Hajra Bibi (Gurdev Kaur Sundhu) was separated from her family at the time of India Pakistan partition in 1947. Gurdev Kaur was living in Canada at that time. In 2018, her interview consisting of her autobiography was published on a RU-vid channel. Due to this interview, she is reconnected with her sister, living in Chichawatni Pakistan. the story took another tragic turn when Gurdev Kaur Sandhu passed away due to cardiac arrest on August 15, 2020.
Now Bill Sundhu and Sandra the son and daughter of Hajra Bibi/Gurdev Kaur Sundhu, along with seven other family members visited Pakistan to see their aunt.
Through RU-vid and personal dedication, Desi Infotainer is preserving the stories of those who experienced the violence of Partition and helping families to reconnect.
We travel from village to village to collect these stories. we believe that there is a sea of forgotten tales which should be discovered.

Great work Chauhan sahib. Hajira Bibi went out of punjab in 1950 since then she apart from her hardships, she kept Punjabi language with her heart. Look at Bill Sandhu ji, he was born and brought up in Canada just listen how sweet and perfect his Punjabi is ! Reason for this is his mother Hajira Bibi . Very inspiring story with happy going.

My mother was born in 1932 in Sialkot, and during 2020 I watched the original story of Hajra Bibi in her first interview sitting with my mother. As a 2nd generation Punjabi Pakistani living in UK I have an interest in the Partition stories , and during lockdown my mother and I used to listen and watch many of the first hand account Partition stories on the various RU-vid channels. For my mother this story in particular was most interesting and I remember her listening to this story totally engrossed, and she kept saying to me “this really happened”, “many things took place at Partition” etc. Luckily my parents family were always based in Sialkot, so did not see any of the horrors of forced migration, but my mother always told me snippets of other stories she had heard about, even some she heard from people in UK after she moved here in 1961. It is very good that Bill Sundhu has managed to travel with his family members to see his mums family remaining in Pakistan. I lost my mother 7 months ago (aged 89) and watching the latest videos brought back some of times I shared with my mother watching Hajra Bibi’s story ❤️

My father was born in 1935 . We also started to see these stories during virus lock down. He also migrated from Jalandhar Kot badal Khan. Alhumdullillah he is watching with me .However l lost my mother in August. She was also a migrated child of age 3.

I met a dopple ganger at university in England, he was a sikhi I a Muslim, everybody including me could not believe we looked exactly identical, he told me he was from jalander, my family from rawalpindi, he asked his family and yes they originally from rawalpindi, my ancestors are Chauhan and dogra from rajasthan and jammu some 300 yrs, they migrated to rawalpindi, my ancestors originate from a nag Singh, before we became Muslim, my Hindu caste was suryavanshi/nagyavanshi, as far as I am concerned one God, but we know the almighty by different names, simple, 🙏❤️

We all went through with something like this. My mom told us the same thing. I wished i could wipe out the sadness of the life of everyone. I wished this had never happened, but it did. What a sad moment. So many people went through. It's a very sad life I cried too with you. My parents had the same circumstances I could relate to this my parents and myself.
