Dave Chappelle, in my humble opinion, is one of the best comics of this generation. It drives me crazy that people complain about comics that poke fun at society at large. Comics are some of the most honest people around. Observation and the ability to comment honestly is a talent that few people can do well.

The "hardest working baby" was pretty funny, but that follow up and delivery caught me off guard and knocked me off my feet. This man is a peerless comedy genius to be able to reach through all the political and social muck to so many cultures and backgrounds, especially in the times we live in now. IMHO, he is the GOAT.

The brilliance of Dave Chapelle is that he'll tell a Hilarious joke but at the same time it will have a deeper meaning in society if you really listen to what he's saying. For example the baby in the projects story.

Chinese pregnant lady: "I will NEVER buy one of your fucking DVDs again, Dave Chappelle!" Dave: "Ma'am, with all do respect: Chinese people don't buy DVDs." Me: "They make bootleg copies."

Alot of y'all dont get it. "Killing them Softly" was 22 years ago! Ya'll have no idea how different the world was back then. House phones, Looney tunes, Sesame street...these were everyday things that EVERYONE grew up on & it resonated soooo deeply with the crowd of that day. This was before social media, high speed internet and even before chappelle show! This was just a man observing the world around him. I wish y'all understood how great his body of work really was. Dave built a room, placed us in the room, built our expectations with relevant cultural norms, then hit us with something we couldn't see coming. Often with contradictions to what we say we're all about. --- The punchlines are often our own inconsistencies.
