They wanted services for free and when the owner says you have to pay for the services they went to the biased news media! We all know that the media just wants to put out drama for ratings and that's what they did here. The firm did nothing wrong by asking for the money they were owed or by advising the family that this is not a storage facility! They wanted more than they could afford! A direct cremation would have been a few hundred dollars but they want to have the person dressed and rented a casket and took them to a church for a service and all these things cost! I hope I'm making sense to you as a mortician.
@@briannotafan3368and there side is grossly one sided because that's nit what morticians do. We work for families to help them with end of life situations but all of it costs we don't do it for free no matter hiw much we care about the families, the cemetery, casket, flowers, newspaper, cars, and even the stretch limousines that are so popular now, that's all a cost outside of the funeral home! The funeral home puts all that money up upfront and has to wait on insurance to reimburse them at cost.
@@briannotafan3368even if we offer our services to families for free they're still going to be paying something because we just deal with the body everything else is extra.
Not to say other races don’t do wrong bc they all def do, but damn, why my people can’t never be on the up and up when it comes to business?! This is why others of us are hesitant to do business with our own people. Smh
I definitely agree with what you said and I agree with your comment when my father passed the funeral home had a very good reputation but believe me from the time they picked his body up from the hospital I was in their faces up until the time his body was shipped to another state for another funeral home when it comes to stuff like that even though you're grieving you have to stop for a minute take a breath and take care of business
I don’t fall for the appeals to racial solidarity....that’s limited thinkin and self categorizing. So, with that said, I don’t mind anyone of any race to do any needed work and that they includes burying a loved one. As long as they are professional, then they will get my business.
When you walk into a funeral home, they should in turn hand you an itemized price list. If they do not, turn around and walk out. There are plenty more funeral homes you can give your business to. Also, never give these people their insurance policy .
I totally agree with you if they're doing something wrong. Most people think that funeral homes are doing something wrong because they don't like the price of the services they asked for. I think that everyone should sit and talk with a funeral director before being in the situation where you need one so you'll be better prepared when you do need one.
No body can give you these great vides like RU-vid I really enjoy RU-vid , funeral homes have those kinds of funeral directors that will take advantage of people at such a sad time ,
Now this is going to sound bad but both of these guys are black ...I seen about a funeral home in Flint Michigan ..the owner there was black ...and I remember hearing a crazy new story about a funeral home Atlanta Georgia the owner there was black ...wtf is up with all theses black owned funeral homes and horror stories ...shit I thought black ppl didn't like scary movies
I'd like to hear how these people are supposed to run a business when it seems like most of the customers are a bunch of dead beat looser's. You know the funeral home would rather have the money they are owed than some rotting corpse. What rights do the funeral home owners have if they don't get paid?
Those poor ladies & anyone else who had to go through that HELL to make things easier for those people & that is The Funeral Director's job !!! What a very sad & ugly situation this is.
the funeral home makes the arrangements and guarantees payment to the crematorium. the funeral homes mistake (which made them obligated to carry through) was having the service without first receiving payment.
Why are all the shady funeral home directors, and crematories we hear about always Black owned and operated??? I know, I know, recognizing this fact, and pointing it out, makes me racist!
As many know the situation. The morbid aspect to viral contagion, is it possible to use laser directed help for the treatment of this problem? It's like the computer build of masks, it keeps distance, but needs well adapted training.
Sickening. We have lost my Dad and Sister within 2yrs and both times we went with Hansen's Mortuary in Phx Az . Most respectable, understanding, loving Family business. The way they treated my Family was very comforting.
Those guy who is the head of the funeral the who bury the past who have passed away they should check every last funeral home that is in the city of Detroit and Holland Park in Flint and Hamtramck Pontiac they should check them all make sure everything is supposed to be like a posed to be they should find someone who has to write to close them down and to check every last Funeral Home in the city of Detroit and tramadol Pontiac Holland Park and Flint and any other cities and counties
Sounds like they didn’t have life insurance, this is a common issue. It’s up to you to make sure you have your own coverage. If the decedent was elderly or terminally ill and dependent on family it’s up to the family to maintain insurance policies. If someone passes away uninsured the family is financially responsible. This also exposes the shady side of the industry which is why the family should always shop around for a good funeral home possibly before the death and get things written in on paper. Get the insurance policy information and keep it paid up. Best to have everything prearranged and updated with a reputable business.
They still get you -my grandma and grandfather had a few life insurance policies and prepaid for everything Plot-casket-service a family plot -no that was not good enough! They sold her plot and someone else got burried next to my grandfather Well we had to argue for then to put our grandma in her plot and they tried to give us crap about more money- prices have gone up-but thank God we found her cintract Other funeral with my other grandma she paid payment to them every month tell it was paid up in a double plot where her hysband passed long time before her death -in the mean time she gor sick the funeral home sent a bill wanting 2000. More -well grandma could not comeup with her last payment receipt-but to tell her to come up with the miney or they would repo her plot? Where they goung to remove her husband? Well my dad paid it and again did not keep the reciept - when my Grandmother finally did pass she had a grave site funeral -could not even finish the prayer -the funeral home owner interrupted the minister told my mom she could not wait any longer and needed money Keep reciepts make copies and keep the original on hand my grandmither funeral plor paid 3 times over and waited month for her headstone to boot-its a gredy business
That is so disgusting and terrible to know that the funeral home hurt people in their time of need especially when a family member is new at planning a sorrowful event that makes you cringe.
Most people are new and uninformed that's why they reach out to the media to paint us in a bad light! If I gave a family my services for free they still have to pay the cemetery, the florist, the church, (maybe), the casket company. So it's not just the funeral home you're paying you're paying for all the things you asked for in that arrangement office that the funeral home doesn't offer.
Whats unfortunate about this situation is you have people who want something for free and because they couldnt have it they went to the biased main stream media to paint the director and staff in a biased light! 1 you must pay your funeral bill, 2 if you do not pay such bill the director of the facility is under no obligation to render you service, 3 if they render service in good faith they are not obligated to hold a body or cremains for an extended period of time, i.e. the director informing then that if they do not pay the bill he is able by law to bury the cremains in an unmarked grave because law states they must be disposed of. So people dont run up a bill you cannot afford because once you enter into that contract with the director if you are derelict in your duties after a certain period the director is no longer bound to the contract! If you dont have the money communication is key because many firms will work with you but if you just disappear saying i was trying to come up with the money they must do what they must do.
My cousin from Jersey "Respectfully" discards bodies all the time. He doesn't work in a funeral home, he works outta the trunk of a towncar but if he did have a funeral home man business would be "Booming!" I mean talk about killing "two birds with one stone"
If you get your license pulled for whatever reason especially in the funeral industry that doesn't give you a get out of jail free pass to continue your practice or whatever you was doing over the years there was a lot of funeral homes that are a bunch of crooks even in today some of them will sell you things that you don't need as hard as it is to lose a loved one you got to be very cautious not to fall for any BS that they try to tell you because when it comes down to the wire it's like selling you land that doesn't exist
My mother law passed away on 6 of September and they said she could be buried at the VA the keep her a week.we could have a good funeral for her so love one to see her for the last time .its all about money
I've been in the funeral industry for years, and this is what I've noticed, black folks will go to a black firm and try to negotiate price and tell black firms how high the cost is, then turn right around and go to a white firm and pay whatever they say and give them the money with a smile on their faces no questions asked. From what I'm hearing neither of these women had enough money or insurance to pay for what they wanted. This should have been discussed at the initial meeting, and both customers should have been given options.
To Michael Glenn: If you wanted the family members of the deceased to pay up, you should've quoted a price. If you are only interested in discriminating against law-abiding citizens and their deceased family members, enjoy your time in prison and then burning in Hell.
