His change of pace is unbelievable. Especially under the rim, those slow euro-steps are so hard to time as a defender and they usually end up in uncontested layups or fouls
Thanks to his unique combination of size, handle, balance, and slitheryness. The Oklahoma City Thunder have a superstar on their hands with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander💨🔥
SGA might have the 2nd best BB IQ in the game. The #1 is obvious and needs no intro. As far as future superstardum and potential GOAT status--it's very different now for guards to be in the conversation for MVP. The golden era of the guards is pretty much over: Magic, Jordan, A.I. Kobe, Rose, Nash, Curry, Westbrook and Harden between them collected 17 MVPs between 1987 and 2018, so more than half of all of the MVPs went to guards during a 31 year period. Since then there hasn't been a single guard in the running for the top individual award as the Big Men: Giannis, Jokic and Embiid dominate both the league and the media coverage with their ungodly offensive stats, tough defense and winning teams rosters built entirely around them. The NBA has become a big man's league again. Time will only tell if guards, like SGA and Doncic can scale the mountain of league supremacy once again.
