I jinished watching the show after binging for the past week. I feel the same it has made things so much better at least for a little while and I am truly thankful for that.
Took ages to be recognised, but this is oh so sweet!!! A clean sweep - acting, writing, directing, and series. What a way to go out!!!! This is so deserved. One of the best, most genius shows ever created👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻😭😭😭😭😭😭😘😘😘😘
Just so you know I’m crying right now. This is a moment for this show means so much to me. This show changed my life. I’m so proud of the Levys and the entire cast and crew. They deserved it all!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I have to apologize profusely because I only watched this now and I am 3 seasons in but I can declare this now that it is turning out to be my favorite series OF ALL TIME. It is everything that you could hope for in a show: whipsmart writing, brilliant acting, outstanding concept over all. And yes, let me reecho most of the sentiments here: I AM CRYING OVER ALL THESE ACCEPTANCE SPEECHES!!
Schitt's Creek is truly one of the best comedy shows in a very long time. Every time a new season came out, I would start the whole series over again just so I could watch it continuously - and I laughed every single time at all the same moments in the show. It's just THAT good. Canadian television is truly underrated in my opinion. We have Schitt's Creek, LetterKenny, and Kim's Convenience - all great comedies that showcase inclusivity and diversity. Congratulations to the entire Schitt's Creek cast and crew!! This award was SO well deserved! I believe you guys are in Toronto (I know Dan lives there because he mentioned it during his episode of Hot Ones). Much love from Newmarket, Ontario! Also, I just want to say how much I am loving this new format for award shows. I love seeing all the stars in their homes expressing their love and admiration for the work of their fellow creators.
I literally just started watching Schitts Creek. This show is hilarious and so well written! Moira is my favourite but just love the scenes with Stevie and David! This show definitely deserved the Emmy!!
Okay, Schitt's Creek sweeping all the comedy Emmy awards this year was literally one of the few good things that happened this year yet. It was such a win for hope, perseverance, love, acceptance and inclusivity, especially at a time when we all badly needed it! And they all deserved the wins SO MUCH!!! Especially after all the snubs the other 5 years. Love you ROSES! Will miss you so much, but this is the perfect ending to a perfect show! 😍
I remember when I first saw the trailer of Schitt’s Creek. I read most of the comments saying how it was so unoriginal and how that show looked so bad. And look at us now.. winning every award. I had my doubts about the show. But I’m so glad I decided to watch it. What a gem.
This is one of the BEST series of all times. The most unique and unforgettable characters. When I hear Schiits Creek I smile, that's the effect it has on me.
Tbbt? And I agree, this is a comedy series up there with the best of them. I'm in Australia, so I have other British and Australian comedies that I love. But in terms of US comedies, this is my second favourite comedy EVER. Beaten only by Seinfeld. Edit: worked it out. You mean "The Big Bang Theory" I cannot stand that show. Sheldon is just so fucking annoying and the acting is terrible. I doubt that show ever won an Emmy. I could be wrong. Think I'll google it.
@@helenwa1651 Sheldon is annoying because he's supposed to be. And as far as "terrible acting" is concerned, Jim Parsons has won 4 prime time emmys and 1 Golden Globe for the leading actor in a comedy series for playing Sheldon.
What a great speech by Eugene & Daniel. Eugene encapsulated all that need to be said and thanking, crediting all of the cast. You could see all who worked in the background hug each other in congrats, 🎊 so good!
Just started watching Schitt's Creek on Monday. Went into it being all, "Blah everyone says it's a good show but whatever." because I had nothing to watch. By the end of that day I had gone through two seasons and could not stop talking about it. It really is a very great show, so put together and it's freaking hilarious. Every one of these Emmy's is 1000% deserved.
Very well deserved. I wish people would stop suggesting that it won because we were all stuck at home. There were plenty of other shows we were all watching too, none of them had the impact Schitt's Creek has had. It was about the world they created, the performances they delivered and the amazing story they all told. That's what rightly gave them so many awards.
I was really upset that Insecure did not win so I decided to hate-watch Schitts creek . Now here I am, watching press junkets and awards speeches trying to stretch the love and joy I came to have for this show more. Bravo Dan Levy, I can say that this show deserved all the love and recognition and it is an unforgettable watch
So, so, so deserving! This is by far my favorite show ever! I love the cast, I love the storyline, the way it was written, I am so happy for all the work all of you out put in! I am so proud of everyone, in front and behind the scenes!!
A dream come true for all of us fans as well! So proud that talent, kindness and (real) love were finally recognized. Dan always said he wanted to leave on a high note! "And you did it, you f***ing did it, brother" (Quoting Noah Reid here for those who don't know :D This is how he reacted to their 2019 Emmy nomination)
Oh my gosh I love your show so much. I watched every episode and now I am rewatching out of order like visiting an old friend. The second time watching I pick up more details and hidden jokes in stage.
I’m here after binging the series in less than a month 😭 This is the best show from beginning to end. I have never watched a show that I loved each second. So well deserved
The amount of times i cried watching the emmys. I love the people and the show so much, beyond words can explain. They deserve every single emmy they were awarded. Outstandingly deserved.
Brilliant. I'm so happy this show finally got some recognition and not only that but swept away all the comedy awards in one swoop. The writing, the performances, the filming - everything was perfect. Amazing message within the show
I've just reached the end of the fourth season and it's been great seeing it develop into the heartfelt show it's become. I think the fourth season really hit a magical stride (and there were many hints prior) and I assume the rest, which I'm yet to see, will be just as endearing. Not to mention, the fourth season made me cry at least five times! You know a comedy is good when it's nuanced with fine dramatic elements. Congrats on a legendary winning streak.
Schitt's Creek is my all time favorite comedy, and so I'm delighted for Dan and the whole company. It's a beautiful show. It's also delightful that there are so many other brilliant nominees and so much creative and funny television right now.
Pretty sure hers is still on the table, there's one there when it cuts to Catherine and Annie, and in Annie Murphy's acceptance no one handed her one, so I dont think hers was one of the ones delivered.
@@angelat4512 Yes, but as he is one of the Executive Producers of the show, the award technically is awarded to him. Eugene Levy, Fred Levy, Andrew Barnsley, Ben Feigin and David West Read would also technically be named as winners of the award as well.
I LOVE THIS SHOW. I discovered it a year ago and have rewatched it 6 times and still counting. Thank you Netflix for putting this on your streaming service in a time of need!
This is one of my most favorite comedies. So nice & touching. So enjoyable to watch more than once. I’m still laughing 😆 every time - straight V from SF.
Thanks to everyone for making us so proud. Not only for this historic sweep, but for making the absolute best show, the show that we all need more than anything right now, for six glorious years. I will miss visiting Schitt's Creek so much. Congratulations to you all.
I remember watching this show for the first time about 2 years ago on Netflix and search if it had won any awards. I was surprised it hadn't won an Emmy, then thought "another great show that's going to be ignored" then got sad when it was announced 6th and final season. So watching it win ALL the nominations made me overwhelm with joy. So well deserved and so happy it finally got the recognition it truly deserves. Congratulation :D
Omg What a thrill, they did an amazing job with Shitt's Creek. So sad that they didnt go for another season. Love you guys the whole crew, I hope we will see more of the Levy's great work again soon. 🏆🙏🏻💗
The candidates for this category were amazing and to be honored among such wonderful stories speaks volumes. The finale season was deeply moving and a perfectly crafted end. Schitts Creek deserved ever bit of this!
Schitt's Creek is truly one of my comedies and I only started watching a few days ago! I can't believe I passed it so many times without a second look it was not until I watched a couple scenes on youtube and I realized it was right up my alley! Such an amazing show it will having you have on the floor laughing all night long!
i watched schitts creek initially because they won all these emmy’s. i wish that i would have been watched it before so i could have shared this joy with them but rewatching all the acceptance speeches tonight was very rewarding. i love them all so much and am so proud of them! they are so deserving.
Goodness I think I’m crying because this show was such a wonderful television highlight of the year for me personally (pretty much binge-watched it these last few weeks or so...still working my way through the 6th season).
