A point: pretty much the only places where a person should be concerned about hurricanes is Abaco, Grand Bahama, and maybe Nassau (but not to any serious extent). The other islands rarely see serious storms, and almost never serious enough to consider actually doing anything about it like shutters or evacuation. My best friend spent almost his entire life on Andros, and he's seen a total of 3 hurricanes there with none of them doing any more damage than a slightly stronger squall than normal. Zero deaths, zero injuries and no more damage than having to clean up palm fronds all over the place. And I've been told that that's the normal on all the other out islands. Some of them have never experienced a hurricane. Maybe point out that most of the out islands have what's called, in Canada, squatter's rights. You want to "own" a property on Andros and build your house there? Just find an empty plot off the Queen's Highway, drop a lift of concrete building blocks there, and it's yours. You'll still have to jump through official hoops, but that's the extent of claiming ownership of that particular patch of ground. And, especially on the out islands, remember the country's less than 50 years old. It's really like the old west in a lot of ways, and the whole concept of "government control" is really a local thing a lot more than a Nassau thing. My friend has never had a drivers' license, for example but his niece; the local police chief, told another officer (in front of my friend) that this fellow can pretty much do whatever he wants under any circumstances without interference of the law. I intend to live there at some point, and I don't anticipate anyone asking me any questions about residency or citizenship. Really, as long as you're contributing to the local economy in some way they don't care.

Great content. We're considering Exuma and Eleuthera along with other islands outside the hurricane belt.

Honestly it sounds great but at those price points for Visa's (houses) It's only really open to the rich it seems.
