Been married 15yrs... For me you need to be like minded, work as a team sharing duties, be honest, loving, caring, have patience, listen to each others opinions, be accountable, learn to forgive and apologise, have Trust in each other and above all fear God with pure heart and implement all moral values religion teaches you to. You should also eat out when you can and travel together as much as you can as it helps with stress and life becomes more enjoyable. Sharing finance and having family gatherings is a must to really appreciate each other as well....
My wife and I met when we were in elementary school. I'm 4 yrs older than her so at that time we never had a thought of ever being together. We now have 5 kids and 16 yrs of love together!

Very vital questions to ask each partner, some of which I never gave much consideration to at all. It is wonderful to observe folks celebrating engagements, weddings, anniversaries. There is much that has to be done for those healthy relationships to remain together.
I asked a heck of a lot more than that. Your ideas are a good start but dig deep on touchy subjects, it may bring some pain but it will show both of you that 1; you can discuss life deeply and survive the conversation 2; you start a life together with the truth. Don't forget to get an STD test done too, that might shine light on a subject everyone has been taught to avoid, yes past. Their past can become your future. We are extremely happy, but we know everything about each other. We share everything, like writing this comment. Oh and chores.. if you ain't doing it together, you are missing out.

I am one fortunate individual, I have been with the same woman for 42 years and our marriage is rocksolid! What the flip is wrong with people today? These times they are a changing. It the first time we were married was at Lake Solano Park in Vacaville California back in 83, the second was at the temple of our lord at Las Vegas Nevada, and the third we Tied the knot at the Spring fair in Palmer Alaska. Both of us agree we play our cards right as well as correctly for all time & eternity!

These are pretty fair questions to be asked and consider when you are thinking of getting married. Marriage is a handful but if you put God at the center of your relationship and that you are genuinely serious about it, you'll be fine.
It's obvious , if you still have questions in your mind then you both are not compatible but if you feel comfortable with that person already, you don't need to ask more questions because questions didn't pop up when you are in love.

People change yourself, their life financial situation, sports habits etc as well. And from my experience relationship based on love last longer time. But for majority of people this list is really helpful, to minimize divorce risks (sounds very material for me)

Though spirituality is important, It's more complicated than that. Compatibility of personality& lifestyle is very key to a successful union. You can't possibly marry anyone of the same faith in the name of loving God. Your need to know each other very well and be willing to commit each other.

Before we got married husband and I we had pre martial counselling with our pastor who is licensed she asked all of these questions and more. If you don't know how to talk about these questions I suggest pre martial counselling it is a safe environment to ask these and more.

There is one question that is missing completely from that list and it over rides all of the other questions. Do you like your girlfriend's mother? If the answer is "No", drop the girlfriend, because whatever trait it is about her mother that you don't like, eventually it will emerge in the girlfriend too. And by then, you'll probably be married to her and that's when your problems will really start. Ask yourself that question first, before it's too late.
I agree with some women but not all the time,there are some things my mom does i dont like and i was never around her much growing up cuz she was working almost everyday and didn't come home till i was asleep so i didnt pick her habbits so it depends

We meet each other in new year eave 1979 _ 1980 It was love in first look . After 3 day he tell me we go get your all paperwork I'm taking you in Osijek ( Croatia ) He didn't ask me :) just telling me I not leaving you ... You will be my wife . :) After 5 days knowing each other I was traveling with hem to Osijek and be his wife for 28 years after he died . It was love , honestly , respect , preciatet , trust on top. I love hem for ever and hope I see hem again .

EVEN IF YOU DO NOT OWN MUCH--GET A PRENUPTUAL AGREEMENT. You will be sorry if you don't. During marriage even with separate credit cards your spouse charges everything to the max without your knowledge the judge can split marital debts in HALF and you pay half of it. A prenup will prevent that UNLESS you have a joint account or put your name on the loan then you are screwed even with a prenup.

I have a marriage question. I saw this happen in the hall near my brother's wedding reception. A female manager was upset with a caterer, who had signed up for a one-person shift. She said she didn't think he could manage the service alone. She was sternly all, "I've told you not to sign up for shifts by yourself, I've been very clear about that, I don't know how much clearer I can get for you to listen.
