My father came from Italy 🇮🇹 to Australia 🇦🇺 in 1949..Bonegilla was a tough place for immigration......survival of the fittest.....my father used to say The Italians were asked to come to Australia for work, but it wasn't as easy as it sounded. Bless all the migrant's who came to our shores and built Australia and are no longer with us.❤😢
Europeans built this Country. They worked insanely hard, adapted well and embraced the values of Australia. How different things are now. Sad….. very sad.
Arrived January 1954 from Germany at Bonnegilla as a 12 year old kid with my parents and after 3 months settled in the Latrobe Valley Gippsland. As the years have passed I have never been back once to the old Country. I consider Australia the best safe country and myself lucky as an Aussie now living in retirement in Central Queensland. 😁
