Knocking it out of the park with these system details. Best 737 channel on RU-vid IMO. Nice job once again!

Little diamonds those system videos. Amazing job, thanks! Although my brain needs cooling now.

So the battery charger becomes effectively a TRU when the battery is fully charged

I have heard from my company's mtx people that if we were to leave the DC power display on Battery over night you risk draining the battery even if the battery its self is in the off position. Is this true? I am a ramper who's trained in APU operation for moving the Jet on the ground via tow.

Yes, as the battery telemetry that measures the voltage will draw a very small current (~1200 mAh) to power the display computer logic system, itself. Typically, this is not a real issue with modern dual-battery systems, but it was a minor concern with single-battery systems. However, the batteries would have to be quite discharged (more than half) for this to be a real concern. That all said, yes, it is best practice to not leave the battery monitor indicator switch on the BAT or AUX BAT (if equipped) setting in a shutdown (cold-and-dark) configuration, when possible. Hope that answers your questions, and BZ.

Sorry for being 18 months late but I have a question, I’m also aware you are now operating the A330 so may not know the answer but hopefully someone does. You mentioned that the only time the system automatically generates power in replacement of another is when the APU is turned off in flight after a no-bleed takeoff. If I were to replicate the same scenario but on the ground (bleeds off, APU on, GEN 1 & 2 available), would that feature still work? Or does it require the aircraft to be airborne? Sorry if I over complicated that or didn’t give enough detail haha. Thank you in advance

To answer my own question, it would not work.

Is this the electrical system found in the 737 Max 8? I have a school project for my aircraft systems class

Is this system layout basically the same since the original 737? It seems so much more complicated compared to the A320 one

I can only comment from the 300 onwards as that's what I'm type rated on (300-MAX) and those have basically been the same ever since. Not sure if the 100/200 were different.

Hello How long can the battery alone power the aircraft?
@TachiTekmo
@TachiTekmo 2 года назад
As mentioned in the video, a single-battery system will supply both the 28V DC and (through the inverter) 115V AC busses for approximately 30 minutes. A dual-battery system should last approx. 60 min. Hope that answers your question, BZ.

Guys, if you think the 737NG electric system is complicate, please try to understand the type rate DC-9 MD-80s electric system in 45 min 😂

The MD-80 is a fascinating vehicle, yet very complex. It was the Douglas way ... 🙄☺️
