We bought this stone house in Italy during the pandemic in 2020. The house was a ruin and we saved everything we could, unfortunately that meant only four stone and clay walls! The back wall, against the terrain, was close to collapse; the roof beams were eaten and basically reduced to dust; the inside separation walls were easily taken down and the whole project turned into a heavy renovation/rebuild.
Follow our journey as we turn this old stone house into a beautiful home 😊.

When Vince was sitting with one tile left and his leg was over it, you could tell he was over it. Then you came and it picked up again. At that point would have thought it would be complete but he needs a break now. Can't blame him even if he is doing a beautiful job. Sometimes you need to go away for a while and then come back to finish. You both have done a wonderful job on the whole house. Thanks for sharing and have a nice break from it all.

The times when Vince had that look of, “We should have paid someone to do this for us…” But soon, when he’s sitting in that room, with the fire and a nice cup of tea, the satisfaction will be enormous. Never mind the small miscalculations-you did it yourself and it’s AWESOME!

Das stimmt. Bei diagonaler Verlegung der Friesen sind die schiffe Ränder nicht so auffällig, aber wenn das Möbel steht, sieht sowieso keiner. Wie in einer Anekdote über türkischen Maler : Auftraggeber: "wieso hast du nicht hinter der Gardinen gestrichen ? ", Maler : "Sieht doch keiner !" 🙂

When I was in my 30s, my then-partner and I ceramic tiled our entire 140 square meter high-rise apartment (in Honolulu, Hawaii). While we worked full-time. It was six months of total hell. You're nearly done. Congratulations -- and a beautiful job!

Great work guys. Keep it up. There isn't a worse filling than laying bricks on your knees for a long time. And anyone that has experienced this leg lock at 12:35 knows what i am talking about. This working posture is the most dangerous,along with standing still, looking down (like chefs work) and can lead to serious orthopaedic problems . In fact, i don't know, not even one person that work in tilling for many years and hasn't had hipp surgery. My father and brother in law included.

What a tricky floor to lay.Well done with your perseverance and insistence on perfection,the floor pattern is an excellent choice for the main room.Each floor being different is a nice touch.Your videos continue to be inspirational and entertaining. I wonder how many people decided to undertake renovations because they now believe they can do it after watching your success and follow your methods?

Hello, lovely to see you both again. Your house is coming along beautifully. it must feel like those tiles are taking forever. But in the context of what you have done so far, not so long. It is a hard job though you make it look easy.. You are both doing a fantastic job even with the challenges those tiles are giving you. Only a small bit to go…..I understand the feeling that I cannot look at it any more. Think of this way… you can soon have the immense satisfaction of walking all over it and knowing you didn’t let it walk all over you by defeating you! A break from it is not a bad plan though. If it was easy to do, everyone would have custom herringbone terracotta floors. The main pattern is not so bad, it is the edges and anything obstructing the pattern where most of the time goes. Fortunately you did not go with a random pattern, that can get confusing fast. I think the floor looks gorgeous even with the imperfections. As always, good job all, looking forward to the kitchen design!

Beautiful job you two!! Vince I see your skill in some of those tiles you cut 1-2 cm wow. You are truly skilled in it now. Great job! You can use all your cutting scraps of tile around your garden to keep the weeds down and hold moisture, and break them up into smaller pieces in the bottom of any garden pots on your patio for drainage.

There is actually a tool that lets you press against the area you need to cut around so you get a perfect copy of the area, you can then transfer/trace it onto the tile so the cut is an exact fit! I bought two and they’re amazing! They save AGES in measuring and then trying to match it on the tile. It’s especially perfect for cutting around organic or uneven surfaces.

una consulta supongo que van a poner algo en las juntas de las baldosas azulejos o pisos , para que esas uniones queden tapadas , se suele hacer cemento con arena y algún colorante se esparce en seco y luego se riega con manguera para que frague , hay muchas otras formas también, excelentes los videos
