Bless up you’re doing great. The progress is epic. You don’t need to put your hand to show your scalp. Let it grow. You scalp is healthy. My locs are all joined to form a single loc on my head and I still find ways to wash and sundry. I wash twice a week. I’m 10 months in and it’s beautiful. I’m in Nigeria. My locs are spiritual. The most amazing part of everything is how people stare in amusement when I walk down the streets. Big ups brother. Much love and support from Nigeria, Africa...🖤
Do you know how long I have been wanting for your video mn😁, anyway thank you for continuing sharing your journey, you are an inspiration mn. I am in my 4th month of freeformimg I've been getting a lot of negativity comments, but every time I watch your videos I feel like I am not alone in this journey.
I feel that bro ✊🏾 missed posting the updates-sorry to keep the fam hanging. People will always yap and feel the need to place their opinion on you-So long as you’re doing it for you, don’t worry about them haters! Congrats on month 4 brother! Excited to see the crown that comes thu! Couldn’t be more happy to share this loc journey with you 🙌🏾💯
Bro I know what you mean, I got a positive reaction this afternoon... what I realized is people are fans of the journey but are just unaware, we've been programmed to hate ourselves... that ends now + holding it down out here in South Africa + KEEP GOING, KEEP INSPIRING +
I truly admire you bro!! Your life journey is filled with trials and tribulations, and your hair shares its own, but know that you are appreciated and supported out here! I started my loc journey a month ago from an afro to coils, but I made the declaration to freeform my first day! You've been an inspiration. So please, you don't gotta post every single day, but don't stop creating! Your music isn't the only thing you're bomb at making. 🙏🏼 Much love from New York City!! I'm from Jamaica Queens but commenting from East Harlem!!! 😝
Welcome back bro! I was wondering where the updates were. We at similar points in our journey. I’m glad you’re still growing yours. I get similar comments from strangers too. It’s interesting to hear what people have to say about your natural state of being. Question: How often do you rinse your hair (not wash)? I ride my bike 5/6 days a week and usually rinse with water in the shower to get the sweat out. Do you do the same after working out? I really only wash with soap now about once or twice a month. Stopped keeping track. I’m at month 10. Bless
Can def happen in the beginning. No worries at all- it's hard to not mess with it. I touch mine just about everyday but trying to be gentler and stop myself when I catch myself doing it bro. Appreciate you tuning in man and wish you many blessings on the journey ✊🏾
How do you wash your crown these days? I'm 7 and a half months in and it's to the point I obviously can't palm-roll with my hand in the shower you suggested in the beginning stages. I just don't wanna lose progress with my Congos forming. Also looking forward to that album! Sounds dope asf🤘🏿🤘🏿👑👑
Same. I cut my hair back in March and my progress been inconsistent , so In August I just stop washing my hair from once every week to about 3 weeks and just wet hair and lightly wash/massage the scalp and rinse and I see a difference for me as my hair stays intact a bit more better. I may move my washes to once a month 😅. I feel like maybe my hair needs more than a week to natural do it's thing 🤷🏾♂️😂🤙🏾.
In Maryland I wouldn’t get crazy stairs but in Arizona I get a lot of looks I even got call the weekend at the club only good thing was 3 African women coming up to me and saying how much they love my freeforms and how much I’m a king but I really stop caring what people think at this point I’m 10 months in almost a year
I dont wash my hair no combing no touching no noting and its against freeforming by taking the shape of curly and dreadlocks i making hightops with fade sides i don know what should i do any advice its been too many month and its long enough to start forming
Patience is key my friend! I recommend you maybe give yourself a deep cleansing wash with Apple cider vinegar, baking soda, and equal parts water. Sit your hair in there and massage the scalp for about 10 min, then rinse everything out. Your hair should be clean and ready for freeforming. If not, keep repeating. until water runs thru the hair clear
Should i get my locs done professionally bc my hair is 4c and it seems very hard for my hair to make thick dreads for some reason, i keep getting the puffballs at my ends,my hair is shaking but im afraid it will fall out later. Any advice
That's def a good way to go about it, get some manicured starter locs and then go about minimal-care/semi-freeforming them. Fully support that move. It can be hard at first to just start freeforming because you essentially are "starting to do nothing" haha but whichever approach you take to start - patientce to getting that payoff is key
I actually touch on a couple things in my most recent vid but working on something just for you bro. All in all, water, washing regularly, keeping hair dry, and the occasional scalp massage does wonders!
Everyone got they own method but I used to wear loose satin bonnet for first crown, for this 2nd crown I keep it basic with just a satin pillow...no bonnet or anything
Sometimes this can be genetic, but I find just keeping your body hydrated, eating a clean diet, and cutting back on heavy washing a bit can help. Allow a week or week and a half between your washes and try using a non-harsh diluted shampoo. This will give your scalp a rest to bring in some natural oils on your scalp. And lastly, avoid playing with your hair or pulling on it, if you do!
@@DOMIBOY I used a hair sponge for the first 4 months then let it do its thing. Should I add oil to my hair on a daily basis or every so often? Also Thanks a lot!
First of all, your locks look sick. Secondly, As a white guy that has absolutely no experience with this sorta thing. I have a question. After looking at your old set of locks I noticed your hair never went below like 9 or 10 congos, while some people just end up with maybe 5 mega congos. Do you pick the mega congos or do they just not form that way on your head?
Appreciate the love my man 🙌🏾✊🏾 Much respects your way bro. And that's a solid question-I've actually never been asked that before. Some people do part these out, into clean spaced out congos-these are commonly referred to as wicks. In my case, I just didnt separate my hair much back then, and so when locs that used to be apart got stuck together, they ended up growing into one loc together. All randomly out of nowhere I think I ended up with like 8 haha. Hope this helps bro! Thanks for the question
I like freeform dreads but the semi- freeform. Free-form dreads like the Jay-Z kind is disgusting 🤢. Not manipulating your hair at all stops the hair from looking attractive. I have to manipulate my hair every once in a while.
