This both saddens and angers me. I know there are efforts to try and save endangered species, but as long as there are poachers and the destruction and habitats, I'm not sure how much it will help. Yes, the earth is here for us to use but it is not ours to destroy. We share it with many other creatures. Call me a tree hugger all you want, but without the earth, not only will we kill of all other creatures, we kill of ourselves in the long run.

I will never understand hunting for sport. If I went out and shot someone can I just say, "I decided to murder that guy for a bit of exercise, don't worry though, it was all in good fun." Abigail Graham I believe you're referring to the Northern White Rhino. There are actually only 4 left. Only one of those is male & he is quite old. He is protected by armed park rangers 24/7 and they are trying to get him to mate with the only adult female left. She has two female offspring.

I know meat may taste good and most media has told you that meat is good, but they're hiding the horrible truth from the public, like how animal agriculture produces more greenhouse gasses than all trasportaion combined.
Zoos are actually helping with trying to increase these animals population by breeding them! The main threats for these animals are hunters and the fact that huge parts of their natural habitat is being cut down either for the wood or for the land.

+Life-Row-Toll It depends on the area. In some parts of the world they're over-populated, but in other areas there's a decline in the population from previous years. IMO, a lot of people (I'm NOT pointing any fingers, & mean no offense to anyone here!)are saddened/shocked and angered at the specific areas that have less & less population growth per year, and tend to run with that specific set of facts w/o looking at the entity of the situation. That said, I still think it's horrible that some beautiful animals are being poached to the point of extinction in that areas •because• they're beautiful. Why not take a picture instead?! And several breeds of the animals listed in this video are ONLY found in those "certain areas". (IE: the mountain gorillas in Africa) And I find that absolutely tragic. All animals serve a purpose on Earth, and who knows (beside God)what will happen when they're hunted to extinction because they're "pretty"and/or are believed to be able to heal/cure diseases or conditions of mankind. (If they can't get an erection, I suggest medication, NOT making tea/eating a tiger penis! To quote Ji I Hendrix, "Until man realizes the power of •love•, they will always love •power•!" +Pixelgamer671 it's not really a huge luxury as long as you're not dirt poor. Beans, potatoes, rice and corn are my diet staples and I live off of about 4 dollars a day for food. Also, some industries like the meat industry really need to go down even if it causes markets to plummet. Smoking is becoming much less popular which is causing that market to plummet, but I don't think anyone would argue that that's a bad thing besides the people selling tobacco. +Green Health yes, i like the thought of helping animals in that way but i don't see how it will help these endangered animals, besides the displacement of animals which are all happening in a first world country, i don't see what the benefit is for the most endangered species being out of state. And if a very important market goes down it can lead to a very bad hit on the economy. if a certain market doesn't make enough, it will hurt the entire country and land us in another depression. rare animals can worth a lot of money. and some aren't necessarily rare, just worth a lot of money. some collectors will pay up to 3 million dollars just for a feather of a rare bird, or just a fin of a pricey whale. and then some assholes just think they're pretty and want to hang the poor things on they're walls
Because unfortunately these animals are hunted by poachers in order to use there meat and other things like that. But hey look on the positive side there are more people that want to help these animals then injure or kill them. But yeah Mankind sucks sometimes
