I'd like to see a predator hunting rig chambered in the new .22ARC. According to Hornady it's a tack driver with an 18" barrel in an AR platform. But personally I like to see a bolt gun with an 22" barrel minimum. Or maybe even a .22 Creedmoor build.
@HandloaderTV
@HandloaderTV 4 месяца назад
22 Creedmoor was actually a cartridge I initially suggested to Yavapai college and the gunsmithing program. We're keeping a tally on the suggestions and we'll add yours to the list! We do have another custom rifle that we'll be doing videos and articles on chambered in 22 Creedmoor but it's got a 20" barrel and it's a bolt gun but keep an eye out for that. Thanks for watching and taking the time to make a suggestion for the next build! --Jeremiah

Would love to see a build for a light weight, 5lbs without scope, 20 inch barrel and chambered in classic .358 Win. for close in stalking rifle. Would be ideal for hunting heavy cover. I recently purchased a Howa Super Lite in 6.5CR and it's a joy to carry in the woods.

Thank you for a comprehensive look at this cartridge,,great workup with alot of powder and bullet data,,alot of guys bashing this caliber with not much data shown ,I agree hornady may have inflated speeds a bit,however I think the efficiancy and updated options of the 7 rem mag is a plus,,,Alot of guys want to compare it to the 28 nosler unfairly way smaller charge ,I own all the 7's and like them all however I think the prc offers the most all around,cost ,accuracy and ballistics to many guys are overly concerned with muzzle velocity.
@HandloaderTV

Thank you very much for the kind words and taking the time to comment your thoughts and experience. I agree in full it's not a fair comparison to the 28 Nosler the cases are very different it's not even close to an apples to apples comparison. I was impressed with this rifle in 7mm PRC and I wouldn't hesitate to buy one myself. --Jeremiah

I like 7mm great caliber. I very much enjoy my 7 rem mag but I did get a PRc because in my state I can't use lead for hunting. I like the heavier bullets but need a faster twist for copper due to lenght. This is where the PRC comes in. I could have rebarrled the rem mag but I needed an excuse to buy another rifle. Ive been thinking and decsided that if you live in and hunt in a area you can see 35 miles with optics a 7mm is like a 30 30 for hunting of you hunt brushy trees open sight 30 30 is perfect. A 7prc is a long range conversion for a very good price in the current econimy we have been dealt now.

Ive read all of the comments and think all of them are based on a spending free willy i know mare than you mind set. This is why i now onw a 7prc.i had a 7mm and loved ot but the accuracy kept me from shooting any thing beond 500 yards for etichal kills. So i rebored to 7prc with a coustom barrel swap for less than 800 dollars. I recently killed a 6 x6 elk at 890 yards with one shot and he dropped were he stood the first and only one to do that if i use the 7mm before. So a cheaper way to get a amazeing ETHICAL peice of equipment. Thanks for the reloading info in thevvideo.

Love it. Keep up the great work. Love the magazine, Love your Channel. I cant tell you how I look forward to HandLoader Magazine, first day it arrives read cover to cover, second day re-read. in the weeks after read again and again. You asked for suggestions for the next Build. Personally I have been dreaming of a 9 lb. 22 CHeetah MKII. Rifled 1:10 or 1:9, targeting 60, to 65 grain varmint bullets. Rifled tighter just eats up Velocity, increases Pressure for the same velocity, and burns barrel steel. Personally I prefer the flat bottomed Winchester Actions, their 3 position safety, the Bartlein Barrel. From there I would leave it up to Yavapai College to finish it up. But a Graphite stock might be nice, and maybe a Set trigger so you would have a normal 3lb pull for field use on coyotes when you might be wearing gloves, and for target, Chuck, and gopher perforating, push forward for a break of a few oz's of pull if preferred when the temps warm.. Thank you for the opportunity.

Hi, I love your YT chanel very much and this video about 7 mm PRC is very educational and interesting. I have few questions: 1. With barrel of 26" , Berger 180gr VLD Hunting, powder Vihtav. N 565 (66.0gr) you are getting 2968 fps. What is the pressure with above stated? 2. I have Hodgon 1000...26"...Berger 180gr.VLD hunting... What is the powder weight for getting around 3000 fps and what would the pressure be? I hope it is still in the safe zone. Best regards from Europe!
@HandloaderTV
@HandloaderTV 3 месяца назад
Thank you very much for the kind words and the excellent questions you ask. We may have to start doing some Q&A videos in the future as we get a lot of really good questions such as this one. 1. With the Vihtavuori N-565 powder a 66 grain charge with the 180 Berger VLD we were right around 62,000 PSI if memory serves me correctly from the notes from the lab. This is a max load. 2. To answer your second questions you should be able to get up to about 2,975 FPS with a 64.6 grain charge of H-1000 but that is a max load so work up slowly to that charge weight and velocity anything over 2,975 FPS and chances are you are over the SAAMI maximum pressure. Sadly I don't think you'd be able to 3,000 FPS without going to a 28-inch barrel with this bullet and powder combination. Great questions and thanks all the support! --Jeremiah

@TheCodyO 4 месяца назад
I don’t think there is a debate there. The 7 Rem Mag is a faster shooting cartridge. The 7 PRC had the edge of using a modern cartridge design and faster twist factory barrels, higher BC bullets in factory ammo. They are both pretty cool cartridges
@SpudOutdoors
@SpudOutdoors 4 месяца назад
@@TheCodyO 280 AI is better than a 7 PRC. The 7 PRC absolutely offered nothing you could already do. Hell just saw a 7mm-05 shoot half moa with a 180 at 2715. Which isn’t to far from a 7 PRC. It’s just a joke of a cartridge. If they would have made it 3.6” over all length with a longer body then it would have been great.
@BadKarma.-
@BadKarma.- 23 дня назад
@SpudOutdoors it did tho....to do those things in most factory rifles just isn't possible, especially without reloading. The 7PRC was built to give the average guy the ability to run factory loads with bullets you would have to reload and possibly re barrel for in AI or Rem Mag
@thehardieway
@thehardieway 4 месяца назад
Apparently hornady claims 2975 fps. With factory ammo for 180 grain match, with a 24 inch barrel. You're averaging 2925 with a 26 inch. Subtract 50-75 fps for a 2 inch loss of barrel length and you're getting 2850 - 2975... a full 125-100 fps SLOWER than hornady claims. Hornady might want to consider not inflating their velocities to market their new cartridge. 👆
@HandloaderTV
@HandloaderTV 4 месяца назад
Thanks for taking the time to watch the whole video and comment, saw your earlier video about the chronograph too, we feel it's easier to just spend a little time towards the end of the video and review the loads rather than call out the velocity after each shot. Then folks can come back and easily reference our videos and data. It's definitely interesting to see what the chronograph says compared to the factory ammunition box. We're also 10 feet from the muzzle something to keep in mind. We do our best to showcase the results exactly as we get them and provide the best, most accurate, unbiased information possible.
