Greetings from Ohio. My 74 year old husband (now 75) met you at Paul Bunyan Oct 2019. He told Mike that watching your channel brought back his love for the woods. We have 13 acres. He told Mike tat he was going to buy a sawmill. I want you both to know that he bought the mill. He has been getting trees ready to be milled. All this on our property. Each piece of wood is handled 5 times to the bins not including the times the tractor touches it. Conveyor definitely saves one more handling. Love your set up.

Mike, Melissa, If you want a food plot on the point you will need to open it up to full Sun. Clover grows best in full Sun. Down side is Herbicides to keep the weed out gets expensive. Had several acres in the mountains of NC in Clover and did well as food plots. Expense made us switch a few plots to alfalfa. I personally think it was a better food plot and held more deer, turkey and bear. Easier to maintain, and in the end you can cut and sale the bails. Just a thought from an old Hydroseeder transplanted here in NC.

Mike, I don't know where you plan to put the sawmill shed but looking at the slope behind the chipper, if you built a platform off of that slope, you could roll the logs level right onto the mill. Just a thought. Good luck.

Hey Mike here is the equation to determine cant size🚜 For instance a log that is 18” across at small end = radius is 9” 9 squared =81 81x2 = 162 square root of 162= 12.7............... that will get you a perfect 12x12 . Half that up and cut 2x6s. Of course imperfections in the log will make cant size smaller. Give it a try

Hey Mike. Why don't you use the grapple bucket to gather up the fire wood. Either dump it into the front end loader or a trailer then haul it to the splitter.

That little point is a perfect spot for a small food plot. However, unless you open up the canopy and let sunlight in it simply won’t grow very well. It will need pelletized lime 40 lbs/5000 sq ft and about 400 lbs/ac of 10-20-20 fertilizer to prepare a seed bed. Clover seed at 10 lbs/ac. Till, pack, spread seed, pack again. Good luck!

The small saw useful to average homeowner who has large trees in yard. After storms twigs and branches fall and need to be disposed. Perfect tool to use to cut debris for city to haul away.

Mike, ya think you might eventually add some styrofoam insulation glued to the interior of your mini-cabin? Maybe it'll save some fuel on that little heater you have in there. I used it for a dog house I built for a neighbor once upon a time and that dog was a "happy camper" in there.(sans heater)

That little saw would be perfect with a marking stick to mark your logs to cut fire wood with big saw. If you can take that guard off it would be perfect when butchering hogs or deer to cut legs and pelvis bone or split in half to hang to cut up later.

easier spliting from raised bucket now if you could just stack on pallet after split and lift pallet or 2 onto trailer to deliver labor cut down

I don't know what it is, but I could watch the chainsaw and log splitter all day long, but I'm not a fan of the sawmill. Weird. Loved the music today, good mix of down home stuff and some classic piano. Love it. Happy Easter!
