As most of you know, I have an obsession with day trading attention and always making sure that you have as much as possible. You can't do ANYTHING without the attention of the end consumer. Before you try to pitch me your product or get me to donate to your charity, you have to get my attention in some way.
Questions I want to hear from you own: What did you think of this keynote? What do you think about the Stockholm Syndrome? Remember, your comments are my oxygen!!
Thank you for watching this video. I hope that you keep up with the daily videos I post on the channel, subscribe, and share your learnings with those that need to hear it. Your comments are my oxygen, so please take a second and say ‘Hey’ ;).

The fact that Gary put up an ENTIRE keynote as a Dailyvee is incredibly generous. These are one of the cornerstones of his value proposition, and he's giving one away for free.

The takeaway(s) = - Study each social media platform & it's nuances. Provide content for each platform based on the platform itself. - Stop being romantic about how you feel the world should be & not getting to grips with the way it actually is.

When the lady starting asking questions about Trump at 55:00 it automatically exposed her to WHAT and WHO she (or the source of the question) is watching and LISTENING to-weather it be TRUE NEWS or FAKE NEWS. This solidified what Gary just got finished saying.

This was extremely inspiring. Thank you! I felt like this was more of a battle and struggle rather than a presentation. There were lots of questions which seemed to try to act as devil advocate. I really appreciate you for standing your ground. Very well done, and great job speaking so eloquently for the people who actually would like to listen. It seemed very political, and I really appreciated you bringing meaning to what your presentation was actually about. Well done!

The more I follow you, the more I love (and respect) you. It's been about two years now. I was also a baby entrepreneur: Daughter of a single mother who sold antiques at flea markets in the seventies and early eighties. I don't know if this is true, but she told me that she made me help her put a cast iron wood stove in the back of her pickup truck when I was three. I will never forget being about six and buying a box of tiny vintage toys for $2.00 at the front Royal Flea Market, hauling it back to my mom's booth and selling the things for .50 each. I probably made twenty bucks and my mom was so proud of me. That may have been the moment I got hooked on the feeling of selling things to make money. My mom ended up with an antique store in Washington, D.C. Again, I relate! Grew up working in the store, after school, every weekend, whenever. From the time I was eight she would drop me off at the bank to make deposits, or at the store where I would roll up the gates, turn on the lights, sweep the front, count out the bank, put on the music and open up. I went to the New York boutique shows with her, yadda, yadda. Retail kid. I wanted to do wholesale. Long story short, had some success in the nineties with a jewelry and t-shirt business. Big breaks, good stores: Anna Sui, Betsy Johnson, a street wear store run by Eddie Cruz, X-girl, Fred Segal, then Japanese buyers. I got bored/overwhelmed, dropped out, moved to Mexico...Started an export company, then got into real estate. Now I am in Japan and have discovered something really amazing. It feels like right time right place, everything coming together. Here's my question: What are your thoughts on Airbnb experiences? I have some others, including a kick ass tennis shoe idea. Anna Sui will vouch for me that I am very creative, and can read trends like no body's business. XOXO From a fan in Japan and (((Thanks))) for the inspiration.

When your empathy for your customer is 100% genuine, that really is powerful - the big mistake I see many making is to simulate empathy, feign emotional intelligence, some can do it, but it very often is transparent to people-consumers are not as dumb as many seem to think.

Love these long playing keynote videos, especially the Q&A - the simple, direct, sometimes harsh but always caring responses you give, and the patience u deploy to answer same questions over & over. You set a new benchmark for leaders at all levels, at work or at home. Stockholm Syndrome is 100% about perspective. No judgement, just POV.

That was a great key note, you really hit home with me. I took away that i should expand on the niche I have found, and advertise to a bit wider audience. As far as the stolkholm syndrome, our culture is a direct example of it, on a macro scale...

I loved how he found the person who asked the question about "too small of a target audience" because he wanted to make sure that person understood what he meant in the answer. I hate it (and i think Gary does too) when the questions are turned in and read rather than asked by the person with the question. Gary always wants to make sure that the person understands the answer as well as any follow ups. Gary is THE GOAT!!!

I like how almost every question steered towards "how does the guy that doesnt want to use social media" get ahead or the short cut to the person who doesnt like it. The thing is, if you don't like social media your business will suffer. There is no short cut. The Ecommerce market is so fluid it changes daily if not hourly. Trends shift and so does demand. Learn it by testing it constantly.

Just wanted to say great job on this keynote. I at times thought the presenter(she) was a bit condescending in her tone. You would say certain things and she would make certain noises as to say "yeah, ok" lets move on. You handled it very well as expected. She would use words and or phrases such as. "lets not argue" or "thats your opinion" with certain points you were trying to stress or reiterate. Even cringe worthy at times. had to leave a comment based off that alone. Appreciate the Content G Vee. Keep the movement going!!!!!!!!

So much truth spoken, always has full awareness of the market and willing to share it all. Simply brilliant.

This was great. Really inspiring talk and good motivation. As a content creator with a small podcast, Gary gives me hope. Also, Stockholm syndrome is also a pretty good metaphor for a captive audience.

Great pearls of wisdom! Thanks for sharing. I work in education in China and I've been in the trenches doing guerilla marketing, turning parents and teachers on to better tools and methods. Online marketing is new to me but you've given me inspiration and drive to crush it on WeChat. Haha but that might take more than 30 hours to figure that whole thing out. Do you have any specific tools for hustling online marketing in China? I saw you in Kyle's ReadWrite Labs WeChat group but then you left. ( or maybe someone with your avatar photo )

This is another homerun! I enjoy this! The Stockholm syndrome is real. It;s an undeniable force that takes when an individual begins to feel empathy for their captures. It’s made crazy! But, I’m looking forward to being on the team.

The Stockholm-Syndrome was alive and well in that room! Those people were your prisoners and they came to love you during their captivity! Great Work Gary! Much Love

The concept of reverse-engineering the audience specifically scaling your content to accommodate each specific platform is GOLD! Thanks for that

I loved the comment about don't feel like a dinosaur because social media changes every 60 days--there's opportunity to learn if you engage and listen to the community. So relevant! And of course Gary's ongoing theme of executing is most important along with document, document, document. We learn by doing. The more content we release the more opportunity to learn from it and get better for future content.

Already heard this on the podcast. The part where he razzed luxury brands :D was awesome! Great that the video is out too, and in great quality!

Gary probably gets paid more to do a speech than a rapper gets paid to do a show.
